Carl Bernstein on the Clintons. Ouch.
Posted by fred at April 13, 2008 06:41 PMFrom your Hillary's blogger cut-n-paste:
We all knew it would happen. Finally Obama would say something that would betray his arrogant condescension toward almost all other Americans in a way that was so heinous that even the Obamedia couldn't cover it up.
Hmm hmm. Had a massive impact...what with making Shillary shoot herself in the ass with tales of hunting (and when WAS the last time you shot a gun, Senator...Run! Run! It's sniper fire from a mallard) and tales about the horrors of elitism (right after another $1000.00 a plate fund raiser)...cough, cough...and belting-down Chivas boilermakers with the common wealthy people of Pennsylvania. I don't want to be the one to point this out, but as others have noticed (namely David Plouffe) Shillary is "acting like Annie Oakley and Billy Graham all in one" over this, so don't expect it to go as well as you think it will go.
Yup. She's busy snatching defeat from the jaws of victory...instead of what the Clintonistas think will come of this from her incessant Penn inspired rantings. I, for one, simply can't wait for when she shows up in the Elmer Fudd hat toting a new Franchi over/under! Here is my advice: "Watchout, Cwinton! Dat's one waskawy Democwat ur aftuh! Heh, heh, heh!"
So I click on the link titled 'Frenchdoc at Correntewire: "Why Hillary Should Be President (WHSBP) - About That Beijing Speech"'
And we get Frenchdoc and a bunch of drooling fangirls humping their own legs over a speech that is only remarkable in its blandness and statements of the obvious.
Proof of why Hillary should be President? Hardly.
I need to see solutions. All I see is bitching and an angry giiirrrllll circle jerk.
No point in clicking the next link as it is guaranteed more of the same.
Posted by SnarkyShark at April 13, 2008 07:30 PMSnarkyshark,
You sure like to use cute phrases like 'angry grrrls' and 'fangirrrls' and 'bitching' a lot in your comments. Hmmm. You and Boob in Pacifica should hook up. The similarities are striking.
Posted by at April 13, 2008 07:34 PMWell, it's all sounded like a faux eruption to me. I've been a working class person all my working life. I've seen Republicans and Democrats promise and not deliver. I found nothing that Obama said offensive. The working class has been screwed by politicians who keep trying to divert the voters from their economic interests by phony deivisive issues like gay marriage.
I find it offensive that people who pretend to be liberal want to ignore what has happened to the working class and find it "elitist" to discuss it.
I just hope eri and his fellow hallucinators stop huffing in time to vote for Obama in November.

I callz em like I see em. Sometimes having to look in the mirror is painful but necessary. When people insist on living the stereotype, I am going to mock them as they richly deserved to be mocked.
you and Boob in Pacifica should hook up. The similarities are striking.
To anybody who doesn't think in your Authoritarian
lemming like black and white world-view would in fact look the same.
I am sure me and Bob have differences, but in our desire to rid the country of all the impediments to getting back on the right path, we are brethren.
In our desire to get this blog back on the right path and out from the shadow of impending irrelevance, we are brethren.
To think that these two point of common interest intersection makes us interchangeable shows your willful ignorance and marks you as one of the said impediments.
Other than lashing out with personal insults, can you even make a cognizant argument?
Or am I being elitist for suggesting a rational argument is necessary?
Posted by SnarkyShark at April 13, 2008 07:54 PMThe first link in eriposte's article here includes an ode to the Machinists' Union Tom Buffenbarger, who, as we probably all remember, said this:
"'Hope. Change. Yes we can.' GIVE ME A BREAK! I’ve got news for all the latte-drinking, Prius-driving, Birkenstock-wearing trust-fund babies crowding in to hear him speak."
A question: is this cartoonish stereotyping of Obama supporters considered to be OK by the same folks all bent out of shape by Obama's recent remarks about "bitter" rural voters?
When I saw Obama speak in Portland, Oregon, in the middle of March, I think Birkenstocks were few and far between, and I kind of doubt that there were many trust-fund babies present, either. (Weird--lots of trust-fund babies attend Portland State University, say, right?) But geez louise, lots of people arrived by mass transit, which is as ideologically suspect as a Prius, I suppose.
Posted by joel dan walls at April 13, 2008 08:51 PMObama tells it like it is:
"She's running around talking about how this is an insult to sportsmen, how she values the 2nd Amendment, she's talkin like she's Annie Oakley! Hillary Clinton's out there like she's on the duck blind every Sunday. She's packin' a six shooter! C'mon! She knows better. That's some politics being played by Hillary Clinton! I want to see that picture of her out there in the duck blinds. Haha. Ya know, c'mon. When Hillary Clinton says I'm out of touch I just have to remind people of the track record."
Obama is pointing out how once again Hillary Clinton, the Democratic party's resident liar, is saying anything to get elected.

Hillary has begun to compare Obama's perceived elitism with Al Gore's, and blaming Gore's defeat with it.
Gore is probably the single most powerful superdelegate, and Obama begs to differ.
"Al Gore was mentioned earlier. I think Al Gore won," he says.
Oh snap!
Your DLC infested consultant top heavy machine at work.
In a normal election cycle, this is what we would put out there in order to turn what should have been a blowout into a close/stolen race a la Kerry in 2004.
I was a Deanic, and I will never get over the stab in the back by the DLC and consultant class. I will not rest until that whole group gets run out on a rail.
Fortunately Hillary's tankng campaign gets rid of a bunch of em.
Posted by SnarkyShark at April 13, 2008 09:04 PMHillary has begun to compare Obama's perceived elitism with Al Gore's, and blaming Gore's defeat with it.
At this point she should defend Gore and point out how that perceived elitism was and is wrong and is a right wing machination. But since its actually her machination, she can't do that. So she flings poo and adds to that perception.
Class act.
This is why she is working her way to irrelevance and a complete dishonoring of the Clinton name.
This is why people who care about this blog don't want to see it driven into the same shit-hole.
Posted by SnarkyShark at April 13, 2008 09:23 PMHere's my favorite quote from all of todays blog commenter's comes from Balloon Juice..
Jake sez.
And at the risk of being elitist, I suspect a lot of people are looking at Hillary as she wags her finger and calls on Obama to ‘splain himself right now and they’re thinking “WTF are you talking about?” We know what elitist and out of touch looks like. It smirks, has trouble creating a coherent sentence and wears a cowboy hat. Shaddup already.
I also think that if she isn’t careful he will explain himself and he’ll do it in such moving and eloquent terms that angels will weep and she’ll be standing there with her metaphorical dick in her hand.
But I guess my sense of humor probably makes me a vile misogynist.
It's only funny because it's true.

For those who revel in their bitterness.

You consistently prove that you are one. Your most recent post has absolutely nothing to do with my perception of you as one. Its not surprising, simply expected.
Also snarky get your facts straight, you might actually want to watch the video of Clinton's comments regarding Al Gore. She blamed the Republicans for portraying Gore the way he was. She is also correct in that it is a charge that the Republicans have been able to CONSISTENTLY use against the Democrats. Democrats should be asking themselves why this charge seems to stick so well. It matters. Why? Because in order to actually win elections, Democrats need Bubba just as much as they need Bryce.
Posted by kacey at April 13, 2008 10:05 PMIn honor of Kacy I give you.

OOOPPPs, pretty much nobody left but the status quo loving DINOs and the left leaning Authoritarian stragglers.
Democrats should be asking themselves why this charge seems to stick so well.
Because idiot Democratic consultant and Blue Dog DINOs would rather suck up to the Republicans and tremble at the thought of Rush talking ill to them, then fight back.
Fortunately those people are going down with the SS Hillary.
The question you have to ask yourself is "can I swim?"
And are these really the rats I want to be abandoning ship with.
Just to keep the facts straight, I support
1. Women in combat if they so choose
2. Equal pay
3. Unfettered abortion
4. Equal opportunity
5. Maternity leave.
So fire away with your sexist and misogyny slurs.
I revel in their absurdity. I am glad to be part of the process of reducing their effectiveness. They have no power cause I just don't give a shit about your incorrect opinion.
They are words designed to end the discussion. Pretty much the equivalent of the grade school "whatever".
And they don't work anymore.
We will have the discussion even if it does make you uncomfortable.
Maybe you can cry to Steve and get me banned like all the Joe Lieberman loving asswipes did at the TMV. I'm sure they are real proud of Joe now.
Last time I visited it was as dead as tomb as befits any place that stifles discussion that makes them uncomfortable.
Posted by SnarkyShark at April 13, 2008 10:35 PMJoel Dan Walls,
I don't agree with the ridiculous comment of Buffenbarger about "I’ve got news for all the latte-drinking, Prius-driving, Birkenstock-wearing trust-fund babies crowding in to hear him speak". That was a stupid statement like many stupid statements made by surrogates of both campaigns. For the record I drive a hybrid car and I do go to coffee shops now and then - so his generalization is as stupid as that of Obama surrogates who generalize about Sen. Clinton's supporters. There has been no dearth of surrogates saying stupid things in this campaign.
Posted by eriposte at April 13, 2008 10:40 PMAnd yet you link to a post that approved wholeheartedly of the same Bozo.
And do read that Mcclatchy link I provided.
I'd love to get dizzy watching you spin that.
Posted by SnarkyShark at April 13, 2008 10:45 PMShe blamed the Republicans for portraying Gore the way he was.
Correct
And then promptly used this to further her
exact same machinations against Obama. Old style loser politics at their finest.
I don't want to have a toe-the-party line operation like theGOP, but there are some lines you don't cross.
Posted by SnarkyShark at April 13, 2008 11:15 PMEriposte, go read the entire Buffenbarger speech. As Obama likes to see in each round of W.O.R.M. (What Obama Really Meant), context is everything.
Posted by Susie from Philly at April 14, 2008 05:55 AMAn April 8th poll? That was a political light year ago.
Posted by Susie from Philly at April 14, 2008 06:03 AMSnarky,
I could care less what you support honestly. I know you think it's important but it's actually irrelevant. Obama has been supportive of women's issues, but the fact that he likened HRC's time as First Lady to 'sippin tea in the White House' doesn't mean he's not a misogynist either.
Maybe you can cry to Steve and get me banned like all the Joe Lieberman loving asswipes did at the TMV
OMG! Classic! Thank you for proving my point and showing an example of Misogyny 101. My former Women's Studies professor would have loved your accurate depiction of basic misogyny.
Posted by kacey at April 14, 2008 03:01 PMAnd then promptly used this to further her

No, it's called BASIC politics. The same BASIC politics that Obama uses when he blames the deaths of Iraqi soldiers on HRC bc she voted for the war.
Posted by kacey at April 14, 2008 03:06 PMOMG! Classic! Thank you for proving my point and showing an example of Misogyny 101. My former Women's Studies professor would have loved your accurate depiction of basic misogyny.
Mysogyny on this blog means "I don't swoon at every eriposte cut and paste hit piece"
Why don't you ask your professor about that new dynamic after the next time you blow him for your higher grade point average. Oh your professor is a woman? Even better, same point applies.
Now that was mysogyny done right.
Since I am going to be accused of it regardless by people who are doing their level best to live up to the Rush "Femanazi" stereotype, what incentive do I have to care about your way too casual use of that word?
Once again, you deranged Clintonistas only use that word to shut down any reasonable conversation.
Personally, I think your just a racist! Neyner neyner
