Eriposte can certainly be flambouyant, but for the most part Eriposte seems to back up commentents like "Let me also emphasize a point that character assassin Errol Louis never bothered to acknowledge" with well reasoned and researched arguements.
If Louis's piece had been as thoroughly researched, and had still come to the same conclusions, well, then the MSM media might have actually be worth reading.

Good reporting.....
Add this to the cannon fodder: A NYT article in April 2007 in which Wright/Obama are analyzed and the "repudiation" is first addressed (over a year ago!!!)
Last paragraphs of article......
Despite the canceled invocation, Mr. Wright prayed with the Obama family just before his presidential announcement. Asked later about the incident, the Obama campaign said in a statement, “Senator Obama is proud of his pastor and his church.”
In March, Mr. Wright said in an interview that his family and some close associates were angry about the canceled address, for which they blamed Obama campaign advisers but that the situation was “not irreparable,” adding, “Several things need to happen to fix it.”
Asked if he and Mr. Wright had patched up their differences, Mr. Obama said: “Those are conversations between me and my pastor.”
Mr. Wright, who has long prided himself on criticizing the establishment, said he knew that he may not play well in Mr. Obama’s audition for the ultimate establishment job.
“If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me,” Mr. Wright said with a shrug. “I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen.”
That might have to happen......Obama's campaign knew this was a percolating issue all along.....
Posted by PaulieB at April 30, 2008 09:47 AMHey, how about a big heavily bolded article delving into Hillary's Secret Power Prayer Circle where she kneels with Rick Santorum?
Hey, I don't see the problem. I like the idea that pharmacists don't have to fill birth control prescriptions, and that if a Police Officer has an objection to guarding an abortion clinic -or, say, a gay pride parade or a Democratic party rally- that their public duty -paid for by the taxpayer- doesn't have to be fulfilled. Neat, huh!
Thanks, Hillary! You and your buddy Santorum came up with a winner on that one. And that was some pretty nice support of women's reproductive rights....
And Doug Coe is simply not a problem as Hillary's spiritual advisor:
Hillary Clinton’s Spiritual Adivsor Doug Coe And His Curious Admiration For Nazis And Communist Killings (My boldings(TM) are for analysis purposes and maximum impactionfulness...know what I mean?)
And I'm sure the girls will understand why The Family is sex segregated, and Hillary supports a Pastor who tells her the elite are empowered by the will of GOD!
One might say Hillary's old time religion(TM) is the religion of those on the upper deck of the slave ship

DC corrupts and the longer one stays been around, the more dependent he/she becomes on and influenced by it's largess. “I’ve seen pictures of young men in the Red Guard of China, a table laid out like a butcher table, they would bring in this young man’s mother and father, lay her on the table with a basket on the end, he would take an axe and cut her head off.”
“They have to put the purposes of the Red Guard ahead of the mother-father-brother-sister—their own life !”
“That was a covenant. A pledge. That was what Jesus said.”
Jesus as authoritarian demanding submission to his will.
How unique.

And the belief's of Hillary. I'm sure the Clinton supporters have no problem with it. In the Doug Coe and Clinton world jesus will soon make an appearance at a local mall after he drives in from heaven in his new pearl white Escalade with projector beam headlamps and 24s. Jesus always supported the elites.
Anyone else notice that the Supremes and their Voter ID decision are going to impact Clinton supporters more than any other voting demographic? Once again, great reporting job. Someone has to be honest and hold all the liars accountable. You're one of the few who dares.
I don't know why I bother dipping into the comments here, though. It's like these people have ADD or something. They are quite literally unable to read what you've written without desperately trying to change the subject to some anti-hillary screed.
It's so weird to me that people are so unhinged that they can't just tell the truth, both good and bad, about candidates and everything else. I would have enormous respect for an obama supporter who would simply point out the strengths AND THE WEAKNESSES of their preferred candidate, but they never ever do. It's really not that hard, guys, to be intelligent and circumspect instead of flying off the handle all the time and trying to caricature hillary as the anti-christ, as if that does obama any good.
Obama is great but he's got some problems. Deal with it.
eriposte is a great reporter - he/she (don't know) exposes hypocrisy and lies, that's what a reporter's supposed to do. Just because he/she doesn't fall in line and worship obama doesn't mean you have to flip out and attack. Is everyone supposed to fawn and kiss Obama's ass like Olbermann? That would be pathetic (it already is pathetic).
Posted by at April 30, 2008 11:53 AMWell since pastors and reverends appear to be new blugeon to attack the candidate with and some commenters here really appear going down that path well....
Lets see lets ask SEnator Obama why he prayed with that same Douglas Coe in those rightwing groups that Senator Clinton did..because he did! It's a fact! And yes let's ask Obama about Reverend Meeks...you know that anti-gay reverend??? Yes let's keep going down this tit for tat.. let's go with the "your reverend is more a batshit crazy unpatriotic racist homophobe than my reverend is" route...it's so freakin um...helpful.not.
Posted by emal at April 30, 2008 12:14 PMthis was and is all about barack obama's esteemed judgement...has nothing to do with religion..period..
Posted by dennis at April 30, 2008 12:39 PMemal, I think you're drunk on the Kool-Aid, buddy.
Better get a link up really fast. Obama showed up as a guest at a couple of yearly National Prayer Breakfasts. Hillary has been a member of The Family/The Fellowship since 1994.
And no doubt you mean the Reverend Meeks who is somewhat anti-gay and his church where Obama made gay equality statements...hmmmm.
"...an incident in 2005 when Obama and Meeks engaged in a “heated, animated conversation” in a stairway at the Illinois capitol over a statewide gay non-discrimination bill. Obama, then a state senator, was a co-sponsor of the bill and was “speaking very forcefully” with Meeks about the pastor’s opposition to the bill, according to Garcia."
In an Obama stump speech you'll hear about gay issues. In a Hillary stump speech you'll hear about Rev. Wright but nothing about those messy gay issues.
Hi Scout. I hope you and yours are well.

She, however, will win the nomination, despite Obama's supporters attempt to perceive intentions and bad things behind every breathe Hillary takes.
Carry on The Left Coaster. Great to see sane posters. Comments? Not so much.
I have not been to Aravosis in months. A self-hating, "cured" Republican who would do exactly what Wright did given any media attention.

Ohhhh! The drama!
Here's what she said;
O'Reilly: "Can you believe this Rev. Wright guy? Can you believe this guy?"
Clinton: "Well, I'm going to leave it up to voters to decide."
O'Reilly: "Well, what do you think as an American?"
Clinton: "Well, what I said when I was asked directly is that I would not have stayed in the church.
O'Reilly: "You're an American citizen, I'm an American citizen, He's an American citizen, Rev. Wright. What do you think when you hear a fellow American citizen say that kind of stuff about America."
Clinton: "Well, I take offense. I think it's offensive and outrageous. I'm going to express my opinion, others can express theirs. It is part of just, you know, an atmosphere we're in today."
Oh my God! I mean, if she was going to answer direct questions about the Wright situation the decent thing to do would have been to call Obama and ask him what he would say.
I wonder if Obama would have said he'd have left the church?
Or I wonder if Obama would have said he found the Reverend's comments offensive?
I guess there's really no way to know since Obama hasn't said a word about the whole thing.
Damn you Hillary!

AC360° will have the first primetime sit-down interview with Michelle Obama, wife of Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama.
We’ll talk about how the re-ignited Rev. Jeremiah Wright controversy is affecting the family, her husband’s campaign, and everything in between….
Who wants to lay bets Michelle is about to stand by her man and take on Clinton and her supporter Dr. Reynolds from NPC for setting up Wright’s media event to do their dirty work on her husband?
Posted by peter at April 30, 2008 03:11 PMThanks for the MO tip, I'll be watching her. I just saw the first half of the HRC interview on the O'Reilly Factor (today and tomorrow will be the only times I watch his show except when Al Sharpton is a guest bc the two of them are an interesting pair of friends). He was practically swooning. She did an amazing job with him bc he couldn't do the 'gotcha' stuff that he likes to do so much and he basically capitulated. Ofc Dick Morris said that she changed her strategy to getting 'people who don't like Obama' and that she wasn't really interested in Reagan Democrats, Independents or Republicans (Dick Morris is getting more and more bizarre each time I see him or read anything by him bc no matter how many times Media Matters or someone else calls him out, he still peddles the same bizarre stories) Part 2 is tomorrow.
