HEADLINE: Kerry says he will ask wealthy to pay old rate, pledges to retain middle-class tax cuts

Great move by Kerry, and this policy is appropriately "nuanced" to appeal to the most people, and still make economic sense. This reminds me of Wes Clark's plan. Good article.

Once his bogus rich-boy tax plan is axed by his own party, and Iraq dissolves into chaos after June 30, and a million protesters turn out in NYC for his convention, W. will be in a tough spot. You know how he responds to tough spots ? he gets very angry and blames everyone but himself. I wouldn't be surprised to see him quit and turn the whole thing over to Cheney, take his ball and go home.

>Great move by Kerry

Especially considering the jujitsu it performs on those ridiculous -considering their candidate- attacks on Kerry's wealth the last week or so. I'm talking about the David Bossie "rich liberal elitist" ads and Brooksie's "Mayflower" piece of fish-wrapping.

They tell us "Kerry's rich" and Kerry tells us "yeah, and I'm going to tax myself to help you. Oh, and did I mention that I was rich enough to get out of Vietnam yet showed up and bled for my country anyway?"

It's no mistake that the Kerry campaign brought this out now. They realized that they had an opportunity to take their trickiest issue (thanks to brickheads like Muckdog) and turn it into a swift kick to the nuts.

Sweet.

Thank God. People like Greeenspan and those in Congress who support Bushenomics have a lot to answer for, and history will not treat them kindly. Let's just hope fiscal sanity has been restored and the worst of the damage can be undone.

By the way, think the public is ready for another $100 billion Iraq bill? It's coming...
