Comments: The Last Dead Enders

anyone who thinks that john mccain will still be talking or supporting george bush's record in september and october, 2008 is in for a big disappointment.

all the positive things mccain is saying now about bush will n'er be heard again from the day after mccain is nominated.

from then on,

mccain will talk about our future,

about how we can make things better

about withdrawal from iraq

about the economy

and about what a radical leftist senator obama has been

and what an empty suit he is in terms of his political rhetoric and policies.

karl rove has already publicly revealed parts of this strategy.

Posted by orionATL at May 8, 2008 11:54 AM

actually, 60% strikes me as pretty high considering.

orion - that strikes me as correct. I already heard the empty suit thing.

I know moderate republicans who do not connect McCain to Bush.

Posted by Judith at May 8, 2008 12:01 PM

The DNC should give away Tee shirts away with that picture and the "Had enough yet?" caption....no need for TV ads and the like.

Posted by Goyo at May 8, 2008 12:21 PM

Can someone put a nursing bra on Bush for increased impact?

Posted by TIKI AL at May 8, 2008 12:32 PM

orion - that strikes me as correct. I already heard the empty suit thing.

Ssssssh!

You guys are doing Rove's work for him!

Posted by snark at May 8, 2008 12:34 PM

snark - I am merely commenting that I have heard the implication of empty suit already. I heard it in a clip of Juan Williams on Fox - as per March Ambinders post on his site.

I am not doing anybody's work. But you cant keep your head in the sand and pretend it isnt coming.

Posted by Judith at May 8, 2008 12:39 PM

by the way - I am not the Judith who has been posting here apparently for awhile - I paid her the courtesy of not posting here when she asked until she continued to use my name at another site I had been at before her. May sound petty, but respect is a two way street.

Posted by Judith at May 8, 2008 12:42 PM

Sorry Judith. I thought you were Judith. Judith would have understood that I was just being snarky.

Carry on Judith.

Yoiks!

Posted by snark at May 8, 2008 12:45 PM

Judith2, whatever beef you have with our Judith, maybe you could differentiate yourself with a last initial? For our sakes?

Posted by iamcoyote at May 8, 2008 12:53 PM

So now I'm confused. Are you the Judith who used to work at the Chicago Playboy Club or not?

Please tell me this isn't a Judith version of the "3 Faces of Eve". (music from "Twilight Zone" playing)

Posted by TIKI AL at May 8, 2008 12:57 PM

Begone, thy evil Judith!! And let the other evil Judith appear! ;)

Posted by Seven of Six at May 8, 2008 01:01 PM

Nice to know at least some Republicans can face reality. Bush is down now to the folks who would support him even if he sodomized a puppy on live camera. ("It piddled on the rug! Such aggression must be stopped!")

McCain is going to forever regret the day that photo was taken, that's for sure. At least he's not Frenching Bush.

I'm wondering exactly how many of us have other monikers we use?

Posted by T2 at May 8, 2008 01:09 PM

I'll confess.

My real name is not snark.

Posted by snark at May 8, 2008 01:12 PM

So Judith, are you Judith the way Sybil was Sybil? ;-)

Posted by Blue Jean at May 8, 2008 01:13 PM

OK, I'll come clean, lately I have also been using the Nom de plume, "Snarky Shark".

Posted by TIKI AL at May 8, 2008 01:13 PM

I'm wondering exactly how many of us have other monikers we use?

I used my first name when I first started here, and moved to coyote several years ago when I started blogging. Didn't want people like scout finding me. Still, it bugs the crap outta me when people use several names; it's shifty, and means you're not willing to take responsibility for your words.

Posted by iamcoyote at May 8, 2008 01:14 PM

May I throw up now?

Posted by Kathleen at May 8, 2008 01:16 PM

i'm spartacus.

Posted by Turkana at May 8, 2008 01:17 PM

May I throw up now?

Jeez, I thought this thread was a nice light hearted change from the hig hdrama of recent days!

Posted by snark at May 8, 2008 01:21 PM

TIKI, there's only one Mall Ninja. But I still love ya!

Posted by iamcoyote at May 8, 2008 01:27 PM

"May I throw up now?"

Now this is a polite person. Of all the girls that got drunk and threw up in my car, not ONE ever asked for permission first!

Posted by TIKI AL at May 8, 2008 01:30 PM

That picture gives me the creeps every time. It's bad enough that McCain is hugging Bush, but it's not like a man hug. Or a woman hug. It's like a teenage girl slow dancing with her boyfriend at the prom. Blech--creepy.

Posted by CG at May 8, 2008 01:35 PM

So, there is hope left for the leftosphere, eh, TIKI? For your back seat, not so much! P'raps you might clear out all the empty beer bottles - it might help!

Posted by iamcoyote at May 8, 2008 01:37 PM

No, I'M Spartacus!

The picture is way creepier than that. It's like a drugged up groupie finally embracing the rock star of her dreams, while the rock star waves to the crowd and just wishes she'd go away.

Posted by Blue Jean at May 8, 2008 01:59 PM

I'll bet McCain would trade that hug for a full arms length polite hand shake in a nano.

Yea, coyote, I thought I solved the problem when I soaked an old cardboard pine tree thingy in "Old Spice"(x-mas '74) and hung it from the mirror to compliment the wads of "bounce" under the seat, but the girls still get queezy when they cuddle up to me.

I think yer right, it must be the 74 stale Phoenix sun baked beer bottles in the back. Thanks.

Posted by TIKI AL at May 8, 2008 02:16 PM

Shit, TIKI, McCain would trade that photo for one of him shaking Saddam's hand---in a heartbeat!

Posted by euzoius at May 8, 2008 02:21 PM

McCain should be hugging Bin Laden, he's the one that kept the GOP in business all these years.

Posted by TIKI AL at May 8, 2008 02:25 PM

That's the best post of the year, TIKI.

Posted by euzoius at May 8, 2008 02:56 PM

We watched "Charly Wilson's War" last night. Funny how Wilson and the millionaire Texas fundraising babe had to threaten to sue before the producers would take the 9-11 Bin Laden connection footage out.

Another perfect history vs Hollywood example.

Posted by TIKI AL at May 8, 2008 03:30 PM

blue jean - sorry? Dont get your question?

Posted by Judith at May 8, 2008 03:30 PM

WHICH JUDITH ARE YOU???

Joanne Woodward had previously portrayed a character with multiple personalities in the 1957 film version of The Three Faces of Eve and won the Academy Award for her performance.

Life wasn't complicated enough, so now we have at least 2 Judiths?

Posted by TIKI AL at May 8, 2008 03:38 PM

iamcoyote - yes, that is why I use the same name. I cant remember more than one, frankly.

The other Judith asked me on this board and on Digby to not use the same name since she was there first. I asked her for the same courtesy elswhere where I had been a while and she ignored me.

My visit today was to point out how rude that is.

But I have no wish to confuse you. later - -

Posted by Judith at May 8, 2008 03:39 PM

blue jean - sorry? Dont get your question?

Sorry, Judith. It was a lame joke. Sybil was a woman with multiple personality disorder, so the "Sybil" you talked to in the morning wasn't the same "Sybil" you talked to at night. If you follow the link, you can read the plot.

Posted by Blue Jean at May 8, 2008 03:44 PM

oh - blue jean - no problem. I thought you meant the classical reference. I was prepared to be flattered. Now I see you meant to compare me with sally field. ;-)

This is a geat blog so excuse me for playing with your heads. The posters here tend to be a cut above...hence the attraction.

like my new name?

Posted by the young Judith at May 8, 2008 03:58 PM

Love it! :-)

I'd be happy to call you the Classical Greek Sybil, but she didn't exactly have the happiest of lives. As I recall, little kids would gather around the poor old woman, taunting "What do you want, Sybil?" and she'd say "I want to die."*

Not something I'd wish on someone I like.

But her prophecies were usually true, so hopefully, you can get the good without the bad. ;-)

*Me, I'd rather have Sally Fields' life. She got to date Davy Jones AND be the Flying Nun.

Posted by Blue Jean at May 8, 2008 04:41 PM

sally is waaay too old for the young Judith to aspire to. I am aiming for Miley's life. Ha!

yes - the sybil was unsually right and pretty cranky. Fits me to a tee!

speaking of being usually right - pretty sure I said on this blog ahwile back that when McCain pulls out his mom and compares his treatment of her to what obam said about his granny...well check out the Mccain ad going on teevee for mother's day. marc ambinder has it on his site.

Posted by the young Judith at May 8, 2008 05:13 PM

and I am not march ambinder and have no idea whay I went to his site twice today. I must have gotten lost on the internets highway.

Posted by the young Judith at May 8, 2008 05:18 PM

No, JudithOne, the original Judith, is the one who worked at the Playboy Club. God TIKI AL, what a memory.

Posted by JudithOne at May 9, 2008 08:13 AM

Again, just for the record, I do not post on any sites except the TLC.

Now, Turkanajudith has even confused this blog further.

Posted by JudithOne at May 9, 2008 08:23 AM

okay JudithOne - so there is at least one other Judith out there. Maybe 2.

Posted by the young Judith at May 9, 2008 05:22 PM

"God TIKI AL, what a memory."

...funny, that's the same thing Blondie says everytime I forget to turn off the hose when I fill the pool.
