What the hell happened to changing the channel, skipping over that section of material or going to a different church?

Obviously, something else was wrong with this person. Terrorizing a children's program wasn't the solution. They could have found a tape of "Regis and Kelly" in the vcr, or "The View", or even "America's Got Talent". Whose to say what ticks a crazy off. Maybe he saw Rider Strong of "Boy Meets World" holding that egg with the chick. Anyway, doctors will hopefully learn something from this crazy. Problem is, these type of people will rarely seek help, they just snap a go looking for trouble. Innocents usually pay the price.

We daily see the same sort of seething hatred emanating from these very pages.

Posted by onar at July 29, 2008 05:07 AM

Golly gee, of course right wing haters didn't pull the trigger; they only provided the target, the motive and the encouragement (see photo). How could they know there are crazies out there just looking for an excuse, which the haters happily provided? Who knew something could go wrong?

Posted by iamcoyote at July 29, 2008 07:13 AM

Right, Petey. Meanwhile, it's all the unicorns and rainbows fault for all those liburls wanting to sing kumbaya.

It's fucking terrorism, pure and simple. You all have 'plausible deniability' when the deranged pick up a weapon and do as you imply.

This is the focusing and amplification of maladjusted behaviour of key disturbed individuals. And conservative gasbags are unwilling to take responsibility for their words in directing sick bastards to attack innocent people, hiding behind free speech, acting as though the 1st Amendment absolves them of responsibility for their words.

It's called incitement, you lazy, treacherous liars.

Since they did not find a copy of the lovely Ann Colter's "Godless: The Church of Liberalism" at the loyal Fox fan's lair, I'll bet he was a misogynist too.

Posted by TIKI AL at July 29, 2008 08:01 AM

In Steve Singiser diary he talks how Molly Ivins predicted this.

Bubba listens to Limbaugh because Limbaugh gives him someone to blame for the fact that Bubba is getting screwed...Because Bubba understands he's being shafted, even if he doesn't know why or by whom, he listens to Limbaugh. Limbaugh offers him scapegoats. It's the "feminazis". It's the minorities. It's the limousine liberals. It's all these people with all these wacky social programs to help some silly, self-proclaimed bunch of victims.

It's called incitement...

Damn straght it is!

Posted by Seven of Six at July 29, 2008 08:12 AM

Wonder if this right-wing terrorism will get included in the terror "stats". Souldn't "someone" in our "press" ask our Fatherland Security director Chertoff about that? Ah, why bother....

The downside benefit of the FISA capitulation will be increased ability to monitor wingnut emails and telecoms without warrants to theoretically prevent this type of right-wing white-male terror as it (inevitably) increases in the coming years.

Researchers have basically concluded that political "views" are personality driven. The right attracts violent authoritarians, mostly white males, a large percent of whom are quite dangerous and crazy. We will ignore this huge problem because only hated lib'ruls are at risk, of course.

Just more of the wages of hate paid by peter McPutz's party of psychotic monsters.

The corporatocracy thrives with a divided citizenry. The right wing sound machine (FOX, Rush, Savage, Hannity, O'Reilly) is tasked with the job of keeping that dissention going. A little collateral damage is unavoidable.

Unfortunately, much of their audience is ignorant, frustrated and easily manipulated. Perhaps, someday, they will awaken to the reality that it is the plutocrats who are stealing the Treasury blind and driving their standard of living into the toilet.

Posted by brisa at July 29, 2008 08:42 AM

Anyone who has purchased a book by Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, or Colter must be fitted with ankle monitors immediately and any weapons removed from their trailors.

Get real.

People who seethe with anger at others seek out those who will articulate and reinforce their hatred. Years ago they didn't have many sources -- maybe the John Birch advertisement in their local paper or to join a local hate group. Now they have many such sources -- radio, on-line, books, newspaper columns. I'm not talking about people who advocate conservative viewpoints -- I'm talking about people who advocate the killing and/or torture of those who they see as enemies of conservatism.

Yes, if you dig in comments or user diaries or on little-visited blogs you can find people who call themselves liberal advocating violence and death to conservatives. But you won't find leading liberal sites pushing for violence -- nor will you find it on Air America. But to find a Conservative saying that you need only go to the top conservatives sites -- LGF or FR, Townhall and NRO -- the leading conservative radio shows -- Savage, North, Limbaugh ("don't kill all of them") -- the best-selling conservative books.

The difference is in the rhetoric -- for many conservatives the final solution to the problem is death of liberals.

Idio, I did call it terrorism in the second sentence.

As far as those targeted, seems he still picked a church. It's pretty crazy to be looking for confirmed liberals in a church...there are better places to find them. I've read that he was pissed at having to attend church each and every Sunday too. Several factors are most likely involved, many. Trying to narrow the scope to just those people like the many of you does this an injustice. Any other conjecture is pure made up. Just fishing if you will. Get real, you're giving crazies more credits than they deserve.

Posted by peter at July 29, 2008 10:34 AM

"you're giving crazies more credits than they deserve."

It happens around here all the time. Oh crap, I'm doing it right now.

You really are brain-damaged, aren't you, ya fuckwad? Imagine finding liberals...in a liberal church. Once again, you're an apologist for an American terrorist (and why not, it's a 'puke tradition).

I know a fun game - let's all talk like petey - all you gotta do is say "I read somewhere" and pretend like it's the truth.

I'll start - I read somewhere that petey blows goats. It's true! He also supports the killing of children. I read it somewhere, so it must be true. Loads of fun, huh?

Posted by iamcoyote at July 29, 2008 11:05 AM

I read it somewhere, so it must be true.

One of my ill father's favorite lines used to be, "I believe everything I read! I write it down... read it... then believe it!"

Posted by Seven of Six at July 29, 2008 11:42 AM

Yeah, SoS; unfortunately, in goatblowerpetey's case, he reads Michele Malkin and believes everything she says. Apparently, the goatblower's words are almost exactly the same as hers and the other terrorist-supporting right wing bloggers' spew.

Posted by iamcoyote at July 29, 2008 11:47 AM

My dad used to say, "I don't believe anything I hear, and half of what I see".

"Probably..shit in the piano wire" was another one of his wise utterings.

Posted by TIKI AL at July 29, 2008 11:49 AM

"Probably..shit in the piano wire"

Oh crap TIKI, I spewed my tea when I read that!!

coyote, I knew someday the merchants of hate would drive some wingnut over the fucking edge.
Let's lock them all up!

Posted by Seven of Six at July 29, 2008 11:58 AM

I'm drawing a blank on the piano wire thing...I guess you hadda be there?

Yeah, SoS, I've read Orcinus for years, and this kind of thing is not only predictable, but it's going to get worse with a Dem prez, as it has in the past. With a 'puke prez, the wingnuts don't seem to hate gov't as much, because they know the 'puke in the WH hates it as much as they do and will do anything to destroy it. Bush is their GOD! But when Obama gets in, the hate groups are really going to fire up, with support from people like petey, because instead of putting anti-war groups on watch lists, we'll start watching the home-grown right wing terrorists again. Hopefully, with Obama's newfound powers to spy on anyone he damn well pleases, these shits will be easy to smoke out.

Posted by iamcoyote at July 29, 2008 12:24 PM

uRcoyote!: It's extremely sophisticated humor. Example of usage:
Dad: "When are you going to move that dam transmission so I can park my car in the garage again?"

little tiki: "Probably tomorrow."

Dad: "Probably? ...Probably shit in the piano wire."

I remember a show in Aruba starring a local girl and her goat's peter.

Posted by TIKI AL at July 29, 2008 12:33 PM

Obviously, something else was wrong with this person.

Yep. He was a gun toting republi-con. That was the first clue he was unstable. The rest just fell into place.

Posted by phidipides at July 29, 2008 01:07 PM

Dad: "Probably? ...Probably shit in the piano wire."

You know, that still doesn't give me a clue. Or is that the point? It's a nonsensical statement. Oy.

At least the Aruba one is clear! Sadly.

Funny story: it looks like the killer saw that sort of seething hatred emanating from Oh?Really?, Hannity, and the clowns at Faux Snooze. I wonder why onar seems to be distracting from the facts of the case here, and using this as an excuse to tar liberals?

They could have found a tape of "Regis and Kelly" in the vcr, or "The View", or even "America's Got Talent". Whose to say what ticks a crazy off.

Um, the police say that, in this case, if they would have found a tape in the vcr, it would have been filled with propaganda catapultation from Faux Snooze. Funny how chupacabra fondler pants pissing peter can only imagine crazed gunmen would have had been watching liberal shows when he makes Putsch fellating comments on a progressive blog. Why, it's almost as though he's trying to drop a turd in the punchbowl at the party he's crashing...

Oh, and I heard a friend of a friend of a friend of the chupacabra say that peter used to blow goats, but now he's moved on to something more challenging.

Posted by (: Tom :) at July 29, 2008 01:15 PM

but now he's moved on to something more challenging.

Yikes! Lock up your mules! As another rightwinger once said - they're many a Southern gents' first wife.

Posted by iamcoyote at July 29, 2008 01:29 PM

No respectible mule or donkey would let a repub near him/her for the sake of the party. However, I believe you have prolly shamed peter into not doing goats anymore.

Prolly? Prolly shit in the piano wire.
