Comments: Open Thread

You know what? I don't like your open threads.

Without Ross Perot, the Clintons would never have won the White House. Bob Dole didn't test them. Now they've met their match.

Could very well be, p-dip. There's just something not quite right about open thread haters. Small hands, smell like cabbage...

Now that there IS an open thread:

Badger at the invaluable Missing Links reports that

"A military source lifted the veil on information that the American ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker has decided to change the location of the American Embassy [which is now] in the Green Zone in Baghdad, because it has been suject to a series of rocket attacks in recent days, that have led to the killing and injuring of a number of American employees."

The obvious question is whether they are being airlifted from the roof of the Imperial Command and Control Center by helicopter! Seriously, if true, this IS a big deal. It would be optimistic to think it might be the beginning of the end, though. I'm not even sure that it is the end of the beginning.
