On White House stationary and at the direction of Bush, George Tenet delivered to the CIA instructions to write a fake letter that Iraq had WMD, in Suskind's new book. His sources are 'not off the record' sources.
Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 05:20 AMI wonder if George, Tenet, Cheney, Rove, etc. thinks people will keep their mouths shut forever?
Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 05:23 AMGregory (in front of the WH) said this morning that the WH said Susskind is a "sleazy journalist" and his claim is "ridiculous."
Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 05:49 AMThe Next Smear Against Obama: "Infanticide"
Catholic voters should steel themselves to hear Barack Obama accused of "infanticide" this fall. Support for that heinous crime is the latest charge being cooked up against a Democratic nominee by the man who helped to paint John Kerry as unworthy of the communion wafer back in 2004, Deal Hudson.
The justification for Hudson's misleading
"infanticide" charge stems from a proposed state version of the federal Born Alive Infant Protection Act, debated in Illinois when Obama was a state senator in 2001. The most well-publicized portion of that bill would have required that any "viable" fetus surviving a late-term abortion receive sustaining medical care (something which opponents of that bill said was already required by a 1975 bill in the state). But because Obama voted "no" in committee and "present" on the Senate floor, Hudson reasons, Obama must have been in favor of killing viable, born babies -- especially since the U.S. Congress also passed a "born alive" measure in 2002 in near unanimous fashion.

Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 06:10 AMJudith--I heard the same thing and it just made me sick.
Yesterday I was listening to Tom Hartman (I think that's who it was) and he was talking about the right painting Obama as the anti-Christ, using biblical references (that are made up in some cases) and other scare tactics. And some people will believe this shit. And instead of staying home because they can't stand McCain, they'll go out and vote for him. Unbelievable.
Posted by CG at August 5, 2008 06:10 AMNow Obama, when this campaign comes out painting you as a 'baby killer,' be sure to respond in a nice and polite manner.
Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 06:12 AMDid you see the interview with Nancy Pelosi at USA Weekend magazine??? She like the word “entrepreunerial” a lot…
All in all, the weasel who hasn’t done squat about anything!!
Except write about what a great inspiration she is…in her mind!!
And she’s foisted this jerk Obama on us to cap her career!!
Nancy Pelosi Talks about Hillary during an Interview about Her New Book “Know Your Power: A Message to America’s Daughters” (Ironic Title, Isn’t It?)

CG, the phase "they will do anything to win this election" has lost all meaning, as it has been used time and time again. When you stop an fully internalize the phase, it become real. THEY WILL DO ANYTHING.
Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 06:27 AM“Know Your Power: A Message to America’s Daughters”
The only power Pelosi has is to teach "America's Daughters" to lean over and....
Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 06:34 AMAnd here's another campaign tactic:
Gergen: McCain Using Code Words To Attack Obama As "Uppity"
David Gergen took umbrage with John McCain's recent attack ads, charging that the Senator was using coded messaging to paint Barack Obama as "outside the mainstream" and "uppity."
"There has been a very intentional effort to paint him as somebody outside the mainstream, other, 'he's not one of us,'" said Gergen. I think the McCain campaign has been scrupulous about not directly saying it, but it's the subtext of this campaign. Everybody knows that. There are certain kinds of signals. As a native of the south, I can tell you, when you see this Charlton Heston ad, 'The One,' that's code for, 'he's uppity, he ought to stay in his place.'
Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 07:03 AMevenin' all:
i find it pretty amazing that routing car maitenance is being laughed at by the repubs. a tune up and proper tire inflation are great examples of keeping up estimated gas mileage. it's written in my owner's manual for geebus' sakes.
the more i see all of this bulls**t ads and the more i read how j. mac's flips are getting greased by the msm, and now the *outrage* for telling american's to keep their cars maintained is causing me to readily lose faith in the collective intelligence of the country i call my home.
there are so many bikes, mopeds, scooters, and small cars over here, due to gas prices (the roads are small as shit too) but you bitch about $4/ gal gas, try paying 1.10 euro a liter. that's close to $7/ gal.
evenin' all:

apologize for the double.
Posted by anthony at August 5, 2008 07:15 AMIt is so Bayh, it's not even funny.
So when did Obama become Bill Clinton circa 1992?
Posted by idiosynchronic at August 5, 2008 07:52 AMAnother simple line. Mr. Straight Talker isn't telling you the truth.
On August 4, 2008 John McCain said he wants us to drill off shore right now. On June 12,2008 he was against drilling off shore. What does he really believe. John McCain.... Erratic and Angry.
ERRACTIC AND ANGRY is how the Democrats should paint McSame.
Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 08:08 AMJudith, is there no one else to shrill against McCain?
Anthony, as you said, it's written in you owners manual. It's estimated only about 25% of American vehicles are driving on under inflated tires. You're not going to get very much out of that stuff. It's important to do, keep your tire inflated, etc. But doing all that you're supposed to do with vehicle maintenance, will not offset the need for more oil, American oil to end our dependence on foreign oil.
Drilling more here will put more people to work here. Higher paying jobs mining the steel, making more rigs, servicing the rigs. It will lower the delivery time, closer sources. And Americans selling to Americans can sell at a lower price then the world price of oil. Look to the Saud's, look at the people under Hugo Chavez. The price of gas in both of those countries are under $1.00. Our prices can be lower quickly. We can see "change" in months not years in the price of gas.
Posted by peter at August 5, 2008 08:33 AMYou're not going to get very much out of that stuff.
Yeah. Only a savings of 800,000 bbls/d from properly inflated tires and fresh sparkplugs. If we drill Anwar today we can get 700,000 bbls/d in 10 years.
And Americans selling to Americans can sell at a lower price then the world price of oil.
Exxon has 23 billion barrels of reserves that cost them $5.50 a barrel to bring to market. I'm glad they're selling it cheaper.
Look to the Saud's, look at the people under Hugo Chavez.
Priced from their own nationalized reserves. If you propose nationalizing big oil (and with your socialist bailouts of big money interests I can understand why you would support it), count me in.
Unfortunately, the U.S. doesn't have the oil reserves to compete. Plug holes in every square inch of soil and and there isn't enough. We use way too much.
The quickest payout is conservation. Drive 55 mph and you save 4,000,000 bbls/d. Properly inflate your tires and you get 800,000 bbls/d. Increase fuel efficiency standards and get another 4,000,000 bbls/d.
If drilling was going to do it, why haven't the oil companys drilled on their exisiting leases? Tell you what, get the oil companys to drill their existing leases and I'll throw-in on Anwar and offshor. K?
Posted by phidipides at August 5, 2008 09:05 AMand now this damning book:
EXCLUSIVE: Interview with David Freddoso, Author of
'The Case Against Barack Obama.'
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=27865&s=rcme
Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 09:12 AM'The Case Against Barack Obama.'
"The main lesson is that Barack Obama’s record, throughout his career, demonstrates conclusively that he has never been a reformer, that this image of “change and hope” that he projects is really a great lie. In fact there’s never been a single time in Senator Obama’s political career where he did something that was difficult and would cost him politically for the sake of needed reforms and change."
"Just to give a few examples from my book, chapter one discusses at length Sen. Obama’s support for and alliances with Chicago machine politicians, that’s chapters one and two.
"The “political machine” is all about using the apparatus of the government treasury, using the taxpayer’s money to keep yourself in power permanently. You put your political cronies on the payroll to help yourself get elected and re-elected and then when you’re in power you get to do things like steer pension funds and investment to benefit your pals. All of this stuff was going on."
"Obama’s very much about the old politics, and he’s very much not a reformer. It shouldn’t be a surprise except the only surprise is that he has managed to project this reformer image."
"There are many, many more detailed revelations about Barack Obama -- the stealth liberal, his lack of knowledge of the world and his plans to bankrupt America."
Gee, nice that this book is released just 3 months before the election. When will the pediphile stories start appearing?
Posted by Judith at August 5, 2008 09:25 AMWait till Reverend Wright's book out in October of 2008. That is unless Trinity United hasn't brought his silence off by their building a $1.6 million retirement home for him.
Judith, I left you a link from John Kerry's hometown newspaper. Did you look at what he did "for" the lower income groups in Illinois? This is the tragedy that is Barack Obama. So much promise, so little results, and the results there are are "grim".
Posted by peter at August 5, 2008 10:03 AMDid you look at what he did "for" the lower income groups in Illinois?
And those involved in the issue say Obama was not the problem. He just supported housing for the poor. Those responsible for ensuring the projects were properly managed fell on their face.
Now, let's talk about the Keating 5 and how everyone in the United States got screwed by Johnny "the Lump" McCain. BTW: Why don't veterans support him? Many mysteries, indeed.
Posted by phidipides at August 5, 2008 10:24 AMPhid, what am I to do with you. Keating five, that's so 80's. Didn't Dan Quayle have something to do with that one too? He was our vice president. Whatever McCain's role in that scandal has been dealt with already. He's already fallen on that sword enough. Aren't you Democrats all about forgiveness? People rehabbing themselves? I guess not, at least not in practice, just a bunch of hot air?
Posted by peter at August 5, 2008 10:31 AMAren't you Democrats all about forgiveness?
Not me. I'm all about retribution for republi-cons shitting on the Constitution.
Comparing McCain to an addict is like comparing Hitler to a jaywalker. It doesn't work. Hey, how's about that oil company administrative assistant who gave $28,000 to McCain but has to rent an apartment. A giving sort of person, eh?
Posted by phidipides at August 5, 2008 10:49 AMUsing "the One" as some racist code word, as Gergen did, is idiotic.
The first person to call Obama "the ONE" was Oprah Winfrey.
Gergen is a moron.
Posted by Mary at August 5, 2008 11:20 AM"...talking about the right painting Obama as the anti-Christ, using biblical references (that are made up in some cases) and other scare tactics...."
and we wonder why that right-wing nutjob murdered people at the Unitarian church in Knoxville
and Mary, do you blow goats like pants pissing peter does?
Posted by gay veteran at August 5, 2008 11:31 AMAh yes, Dan Quayle, one who (if indeed possible) stupider than George Bush.
I don't remember dan being involved in the Keating 5. First of all, why would these wheelers and dealers want a stupid doofus involved?
Didn't Obama say back in May that he planned on making the Keating Five Scandal an issue for McCain?
