"Go read OPOL's personal account, and see scans of Siegelman's notes. This story is only going to get bigger."

Oh, you mean like the other stories that faded into the night. Nothing will happen. You can bet on that. If the MSM even mentions it, it will be in passing. Once again, the DOJ says "f*ck you" and everyone says "ok" and shrugs their shoulders.

Political prisoner. Ah yes, shades of the old Soviet Union.

Sharon, don't ya know, torture and beatings are acceptable now in the good old US of A?

Of all the outrages the last 7 years, this is the scariest. If the law can no longer be trusted, if it can be manipulated by political operatives to put a governor in federal prison, we're in deep trouble.

what recourse does congress have, particulary the oversight committee have if they find misconduct on all parties, but the justice dept, namely the attny gen. does not move forward?

what will happen with the miers subpeona? mukasey, stated he'd follow the rule of law, but so far all i've seen is his giving the ol' f.u. to the u.s. constitution and legal he's sworn to uphold and oversee.

Well, with Don Siegelman leaving the federal pen, and a bunk sitting empty, begging to be warmed by a human body, maybe Karl Rove will volunteer to go keep this federal prison bunk warm, or George W. Bush, or Dick Cheney, or Scooter Libby, or David Addington, or maybe even Michael Mukasey, the Bush family "mob lawyer."

It just seems right. And it would avert a celestial imbalance, a rupture in the space/time continuum, replacing this railroaded Democrat with a criminal Republican. Aw c'mon, with $385 million in "detention centers" having been built around America, I'm certain there's plenty of room somewhere in some federal lockup for all the criminal Republicans who've done so much damage to our democracy.

I am very happy that Don is being released. He did not belong in prison on this matter. Where it leads after that is a secondary matter to me. It's a happy day for me when the pendulum swings toward justice.

If Sielegman were my father, Karl Rove would already be burning in hell.

Bush and his Justice Department (sic) make us look like a banana republic
