It is good news that Obama will benefit from money raised in California. However, there is a danger looming for November. That is Gay marriage initative on ballot. You all know what happened in 2004 election when such measures were in ballots of atleast 5 states and all those states went Republican. Does that mean California can go RED? I do not understand the emergency for Gays to put this kind of proposal on ballot at such a crucial election. Don't they learn from the past problems? Why can't they wait until after the election?
Posted by suresh at June 10, 2008 07:54 AMIt's not gays putting this stuff on the ballot. It's those who are against gay rights/gay marriage. The CA supreme court ruled that not allowing gays to marry is unconstitutional, so now those against gay marriage are putting something on the ballot to change the constitution in CA. (At least that's how I understand it.)
Posted by CG at June 10, 2008 10:22 AMI'm a little concerned about Silicon Valley liberals. They may be former Republican Libertarians.
I'm also concerned about Barack Obama. He's never had to show any backbone on a progressive issue. I don't see why he's going to start now.

My, my, what's next: cats and dogs living together?
Posted by Bagley at June 10, 2008 03:41 PMThis will end when the Republican 527's go to work on Bambi and MO. He might get a bump through June but by the end of July it will be down to a trickle. Bambi has so much baggage that he offends just about every group other than his cult aide drinkers of which there are quite a few in the SF Bay Area. But once Bambi and MO are really scrutinized they will be to ugly to support for normal people. And I too live in Northern California.
