Davey thinks her readers are stupid, it’s that simple
If after the Whitewater stories, the War on Gore and the promotion of the invasion of Iraq, if after all that and more in the last eight years any person reads the New York Times and believes it is a reliable source of information, then that person is stupid. It's that simple.
Posted by James E. Powell at May 25, 2008 08:42 AMSurprisingly Ignored? I think the proper term will be contemptuously dismissed.
Once Senator Obama gets the nod at the convention, the media will return to those paragons of truthiness like Powerline, RedState and Protein Wisdom. (Of course, Drudge has always rocked the media's world.)

Posted by Turkana at May 25, 2008 12:58 PMWe here in Minnesota have a problem that must be common to quite a few cities: the Minneapolis Star Tribune was bought by Avista. They fired nearly all the good reporters and they are trying to sell off their downtown office property as a way of regaining some of their massive losses. Result: they get their news from the right-wing blogs. This benefited Franken for a while, since the only way they could judge candidates was by their fundraising, and Franken had raised a bundle. Now it's working against Franken, since they recyle the baseless smears about unpaid taxes (Franken paid them), unpaid unemployment insurance (the notices got lost) and now about an 8-year-old satirical piece Franken wrote in Playboy. It is nonsense, but the earlier shallow coverage also did little to educate our fine electorate.
A better Democratic challenger to Republican Norm Coleman has always been Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer. Jack is stronger on the issues, better informed by far on foreign policy, more elequent in speaking to our core values, and even has a style that resonates much better with most Minnesota voters. My advise: skip the shallow coverage from the Star Tribune and their ilk. Go straight to the websites (http://www.jackforsenate.org) or do a little google video searching to see what I am talking abou8t
Posted by Charley at May 26, 2008 08:11 AMI am a bit confused... the MOB (which I am technically a part of) is made up of a group of "conservative" bloggers spearheaded by the likes of "Captain Ed" of Hot Air and formerly of the Captain's Quarters.
Are you sure you meant to type "Liberal" rather than "Conservative" in your description of the MOB.
Or is there a new MOB that I am unaware of?

Posted by CH Truth at May 27, 2008 08:02 AMHow can there be a "hit piece" on Al Frankin? That would be like saying there was a hit piece on Maxine Waters.
He owes taxes and unemployment compensation in 17 states plus he didn't pay insurance premiums on his employees. You want this "fine human being" to represent you? Hmmmm....
