The Beltway is made up of the upper- and mid-level hirelings of the corporate rulings class. Their jobs are all pretty much designed to protect and promote the interests of the corporate ruling class.

In their view, 'divisive' means anyone who disagrees with whatever the corporate ruling class wants.

Similarly, 'partisan' means when the Democrats work together on anything other than rolling over for the Republicans.

We can elect whomever we choose, but until we rid the Beltway and the corporate press/media of the courtiers, we are going to get the same policies out of the government.

at one time (in 2000) the justice dept's reputation was pretty much stellar for neutrality. now, hacks, unqualified sychophants, snake oil salesmen, etc. line its hallowed halls.

please let the door hit them where their collective asses split them on their way out.

yes Mary, that 80% is pretty close to the 77% who don't approve of Bush's "performance". But they don't particularly realize WHY they think the country is on the wrong path....I mean, they see their mortgage crash, they pay $4 for gas, they pay lots more for groceries and they know it sucks, but they aren't making the total connection to the all-encompassing mistakes and crooked policy the Republican Party has brought us...Bush being simply the figurehead, the patsy, if you will. Thats why the Democratic nominee is barely ahead of a guy who will clearly continue all the problems that have produced the 80% dissatisfaction. And the GOP controlled Media is responsible for keeping that connection as murky as possible. Calling us divisive when we are indeed united is part of that tactic.

Anthony, they should be prosecuted, but we all know that is unlikely. Breaking the law is no longer a criminal act (until a Democrat does it, that is).

T2, your premise is right on. People will go to the polls in November and vote for McCain. Remember, the average intelligence is set at 100, which means millions fall below that line.

"That's why the Dem nominee is barely ahead of a guy who will clearly continue all the problems that have produced the 80% dissatisfaction".

It really cannot be stated any better or more clearly than that.

You fine people seem to disconnect Congress from this wrong direction number. Who sets the agenda in Congress? The wrong direction number applies to them too.

Hey Judith, catch Leno last night?

..John Edwards asks Kobe Bryant, 'What's a good jewelry store?'

Or Conan?

..O'BRIEN: I'm sure many of you have heard the rumors about former Sen. John Edwards having a secret love child with a woman who used to work for him. Yeah, and when the story first broke, Edwards denied it. One of his former political aides claimed that it was he, not Edwards, that had made the woman pregnant. Well since then however the woman has confided that Edwards actually is her baby's father. And last week The National Enquirer caught Edwards visiting the woman in a hotel.

I want to talk about this just for a second. Now, I don't know about you but I find this whole thing really disgusting.

What kind of a guy would cheat on his wife, make another woman pregnant, and then still pretend to be an upstanding family man?

(Cut to shot of Max Weinberg)

It's ridiculous. I mean, I guess some jerks, in the public eye think they can do whatever sleazy little they feel like doing and then just scurry away like a weasel.

(Cut to shot of Max Weinberg)

Now only a spineless dirtbag would leave his trusting wife at home and then sneak off for a quickie with his out of town baby mama. It just makes me sick.

(Cut to shot of Max Weinberg)

A guy who probably spends less money supporting his army of illegitimate kids than he does on imitation Italian suits and over-priced hair gel.

(Cut to shot of Max Weinberg)

And rather... rather than take responsibility for his despicable actions, he gets some underling to take the heat for him, some innocent, insignificant schlub too stupid to realize he's being used.

(Cut to shot of LaBamba)

If you are as outraged as I am by all this, please address your angry emails to: cowardlyadulteroussleazeball@NBC.com

The Leno line was funny. Conan...eh. Seems someone thinks there's something there. Your KC newspaper's wondering where the law suit is? Proof is in the law suit.

Peter, you must think Edwards has no integrity and is really stupid to go sneaking around hotel halls to have a romantic interlude with a lover. Give me a break. Politics of Destruction, by Karl Rove.

Posted by Judith at July 30, 2008 08:05 PM

Judith, in my eyes, with what I've read from you here, you've got mounds more integrity than John Edwards. Anyone who cheats on his wife is stupid. I'm sure you'll agree with that. And "if" he'll cheat on his wife, he'll sneak around some hotel in LA. Legit news services are on the trail now. There are enough circumstances to go either way right now. Maybe a little more for the charge than against. We'll see what they come up with, hopefully soon. I know you'll probably doubt the news services authenticity or reliability. We'll just have to see.

I'm feeling more for his wife, Elizabeth and children. What an awful thing to put them through. Here, they've lost a child, brother and their mother is very sick. That's the tragedy here. I would hope for their sakes he didn't do this. That would be the best way this comes out. That he didn't do this. And the NE has to pay for the falsehoods.

I think you're meaning the politics of personal destruction. His want to end poverty is a great endeavor, if only he really put his heart and soul into it. He hasn't. He didn't represent NC too well. He wasn't going to win re-election in 2004. Thankfully, John Kerry came around and picked him for his VP.
