Comments: Tweety Gets Ethnic

I guess Chris didn't get a tingle up his thigh when he watched Obama bowl.

Posted by Radiowalla at April 1, 2008 03:05 PM

the fact that he's that terrible at bowling does make you wonder

It makes you wonder what? Seriously--I don't get it. Obama was able to laugh at himself. Good for him.

Posted by CG at April 1, 2008 03:12 PM

So ridiculous. The other side of the coin is that Obama looks great from the back - as in nice butt, dude. I guess MSNBC is trying to pick off the I won't vote for a guy who bowls like a girl crowd? What percentage of the voting population are they? Greater or less than the I'm voting for Obama because I think he's really hot demographic? If it matters, I think the latter is probably greater but how will we ever know?

Posted by jeter at April 1, 2008 03:13 PM

CG. Let's be frank. This was a brilliant move by the Obama campaign. What better way to cadge the iinterest of people who bowl than to show they are better at it and that Obama is an "outsider" so let's move on and develop a better relationship. I think Hillary's response to it was also very funny, providing a note of levity and hopefully a focus on McCain. Net gain Democratic Party.

tweety's tingles do not belong on television...

tweety fancies himself "just folks," not even realizing that to him "just folks" means uptight, myopic, misogynistic, and bigoted.

Posted by Turkana at April 1, 2008 03:24 PM

But Chris, what does his BALL smell like? That's what matters to a real man's man, isn't it. (;>

Build 'em up to knock 'em down.

It's not like Tweety was every a good guy, not when he was pro-Obama, not when he was a disgusting misogynist, not when he earned the name "Tweety" from Media Whores Online.

These despicable cretins shame me as an American, I swear to God.

When Charlie Cook says it's over - it's over:

"Someone recently gave Clinton a 12-percent chance of winning the Democratic nomination.

My guess is that her odds are less than half of that; it would take three or four consecutive weeks of problems the magnitude of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright hitting Obama, plus Clinton getting every other break in the world.

And she would still need to win the remaining contests by 60 percent or more to close the gap sufficiently so that the remaining uncommitted superdelegates might break a tie (defined as an Obama margin of, say, 60 delegates or less) in her favor".

Yes, not only is Senator Obama an effeminate democrat (is there any other kind in the msm-check Glenn Greenwald's post today and his new book is also out on the subject) but he's a black effeminate democrat gasp!...(like people don't know the man's race by now or couldn't figure it out on their own by watching the bowling video ) Jeebus H on a popsicle stick. I'm disgusted.

Hey on a funny side note (at least I thought it was) Hillary asked for a bowl off to determine the nomination....(it was an April fool's joke of course but I thought it was good).

One last thing, I think it is kind of funny that Senator Obama did this and it certainly doesn't bother me in the least about my overall impression. But to be perfectly honest, I'm not the rightwing smearmerchants who will somehow exploit this and I do worry about that happening with clips running non stop with slogans (like the windsurfing and snowboarding pictures of Kerry) and as Matthew's showed already.

Yes because if it is a democrat it, no matter what it is, it will be held against them.

Imagine if the Bushhugger did this. Matthews would be fawning and drooling over the clip...and the msm pundit world would somehow talk about how heroic it was for a him to do this and that he looks so amazingly physically fit. I can almost hear them saying something about how bowling is truly the game for mavericks, and that the real Maverick's maverick really outshined everyone in a game where low score wins.

If I want a good bowler for President, I'll vote for a pollack.

Incidentally, when are you Obama supporters going to admit that you've bought a pig in a poke?

Posted by Toby Petzold at April 1, 2008 04:48 PM

Good one Toby,

My reply: When the Clinton supporters let their 'cat out of the bag'...

Posted by tfitznc at April 1, 2008 05:15 PM

The "I won't vote for a guy who bowls like a girl" crowd won't vote for a girl, either.

That leaves the guy who can't lift a bowling ball.

Posted by TIKI AL at April 1, 2008 05:41 PM

tiki al,

well, it used to be you'd vote for the guy you wanted to have a beer with. now, it's a bowling buddy. the tweety vote is getting more sophisticated.

Posted by Turkana at April 1, 2008 05:53 PM

tfitznc, Toby's been a long time resident troll. In fact one of TLC's first if I'm not mistaken... way back when I was a lurker.

Posted by Seven of Six at April 1, 2008 06:17 PM

That leaves the guy who can't lift a bowling ball.

But... but... TIKI, you know it's cause his arms were busted in the "Hanoi Hilton"!

My reply: When the Clinton supporters let their 'cat out of the bag'...

tfitznc, Toby's a well known right wing troll, so we expect that kind of thing from a 28%er. But what kind of leftie alludes to any woman, even Hillary Clinton, mind you, as a "cat?" That your first instinct, when confronted with head-on racism by a right wing troll is to 1) automatically assume it's a Hillary supporter and 2) react in kind, says a lot about you and none of it is pretty.

The readiness of each side to believe the worst of the other has gotten out of hand. The primary is going at least until July. Why do we choose to spend that time sniping at each other when we could be slapping McCain around?

Posted by iamcoyote at April 1, 2008 06:24 PM

Incidentally, when are you Obama supporters going to admit you've bought a pig in a poke?

When you admit Der Chimporer's little Johnson tastes just like milk chocolate to all republi-cons, and that's why you guys have kept it in your mouths so long.

Posted by phidipides at April 1, 2008 06:34 PM

If I want a good bowler for President...

Well Phid, he probably did mean "good blower".

Posted by Seven of Six at April 1, 2008 07:22 PM

phiddy: I love chocolate. If I have so much as a nanosecond mental flash picture of the chimps chocolate weenie during my next Ghirardelli gorging there will be repercussions.

Turkana: I'll have you know I was kicked off of a "Deliverence" casting call because they deemed me far too sophisticated to play the "tall sodomizing hillbilly with beard".

Posted by TIKI AL at April 1, 2008 07:54 PM

ROTFL, Tiki! Good ones.

I seem to recall Poppy couldn't bowl at all. Well, he tried once, but for some reason, he picked a ball that was too heavy for him, so when he tried to bowl, he overswung and fell flat on his face. Worthy of the 3 Stooges.

Tried to find it on UTube but no luck. I wonder why.

Posted by Blue Jean at April 1, 2008 08:08 PM

I hate being right

Posted by idiosynchronic at April 1, 2008 08:33 PM

I'm a BHO guy and had no problems with Mathews comments on his bowling. Big deal, it was funny.

Now if Obama is smart and we know he is..a media event of him shooting some hoops at a PA college stop would Kick ass. He can play/

Posted by Bear at April 1, 2008 09:32 PM

The MSM has already obliged the Obama campaign by providing contrasting images of him playing basketball. I'm certain the whole affair helped quell the rising meme of arrogant spoiled elitist university educated designer beer drinking effeminate black guy that he was concerned about when ordering a beer in his road trip through PA. But, immediately following some serious sounding statements (although somewhat comatose, really) by the war hero John McCain. So, what happens if McCain is forced for health reasons to drop out of the race before the Republican convention? Are both Huckabee and Romney praying for the health and well being of their dear leader. I'm sure they are. Wasn't Reagan actually in a coma during several years of his Presidency? I'm just curious. God Damn the corporate propagandists who decide elections in this country! I have not and will not vote for John McCain. There is an awful mistake here. I thought just because we all could hurl our misogynist bile at the Most Evil Ambitious and Hated Woman in the History of The World, that you were on Obama's side. You're what? Let me speak to the Dean of your company immediately!

This could be the equivalent of Kerry windsurfing in that rubber body-suit.

Posted by bob h at April 2, 2008 03:49 AM

Ironic that Kerry's windsurfer had a bowling ball for an anchor.

Posted by TIKI AL at April 2, 2008 05:06 AM

GUTTER BALL!
