Comments: Letter From California

Thanks Paradox. I love my birds too and I don't let the kitties outside to get them.

Sorry to hear about the foreclosures. It has not hit here yet and according to the papers, our economy still holds rather strong (and housing prices too). I do not look forward to the "boarding up" of my neighborhood.

Nice to read the Dems in your legislature telling it like it is. And Arnold's plan

"Sacramento high school that faces teacher layoffs and bigger classes under the governor's proposed budget, which closes the deficit with spending cuts, borrowing and deferrals."

does not sound good.

I am continually amazed that the right thinks that we can have a prosperous or successful country when we do not invest in our country? So often, investments are painted as "excesses" when they are necessary.

Thanks for writing from the local front.

You're welcome. Have the best day ever, eh?

Don't you have bird tables in the US?

Posted by blowback at April 8, 2008 10:04 AM

Yes, we have them, but one really wouldn't work in the front, the cats can spring on them from too many places, and nothing taking precedence over the roses, nothing, it can't go in there.

I don't even know that the doves would use it, they're ground feeders.

I have a huge canary palm that I didn't mention. Other birds love to roost in it, they burrow enclaves into the soft tissues left over from frond trim. About thirty other birds are always around now too, plus a mating pair of jays that always show up, and every day they make a massive racket. At least they wait until the sun comes up.
