Nice to read you again Eri. I can see why you thought his piece was funny. That type of friend, who needs an opposition. I saw something out there where he accused those arguing with him of not listening, like he has said things in the past that would have told you that he would vote this way or that. Very amusing.
We can also see his judgment, allowing his wife and kids to go on Access Hollywood, be exposed, and then regret the appearance afterward. This should be very telling, indicative, but Democrats will overlook it. The guys judgment is not all it's cracked up to be. The days since he's won the nomination he's been leaving progressives in his dust. Saying, in effect, "eat my dust".
Again nice to read ya again. Enjoy the summer and come back refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to go. We do appreciate ya.
Posted by peter at July 10, 2008 08:02 AMeriposte, this is a funny and true post. Nicely done with just the right emPHAsis.
One of the things I hated about the Bushies was their penchant to redefine words. Hence, if one changes what the word torture means one can then torture under the old term but not be guilty under the new. And ignorant people would never know the difference.
Let's not continue this.
Posted by the young Judith (tyj) at July 10, 2008 08:16 AMAhhh, it's peter. You're running Ace McCain -a doddering old fart who doesn't even understand how Social Security works. Pretty cute, really!

In fact, he has and still does. It's only lack of inquisitiveness that prevents people from knowing his thoughts on the issues.
While this legislation does strengthen oversight of the administration's surveillance activities...
Thanks for acknowledging that aspect, Hillary.
This made it exceedingly difficult for those Senators who are not on the Intelligence and Judiciary Committees...
I hope those who are do their jobs. You know, like reading the intelligence about Iraq before casting an AUMF vote...cough, cough.
Posted by phidipides at July 10, 2008 08:43 AMAh, perhaps one can hear the wise eriposte gloating about supporting Hillary, while people like yours truly were supporting Obama. But let me state that, in my mind, Hillary's position on landmines is far worse than Obama's cave-in on FISA. A good movie to see what landmines can do to children is "Turtles can Fly"
Posted by Herman at July 10, 2008 09:38 AMThe "I told you so" chorus of gloating from embittered Clinton supporters wouldn't have been complete without you.
I love how people who reserve ALL of their criticism for Obama and Obama supporters claim to be supporting Obama.
"Of course I'm an Obama supporter--I call myself one! You don't need to actually support a candidate to be a supporter."
Perhaps if you cared enough to, oh I dunno, act like you care about the outcome of the race in November.
But, I suspect you'll restrict your blogging to the "nyah nyah" type of post every time Obama disapoints. Because the mere objective reality is that the primary is over doesn't mean you have to acknowledge it.
Posted by Geek, Esq. at July 10, 2008 09:53 AMBy the way, I love how this post is archived under your "primary 2008" coverage.

Posted by Geek, Esq. at July 10, 2008 09:57 AMLooks like your troll repellent didn't work.
Posted by Benna at July 10, 2008 09:58 AMStrike my last comment--poor reading skills and a busy lunch hour.
Anyhow, enjoy your gloating.
P.S. Clinton deserves nothing but respect and praise for her vote yesterday. I reject the nonsense about her trying to undermine Obama.
Posted by Geek, Esq. at July 10, 2008 10:00 AMPeebles- you need a job that doesnt suck if you have to spend you lunch hour ranting on the net about your poor reading skills. Leave the cube and get some air. You will make you office mates happy.
The post wasnt about Obama, folks. But then, I have a great job, my own remote office and great reading skills. :-P

really eriposte, you're aren't showing enough deference to the new messiah

He understands perfectly well how it doesn't work. Thats the disgrace.
Posted by m12 at July 10, 2008 10:43 AMreally eriposte, you're aren't showing enough deference to the new messiah
If Eriposte had bothered to criticize John McCain or Republicans ONCE during the past month, that statement might make sense. Or if he had posted about ANY issue that progressives care about in that time period. Or if he had ONCE blogged about FISA before Clinton gave him an opening to say "nyah nyah."
However, Eriposte only posted when he had a chance to refight the now-concluded primary. I suspect we won't hear from him again until Obama votes the 'wrong' way on something at which time he'll materialize to again lecture those poor, stupid souls who didn't support his candidate.
But, OF COURSE he supports Obama over McCain. He says so! Just like Joe Lieberman is a Democrat--because he says so!
Posted by Geek, Esq. at July 10, 2008 11:29 AMdOh jeebus, I see the resident Obama minder (or roveratf*cker) is here stalking eRi again due to a lack of pureness and genuflecting to The Precious because eRi isn't beating up his opponent enough to his/her liking. Gawd "my friends on the left" it never ends.
I hear the Daily Cheeto is looking for you...and you'll find all sorts of well deserved bashing of McSameshitdifferentday over there (and here if you actually looked at the whole blog). But that sorry Obamacrat National Committee and leadership's "evil of two lessers" and "you got no where else to go" campaign strategy and slogan isn't winning too many firm hearts and minds.
Posted by emal at July 10, 2008 12:00 PM
emal, your post above is funny!
the evil of two lessers ,/i>is awesome.
Posted by the young Judith (tyj) at July 10, 2008 12:34 PMYoung Judith...I can't take credit but also found it hilarious (and very appropriate) and that's why I put it in quotes ...the first I saw it I think?? was at correntewire.....I think it was a commenter miq2xu...anyway just sayin.
Posted by emal at July 10, 2008 12:45 PMI think I have seen that poster. And you have the class not to take credit - that is great. Too many people lift and keep.
The whole post was funny as hell though - I hope to see you around.
Posted by the young Judith (tyj) at July 10, 2008 01:22 PMHave we gotten to the point where even Obama's creative-class sycophants fall under his umbrella of protection? Chis Bowers is a big boy. He takes plenty of people to task. If he's satisfied with these paltry table scraps from Obama, he deserves to get called out on it.
Barack has plenty of bloggers flitting about him like Dennis Hopper in Apocalypse Now. Eriposte doesn't have to be one of them.
Posted by cygnus at July 10, 2008 01:29 PMI think I understand eriposte's logic: he gets to define "progressive" for himself, but Obama is not accorded the same option. Thanks for clearing that up.
Posted by joel dan walls at July 10, 2008 01:45 PMThank God you don't support PUMA eRiposte!
Posted by Seven of Six at July 10, 2008 02:51 PMIs it just me or is the constant "bitter" insult rather sexist?

It's not just you. There are other stupid people out there.
P.S. The two embittered Clinton-supporting, Obama-resenting frontpagers here are both boyz.
Posted by Geek, Esq. at July 10, 2008 09:16 PM>I am still supporting Sen. Obama☼ in the general election, not Sen. McCain.
I'm not, because I want the Right damaged over the next four years, which will happen under McCain, not revived, which will happen under Obama. A heavy price to pay, but I place the responsbility for having to pay it squarely with those who gave us this appalling nominee.
