Jeff, isn't this what you wanted? Lower troop losses in Iraq. Wasn't that what all that movement was for last year? Let's get our troops out so that we're not the targets we were. Violence is down, virtually nothing in Iraq and now Afghanistan is the call. The Marines never changed their deployment times only the Army. And I bet, the Army deployment times will be reduced again real soon. Petraeus will be adjusting those as he takes over CentCom command.
Now, looking at Afghanistan, hasn't that operation been conducted in the Democrats way of modern war. Going there with NATO or UN involvement. A world body each pitching in to police the bad guys. Well the UN and NATO have been fighting this battle in Afghanistan your way. Now, casualties are more than the US run Iraq. Wonder why, "Democrats just know the "right thing" to do." And we are doing the Democrats "right thing" in Afghanistan.
Not to worry, Troops that have learned the way in Iraq are now being redeployed into Afghanistan. They have the experience from Iraq to help them. AQ has pulled out all it's leadership from AQI. They've brought them back the the Afghan theater because their home front is being threatened. "Let's rally all our forces to defend the home front...the boss." Yeah, things are heating up there. Soon, very soon AQ there will be crushed, vanquished by our well prepared troops coming from Iraq.
Thanks for confirming the surge has worked Jeff. 12 killed in Iraq with only 8 from hostile fire. Yep, Petraeus has done the job Democrats approved him for back in February of 07. He will do the job they will approve him for in CentCom command.
