"By running to the middle in an attempt to attract undecided swing voters, the Obama campaign is making a very serious mistake. Tacking to the center is a losing strategy. It didn't work for Al Gore in 2000. It didn't work for John Kerry in 2004. And it didn't work when Mark Penn convinced Hillary Clinton to do it in 2008. Fixating on -- and pandering to -- this fickle crowd is all about messaging tailored to avoid offending rather than to inspire and galvanize. And isn't galvanizing the electorate to demand fundamental change the raison d'etre of the Obama campaign in the first place? Watering down that brand is the political equivalent of New Coke. Call it Obama Zero."

What Judith posted.

Today I read that Obama says he'll expand on Bush's faith-based initiatives. WTF?

He's like the football head coach who secretly expected to lose but suprisingly finds himself with a 14 point lead entering the second half. His focus shifts from winning the game to not-losing. He tries to run the ball to take time of the clock, but ends up punting more. He plays a soft defense, preventing the big play and hoping the other team will screw up.

Hey Obama: "HOPE" is a great campaign slogan. But, as the cliche goes, "Hope is not a plan".

No...The mistake was, and is,nominating unelectable candidates.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Try not to make make it complicated.

Stay tuned.

Obama is now pro-NAFTA, pro Telecom immunity, and pro faith based programs. Might as well call him Obushma.

Clearly having gained the nomination due to support from the netroots, he has decided that there is now little need for them and has tossed them with Granny and Brother Wright under the bus. Why do you think Michelle has cooled her jets? She knows there is still plenty of room down there.

The slogan has now slid from "Yes we can" to
"Yes I can...say anything for a vote"

I misposted this to yesterday's Soto column telling us how Obama sucks...so I'll reprint in to days "Obama sucks" thread...still applies..
Obama is the Democratic Party candidate. If you do not want to vote for him, John McCain, a Republican, will also be on the ballot. Vote for him. Any of you that think Hillary/Bill Clinton wouldn't have moved back to middle positions by now are dreamers, or just dumb. Ever heard of triangulation? It was the hallmark of the Clinton presidency (prior to making sex the hallmark). What is triangulation? Doing exactly what Obama is doing now.

"In Georgia, Representative John Lewis, a prominent civil rights leader, is facing primary challenges from two black candidates who have been critical of him for backing Mrs. Clinton for months before shifting to Mr. Obama. To underscore the point, one of the challengers set up his headquarters in the same building that served as Mr. Obama’s office for the primary. Nearby, in Savannah, Representative John Barrow, who is white but represents a district that is largely black, is under attack from a challenger who says Mr. Barrow was also late to endorse Mr. Obama."NYTimes

Not even Rep John Lweis is safe!

I have often written that those who believe in freedom should support those who believe in freedom and who are not believers in the surveillence state. John Barrow was one of the Damn FISA Dogs who helped get FISA through the House. He needs to be defeated in the Democratic Primary this month.

He is opposed in this months Democratic Primary by a very good and experienced Georgia Legislator, Regina Thomas. Regina Thomas is one of the persons who is worth committing time and money to get elected. She opposes FISA and the surveillence state.

Yet, Obama endorsed Barrow this election season. Seems there is a good/strong Republican candidate running and he needs Barrow.

She SAYS she is against FISA. How do you know she really is as opposed to just saying so. The 06 midterms and the ever changing Obama prove something your Elders all have known a long time. Any politician will tell you anything to get your vote. Promises do not mean anything.

I wanna answer Mary's original question about July starting out well. After pulling off a huge upset last night, my little league kid's team is playing in the 2nd round of the season-end tournament tonight. Bee-utiful day for baseball, too, as Harry used to say. Fun stuff.

I have a lunch date to go to in ten minutes! I get to hear all about her marching in a Chicago Gay Pride Parade Sunday, which she said was great fun.

On the downside, Diet Coke gives me a headache, Man. That sucks. And Obama kissing religious leaders asses pisses me off. I also heard Nader's not gonna be on our ballot. Trying to confirm that.

But Mary, be assured my neighborhood is loading up on illegal fireworks of all shapes and sizes for later in the week. I always am excited of the prospect of digits being blown off or severed.

"She SAYS she is against FISA"

I can only hope. I know Barrow is for FISA. Mayby she will remain against FISA until the Unitary Executive can spy on here enough to blackmail her in the supporting the Authoritarians. Who knows?

One thing is certain, however, is that unchecked power to spy on the people will rot the polity.

Another good reason to believe Obama is not to be trusted. Barrow is worse than usless, he is effectively a Republican based upon his voting record. The Republicans do not need a Republican in the 12th Distrist...they have one!
