My question would be why did the Congress shut down the discussion about Climate Change after only three days? Isn't it one of the most pressing issues of our time? Just three days! That's all?

"Isn't it one of the most pressing issues of our time? Just three days!"

The short answer: no.

The Democrats in Congress known that "climate change" (a.k.a. "anthropomorphic global warming") is a lie. They are posturing to preserve the lie in pursuit of political benefit.

I hope/pray that the power plants are up to the task of keeping the electricity going in California. I've been to the entrance of Death Valley before when the roadside sign indicated it was 118 there on I-15 near that Del Taco. What is the state doing to help the poor keep cool?

"What is the state doing to help the poor keep cool?"
...are there no air conditioned workhouses?

OT, RIP George Carlin. You made me laugh so many times.

Aaaah, it is so refreshing to see the deniers scurrying out of the woodwork. The next thing they'll say is that the glaciers really aren't disappearing and that the ice at the North Pole really isn't melting at record rates.

I love how the deniers first denied that global warming was even happening. Then the glaciers began melting at an increasing rate, leading scientists to predict that Glacier National Park will soon have no glaciers left at all. And Chinese Communist scientists are freaking out over the vanishing glaciers in the high Himalayas, glaciers that stored fresh water and released it to the farms below during the hot, summer months.

Now, the deniers have rolled out their latest delusion. That global warming might be happening, but humans aren't involved, because humans don't have any impact whatsoever on the environment...it must be the sun. Yep, the sun. Even though solar cycles don't explain the relatively gradual, relatively constant rise in global temperatures over the past 100 years.

The way I figure it, the next argument rolled out by the deniers will be a doozy. As glaciers keep melting, as polar ice keeps vanishing (causing a positive feedback phenomenon, whereby exposed Arctic Ocean waters absorb more heat, thus melting more ice, which leads to more open water, which absorbs more heat, which melts even more ice, ad infinitum, until all the ice is melted and only open water is left...just what the oil companies are hoping will happen), as droughts and flooding worsen, as severe storms intensify, as people start dying all over the world due to deadly weather and ocean patterns, the deniers will then turn to their final argument...that it's all an "Act of God," that all the people suffering and dying must be homosexuals...even the two-month old baby found dead in the arms of his dead, emaciated mother.

Yep, just like these kooks claimed that New Orleans was leveled by Hurricane Katrina, the "Wrath of God," because of a Gay Pride Parade, the deniers will claim that all the death and dying that their delaying and denying has fostered and exacerbated is just a sign that God is punishing the earth. Of course, this presumes that some of the deniers of today will survive, and be able to make such a lame-brained claim.

We can bet that the homeowners insurance companies will be hiking rates in an exorbitant fashion soon.

Now what was The Grapes of Wrath all about? What type of climate was affecting those in the story?

Leave that crap about parades out of this. The alarmist are doing the ecology movement so much harm. You've got nothing that we poor folk can participate in. Driving prices up just takes us out of the ball game.

Drill here(buy American, employ Americans), Drill now, Pay less(sooner).

The denier community is growing. More scientists than ever now! It's the smart place to be!

The alarmists are increasingly like those nice young boys who ride around on bikes and hand out religious literature. It's best just to be polite when they ring the doorbell, smile, take their literature, and wish them a nice day. Then throw everything away and go on with your life.

IPCC scientists are bailing on the so-called "consensus." This Japanese IPCC scientist called global warming the "worst scientific scandal" in history.

Then there's Al Gore, who has INCREASED his carbon footprint the past year, AFTER his "green" retrofits to his home. While Al sits and polishes his Oscar, it's nice to know that the amount of energy he uses would power 232 homes for a month.

"The effects of global warming for the United States are manifesting themselves as predicted."

The predictions:

Hotter temps, global warming.
Cooler temps, global warming.
Droughts, global warming.
Record snowfall, global warming.
More hurricanes, global warming.
Less hurricanes, global warming.
Shrinking ice sheets, global warming.
Growing icesheets, global warming.

When predictions include every possibiliy, are they really predictions after all?

I love these troll traps, Mary! It's so amusing to watch these nitwits try to out-stupid each other with bogus "science" and quotes from fake or paid-off-by-the-oil-industry "scientists." Each environmental comment section is like a big bowl of idiot covered in knuckle-dragger sprinkles. Way better than the monkey house at the zoo, cos these guys eat each other's shit rather than fling it. There's got to be a way to trap 'em in here and charge admission.

Well, it is going to have be done by someone just a little sharper than you....so far you have not been able to dispute anything said by the "deniers" in a way that makes any sense at all.

Just a normal day.

Posted by jj at June 23, 2008 08:00 AM

Woohoo! Caught another one! My, this one seems to really enjoy the taste of shit!

But to be a useful trap, there needs to be poison.

Posted by iamcoyote at June 23, 2008 08:10 AM

No, judging from some of your drivel, I am quite sure that you would be unable to catch a mouse in shoe box; much less something that would require rational thinking on your part.

Posted by jj at June 23, 2008 08:20 AM

the deniers will then turn to their final argument...that it's all an "Act of God,"

No -- they'll blame the environmentalists.

Posted by Anonny at June 23, 2008 09:03 AM

Environmentalists are fine...it's the MMGW Alarmist that are the problem.
