Comments: Won’t Be Fooled Again

I wouldn't underestimate the ability of voters to be "fooled again"; enough to give the election to St. John. Not as long as they are getting their information about the man from "his base," our so-called journalists. Add in the blitz of Wright ads if Obama is the nominee, or disappointment among African-Americans if he isn't, and I think the Dems may very well have managed once again to pull defeat from the jaws of victory. (I put most of the blame for this on Obama, and the divisive "unity" campaign he has waged, but regardless of how we got here, here is where we are.)

As long as the Creation Museum's turnstile is ringing, McCain has a chance.

Paradox, don't misunderestimate your chances, this was "Democrats to lose". On February 4th, Democrats did lose it. One party had a clear path towards the general election and one didn't. That event changed this election to a toss up. Events since are moving it each day closer to a Republican advantage, even in some 'blue' states now. Look out there, there's now a plethora of articles looking for ALGORE as the savior. I talked about this last year...and it seems many are heading in that direction now. A brokered convention saved by Al Gore...the Goracle rises. He won't put himself through the vetting process of a primary...no energy for that. And should he except the role of savior...

If McCain actually believes we are succeeding in Iraq then he is too delusional to be allowed anywhere near the White House.

Six days after the Iraqi government launched Operation Knights’ Charge in Basrah against the Mahdi Army and other Iranian-backed Shia terror groups, Muqtada al Sadr, the Leader of the Mahdi Army, has called for his fighters to lay down their weapons and cooperate with Iraqi security forces. Sadr’s call for an end to the fighting comes as his Mahdi Army has taken serious losses since the operation began.

"Sadr has sent a message to his loyalists urging them to end all armed activities," the Al Iraqiya television channel reported. Sadr "disowned anyone attacking the state institutions or parties' offices and headquarters."

"Based on responsibility towards Iraq and to stem Iraqi bloodshed and to preserve the country's unity and integrity as a prelude to its independence, I call on the people to be up to their responsibility and awareness in order to maintain Iraq's stability," according to a statement issued by Sadr and sent to Voices of Iraq. Sadr has called for the government to free members of the Mahdi Army and the Sadrist Movement captured during recent operations.

Sure looks as though someone is winning there...and it seems the national government is doing the job they need to do, with just a little of our help. Sorry, Sadr let you...

Having humiliated the Iraqi government and "security forces", and shown Maliki is utterly dependent upon the Imperial Storm Troops for his existence, a call for a cease fire makes perfect sense.

This was all about the recently announced elections, and we had no business getting involved, unless our goal was to pervert the election process and destroy opponents to our current puppet government.
