Pig is right Turkana!
Posted by Seven of Six at April 2, 2008 10:31 AMWhy is this pig on television?
Maybe because, when the Clintons sent a letter to MSNBC saying that it's not just Schuster being an asshole for the "pimp" comment, it's a pattern at the station, everyone deliberately misinterpreted her words as demanding Schuster be fired instead of what she really meant, which was that the entire batch of talking heads, especially Tweety, have a history of sexist language which should be examined?
In other words, because it was Hillary fighting back against the media, nobody really cared what a pig he was. Now that he's being an ass about Obama, suddenly he's the bad guy again. He's still there because the station learned that Dems are okay with trashing other Dems as long as it's the right Dem being trashed.
Does that help?
Posted by iamcoyote at April 2, 2008 10:45 AMcoyote, He was a pig long before the treatment of Hillary.
Posted by Seven of Six at April 2, 2008 11:02 AMBravo iamcoyote! It's astounding to me how little the blogosphere cares about the idiocy on MSNBC, as long as Keith and company worship at the same altar they do. People should pay attention to the master Bob Somerby. Your about to be screwed by the msm again. Until you stand up for all dems we are doomed to repeated failure.
Posted by Ann Brown at April 2, 2008 11:03 AMSoS, he became a pig because of Hillary. But I was really disappointed when the "pimp" thing happened, because any other time, all of us would have been backing up the Clintons against media attacks, and helping move that ball down the field. Instead, it just turned into another political talking point.
Until you stand up for all dems we are doomed to repeated failure.
That was my point. Thanks, Ann!
Posted by iamcoyote at April 2, 2008 11:14 AMso Matthews is making race an issue? Maybe he got it from Harold Ickes. Look, as long as the Clinton campaign is sending out guys like Ickes to keep the Wright issue going, race will continue to be front and center in the Media.
Posted by T2 at April 2, 2008 11:17 AMharold ickes did not create the reverend wright issue..barack obama did..and he compounded it by the slippery way he handled..you obama people just want to dismiss it out of hand..i don't blame you..it is devasting..and the repugnican attack machine is well aware of it..they are salivating over it..harold ickes is pointing that out thats all..the issue exists and pretending that it doesn't is ignorant and child like..close your eyes and the boogy man will go away..to bad it doesn't work that way
Posted by dennis at April 2, 2008 11:26 AMDo I sense a pattern here?
Matthews might be doing some thinking:
"I insulted Hillary, and she gained ground in the polls. Maybe if I insult Obama, make him the victim..."
Then again, I'm insane. I support Hillary.
Posted by blogtopus at April 2, 2008 11:40 AMObama created the Wright issue? What part did Wright play? And if you want to condone the Clinton campaigns use of that issue to make Obama look like a scary black man, fine. Might as well put your pointy hat and white cape on and be done with it. And don't call me "Obama people", I am a Democrat who will vote for the Democratic Party's nominee. I'm also a realist who, as I have said from the start, think the Democratic Party is taking a horrible gamble with our future nominating either a woman or a black person for this important election. And yes, I hope Obama, the scary black guy with the crazy preacher, wins the nomination. But if not, I'll go with the sniper-fire dodging, sleep-deprived woman.
Posted by T2 at April 2, 2008 12:03 PMnow i get it..the clintons are responsible for racism in america..how silly of me not to have realized that..they are responsible for so so much..at least all the bad stuff...and that other stuff..22 million new jobs ..largest surplus in history..a chance at peace in the middle east (framework is still bill clintons)..phooey to all that nonsense..and oh yeah i forget how they were responsible for the decadent decline of morality in the country..can't forget that one
Posted by dennis at April 2, 2008 12:06 PMyou're dam right he created by not disavwing wrights remarks a long time ago..using his esteemed judgement..and if you're a realist you're a pretty selective one..i'm talking about winning here..not some dreamy eyed interpretation of racism..and who is and who isn't..and bully for you for being a true demcrat and voting the party line..cause i'm not..there was a time when i would have voted for him..that time is past..i've said it before..he reminds me of someone else who called himself a uniter..and was just about as qualified

Clinton Keeps Her Pa. Lead
By Jon Cohen
Hillary Clinton holds a nine-point lead in the Pennsylvania Democratic primary, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll. But it is the survey's general election numbers from three key swing states that may do more to bolster the New York senator's campaign.
In hypothetical match-ups with presumptive GOP nominee John McCain, Clinton outperformed Barack Obama in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania. In each of these states, Clinton is propelled by solid support among female voters, and Democrats -- particularly white Democrats -- in all three are less likely to defect to McCain with Clinton atop the Democratic ticket.
Overall, Clinton is up nine points over McCain in Ohio, while Obama runs about evenly with the Arizona senator. Clinton also has a more sizable edge in Pennsylvania and is competitive in Florida, a state where McCain is up nine points on Obama in the new poll.
Polling about November in the midst of a hotly contested primary contest is a perilous enterprise, but a Clinton campaign eager to sway superdelegates is sure to latch onto the new data. And the crosstabs do reveal some early obstacles for Obama.
About one in five Democrats in each of these three states said he or she would support McCain if Obama were the Democratic nominee; that is about double the proportion who would vote for the Republican against Clinton. And Clinton outpaces Obama among white women by double-digits in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania alike.
in case anyone is paying attention..and not swept up in obamamania...it is all about ohio florida and pennsylvania..that is the road to the white house..not idaho and utah..sorry
Posted by dennis at April 2, 2008 12:44 PMdennis, Hillary Clinton is running for president, not Bill.
Posted by T2 at April 2, 2008 01:12 PMt2..i know that ..but it's a 2 for 1 deal..hard to get away from that one i think..i believe most reasonable people would welcome his counsel on many matters..not all
Posted by dennis at April 2, 2008 01:20 PM...how's he connect with regular people? Does he? Or does he only appeal to people who come from the African-American community and from the people who have college or advanced degrees?"
Fucking pig is right!
Good God!
I'm sorry, but all us "people with advanced degrees" are regular people too!
Fuck you Matthews!
Posted by snark at April 2, 2008 01:36 PMChris Matthews is a sick puppy.
Oy, we're back whether "reg'lar folks" want a prezlidenter they'd like to have a beer with or bowl a game with, eh?
Worked like a dream last time, didn't it BushAmerica?
Having watched this unbearable assclown Matthews on a few unfortunate occasions, I can only say, if you're stupid enough to sit there and regularly "watch" him for information you couldn't hope to make a sensible "choice" for prezlidenter.....which I suppose is the very reason he is on the corporate newstube.
Posted by euzoius at April 2, 2008 02:51 PMcontinuing to use the rev. wright issue is pathetic and feeble. a large constituency of the dem party goes to black churches. white america does not understand black churches, period. does not understand nor does not seem to want to understand what goes on in black churches. does not, nor seeks to understand how important the church is to the black community. does not appreciate the extent of hyperbole is in a sermon. a stupid azz statement does not undo 30+ years of outstanding community service and outreach.
stop calling him out for something he said years ago and listen to the entire fcukin sermons. the whole thing. until you do, stfu about rev wright. this is the same man that said christians need to forgive those who bash in the heads of babies (from the bible) btw, that was in the "chickens come home to roost," sermon, the "chickens," was a quote from a u.s. ambassador. so, explain why the ambassador wasn't called out? obama did not agree with what he said, he distanced himself but he did not disown the man. that's what you want him to do. he won't, get over it. a soundbite is a terrible thing to the feeble minded. to counter it, listen to the whole thing, you may learn something about self-responsibility, reaching out to your fellow man, etc. no one, and i mean no one, who goes to his church thinks he's racist or anti-semetic. the president of the u.c.c, a white man, supports him fully. trinity busses white members to the church. if they, the members, felt that, would they ride a fcukin bus to downtown chicago?
lets dig up where the three worship, and lets see what we find puffda. hagee, robertson, the "family," lets put their public service against trinity ucc and see who comes out on top.
Posted by anthony at April 2, 2008 02:54 PMdid dennis get his 30 pieces of silver before or after attacking Obama?
oh yes, beware the right-wing troll, he comes in many disguises
Posted by gay veteran at April 2, 2008 06:18 PMWTF?! Dennis a right-wing troll? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Dennis, I didn't know. Could have fooled me.
Posted by Judith at April 2, 2008 09:21 PMjudith..that is pretty funny..guess if you ain't with baracky..ain't worth living...
gay veteran..obama is unelectable..got it..it's that simple
Posted by dennis at April 3, 2008 02:11 AMdennis, you can stamp your little hoofs all you want but Obama is just as electable as Hillary
Posted by Gay Veteran at April 3, 2008 12:05 PMpoor dennis, looks like Obama raised more money in March than Hillary and McSame COMBINED
Posted by Gay Veteran at April 3, 2008 12:10 PMwhere is the money coming from..is my question..it ain't blue collar democrats..i'll tell ya that...it's anti hillary money..people who don't want her to run..and no barack is not as electable as hillary..and it's not even close in a ge..i don't care what the polls say right now..although i think baracky has peaked and is sliding a bit...she has been vetted ..he has not..and i don't think he is that tough..i got a feeling he might start sweating a bit when it gets a little hot in the
kitchen
