I wonder where Riverbend went. I hope shes all right.
Posted by Greup at April 28, 2008 04:26 AMmorning all:
how is it that we can bail out bear sterns, and the people of new orleans continue to live as vagabonds?
how is it that oil hit 120 bucks a barrel, and 250,000 vets sleep on concrete?
how is it that mc cain, a decorated vet, can not sign on a bill to help our soldiers?
how is it that the msm, continues to bend over for the straight talk express-- flights on his wife's jet from mr. campaign reform?
how is it that our govt regularly practices propaganda on its citizens, and we are too lazy to call them on it?
how is it that obmamites and hilarians can't seem to unite and call the brazen lies and hypocrisy practiced daily by mc cain instead of spewing vitriol at the other?
we are truly a house divided while our country is going to hell in a handbasket...
Posted by anthony at April 28, 2008 06:49 AManthony, sometimes I think that the Bush Era is simply a symbol of what America had already become---certainly what a majority of Americans have become. Cheney pushed upon a large wooden door and found it was already rotten and unsound.
We are failing as a nation and very likely can no longer reform ourselves. The MSM is a massive part of it, but decades of "conservative" Noise Machine propaganda have poisoned an enormous number of minds beyond redemption. And as a result the leaders are terrified to say anything to the people about the real problems bearing down on the country.
Neither of the Dueling Dems can really say anything, knowing that the other Dem (and the Repub if Obama is the speaker) will pounce on anything vaguely controversial or difficult. So our chances of putting McCain away early were completely squandered.
I'd stay in Europe if I were you. As prospects for the future turn very sour, their society has a much, much better chance of weathering the coming storms than we do. Stay put.
Posted by euzoius at April 28, 2008 08:14 AMMy sister in law and husband get into trouble with their mortgage, an ARM loan. She talks it over with Countrywide, they work out a deal... they put her back into another ARM, due in 5 years.
I don't know who is more stupid!?
