Wonder how peter will spin this devastating defeat?

I know... wait until November! LOL!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

It's a shame that Repubs are being given this early warning---they'll now have a chance to desperately come up with new lies about "change" and likely save themselves in the Fall.

These are the kind of victories that would've been great in Nov. Now the early warning system has gone off for Repubs and, like rats, they'll adapt (with the help of the Repub-leaning MSM)

You know Turkana, the sweetest bit is that Dead Eye Cheney and old time gop hack, Haley Barber were stumping vigorously for Greg Davis; as the article states, these two will go at it again in November, but this is a resounding defeat in a red strong hold.

......just can't see how a repug can win the White House in November or do I have to pinch myself??

I don't think so Euz....they have no fallback position...if it isn't gerrymandering, influence peddling, race baiting or election fixing they are out of ideas....Hayley Barbour thought this was a cinch when he appointed Wicker to replace Trent Lott opening this seat to election...apparently they tried to tie the Rev Wright nonsense into Childer's campaign and it didn't work...doom and gloom will cast a dark shadow over the gop with this result.

I just read this Hill article - and even posted about it at Low & Left - but once you look past the Komedy(tm), there is an utter, soul-grinding, feeling of despair being broadcast by the Pugs on the Hill right now. Those whom aren't depressed are scared to keep their jobs.

After tonight's election results, they can't be any better.

I can't link worth shit tonight.

This is beginning to look like a true tidal wave year for Congressional Democrats.

But just congressional. 'Cause you know, it looks horrible for Obama vs. McCain's "Leaners."

Posted by dj moonbat at May 13, 2008 10:41 PM

The Republicansave no fallback position. All they know to do in a campaign is use fear and the promise of tax cuts. And the old snake oil just don't sell in post Katrina America.

Amongst other things this means that Obama will be OK long before November. Remember, most pple don't really pay attention until after labor day. The price of gas, the mortgagemtdown and the war in Iraq ain't goin' nowhere...

...and neither are the pictures of McCain hugging Bush. :)

Be careful what you wish for.

With more political power comes the responsibility of Leadership in a dangerous world.

Democrats have proven that they are not very adept at that.

Democrats have proven that they are not very adept at that.

And you guys have been paragons of virtue as long you discount incompetence, shredding the Bill of rights, torture, death, destruction...your list of accomplishments is so wonderful it's actionable in the World Court.

But it is nice that you admit it's over for the con-servative brand.

Idiot conservative drones like jj are so stupid they can't distinguish successful policies from catastrophic failure. Their criminal party was "in charge", ergo everything's a "success". Repubs are "responsible", says the clueless jj.

Invading and occupying another country under false "WMD" pretenses to exploit its oil resources, while spending $700 billion to do so is "responsible".

Cutting taxes on the nation's rich while increasing the national debt from 5.7 trillion to 9.4 trillion (with a projected additional $500 billion deficit this year) is "responsible".

Ignoring your own and the world's climate scientists dire warnings about a irreversible threat to the planet's stable climate is "responsible".

Advocating that "everyone should get a house"! while refusing to enforce existing lending requirements and approving any absurd mortgage product as house prices obviously bubble to unsustainable levels is "responsible".

Committing the military to a "surge" that breaks the ground forces and places us in a strategic straightjacket is "responsible".

Advocating and contributing to new civil wars in Palestine and Lebanon, while pigheadedly supporting a conservative Israeli government that screws you at every turn is "responsible".

Denying the facts of peak oil because your major campaign contributors don't like to talk about it, while allowing the greatest gas-guzzling, oil-importing nation on earth to guzzle even more with no thought of what the future holds is "responsible".

And on and on and on.....

jj is Exhibit A for why our democracy is failing.

Ezzie

Take a deep breat- you just spit out 10 paragraphs of drivel. Because you believe it does not make it so.

You will still have lead. You up to it?

Posted by jj at May 14, 2008 07:59 AM

It's the Millennials, stupid.

the first generation of Americans who will have a lower standard of living than their parents.

Go, Millenials! Keep voting.
You know the change you seek is with the Democrats in power. They are historically better for the middle class in America. ALWAYS. no exceptions.

Posted by shano at May 14, 2008 12:26 PM

You will still have lead. You up to it?

Absolutely.

Now that its answered are you still going to refuse to address the utter and complete failure of your party to actually serve this nation?

It still boggles me that people expect good governance from people that can't stand government.

c'mon jj, I'm always up for some more good chuckles.
