Comments: Case Study

I beg to differ on one minor point. Everything provides a case study of Bush Administration incompetence. Not just Pakistan.

The hat trick for Turkana, three "completely failed"s in a row. Where's the squid.

Gillani rules out talks with militants

New York, April 22: Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani has said he will not allow the terrorists to "blackmail" his government and will not hold negotiations with militants along the Afghan border, foreign or Pakistani, until preconditions set by his regime are met.

"We will not be blackmailed by them. We won't listen to their demands that are totally unrealistic. If they want us to hand over (jailed) terrorists as a (precondition) for talks, that will not happen," he told Newsweek. from zeenews.com

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has dispelled the impression that troops are being withdrawn from tribal areas adding army will remain there till a final decision is taken on this count.

This impression is wrong that troops are being withdrawn from tribal areas. We want peace in Malakand and other tribal areas. It is our desire that people should depart from gun culture and respect the law of land , he said this during joint press briefing along with European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Javier Solana here Tuesday. from onlinenews.com

that's odd, considering he's already released a militant leader, as part of the talks. newsweek would seem to be a bit behind...

"They quickly expressed an interest in negotiating with Islamic militants."

Because negotiating with Muslim Terrorists is always so successful.

Good post.

The other important point is that Bushco is once again angering a new democratically elected government, while continuing to do everything it can to back the pro-American anti-democratic, militarist-strongman Musharraf. Once again, the lie is given to the "Spreadin Democracy!" slogan, which the world can also well observe. Utter hypocrisy.

The rest of the world is well aware that Bush and the "conservatives" have lost the "war on terror" and every country has to pick up the pieces and mop up the congealed Bushco diarrhea, just as we do.

Dear Leader would not have stolen so much power without allowing Osama and al Qaeda to escape to Pakistan.
