Doesn't the MSM's holding off on any stories about Edwards prove their bias towards Democrats? Sure looks that way. And notice where Edwards chose to go to get this out...ABC. In another thread someone was happy ABC didn't get a debate this season, yet Edwards went to ABC, a friendly face.
Posted by peter at August 9, 2008 04:14 AMRight.
What part of, "Paying for stories", don't you understand? The traditional media has for decades refused to traffic in news stories involving the payment of sources. You can call it an ethical imperative, or an issue of new vs. old media - there are probably a host of reasons, nevermind the whole image of UFO's & Elvis. . .
Why do I bother? This is like explaining patience to a stubborn toddler.
Posted by idiosynchronic at August 9, 2008 06:57 AMBernie Mac, one of the Original Kings of Comedy, has passed from this earth. I hope they have a great service befitting a man who made many laugh. RIP

Posted by gay veteran at August 9, 2008 07:37 AMCome on Idio, the MSM accepted his denial as fact, none of that digging that Woodward did in 1972. The LATimes even cut off their bloggers from talking about the topic. Thay came out with this "the third floor is working on it." Only Mickey Kaus over at Slate kept this story moving.
His time line is also getting holes shot through it. Man, had they awakened when the NE story came out on the 21st, this would have been dealt with weeks ago. They stayed away, kept their powder dry and now look like dunces.
No, this was a let the Democrat slide until just everybody has the story, then we'll do something. Mark Foley, Senator "foot taper" they cover and dig into those. Saintly John Edwards, populist John Edwards, nah, his word is his bond. We'll let this slide, hopefully away, it is the NE after all. Wonder what else they're letting slide? Who's words they accept over others?
Posted by peter at August 9, 2008 08:07 AMHere, here sharon, his passing is a loss for the many. What a skill he had to get people to laugh. Very endearing, engaging, and a funny man.
Posted by peter at August 9, 2008 08:30 AMSenator Obama has a new advertisement. You can see it here:
http://maggiesfarm.anotherdotcom.com/archives/9114-Leave-Barack-alone!.html
Posted by Bagley at August 9, 2008 08:55 AMK. So this is how it goes. According to John Amato, we have a few problems with republi-cons: Forged documents to start a war of aggression and occupation; FOX News gets talking points from the White House; Bush authorized rendition; Bush authorized torture; Bush authorized a war based on lies resulting in millions of innocent Iraqi and Afghani civilian deaths as well as an ethnic cleansing; Thousands of our troops have been killed or seriously injured; The US dollar is in the tank; The housing/mortgage crisis has almost caused a depression; Constitution trampled with warrantless wiretapping; Laptops are being confiscated at airports and the border; Oil companies are raking in record profits while Americans suffer; The US attorney scandal; A health care epidemic; Monica Goodling; Military TV Analysts/Generals scandal and a list that goes on and on...
Wait a second! Over there! John Edwards had a consensual heterosexual affair with someone who wasn't a prostitute.
"The republi-cons are motherfu ...'BINGGGGG'... look over there! John Edwards got laid!"
You mean to say Suskind released tapes of an administration official confirming the bogus document?
"Suskind supports that republi-cons are motherfu ...'BINGGGG'... look over there! Edwards may have gotten blown!"
Senator Obama has a new advertisement.
I like this oldie from McCain.
Posted by phidipides at August 9, 2008 10:15 AM"...lies resulting in millions of innocent Iraqi and Afghani civilian deaths..."
Millions?
Come on, phidipides, just go for it and claim that the entire population of Iraq and Afghanistan are now dead because of the evil ChimpyBushMsHitlerBurton regime.
Posted by Bagley at August 9, 2008 11:26 AMCome on, phidipides...
Amato probably got it from the Lancet study. Git an issue? Take it up with him. And glad to see you have no problem agreeing with everything else!!
McCain 08 "Show us your tits!"
Posted by phidipides at August 9, 2008 12:10 PMThe Lancet study was discredited and then the authors of the study began to back-track on their conclusions.
But even at that, phidipides, there was to claim to "millions" of casualties. But, hey, do not let that stop you: go ahead and claim that the populations of both Iraq and Afghanistan have been reduced to even less than zero (!) by the evil ChimpyBushMsHitlerBurton regime.
Posted by Bagley at August 9, 2008 12:22 PM...and claim that the populations of both Iraq and Afghanistan have been reduced to even less than zero (!)...
I get it now! You think that about 12 people live in both countries. Extraordinarily stupid, even for you. Their combined populations are around 60 million people with Afghanistan having the larger population.
Posted by phidipides at August 9, 2008 01:13 PM"You think that about 12 people live in both countries."
Well, at the rate that Lefties keep inflating the casualty count, this might be the reported population (sooner rather than later).
Posted by Bagley at August 9, 2008 01:48 PMThere's another shoe to drop. Apparantly the great O is riding himself of all the other deck chairs. Atlantic Mag. has some 200 internal emails from the Clinton campaign. Seemingly there's something that shouldn't see the light of day contained in them. All of them will be on the net in about a week. Convenient how both of these stories are happening during the Olympics. And two headaches go away.

Hello Hillary!
Posted by Bagley at August 9, 2008 05:07 PMSince there isn't an open thread for today yet...just a bugme bigtime rant.
Now I like watching the Olympics..well parts of it such as the athletes performances in sports like gymnastics, swimming, track and field....but I absolutely positively despise the fact that Nero and his ladies are over there apparently using the media to upstage all the athletes (complete with frat house footage and multiple pictures of the Boyking hanging around the US athletes either glaring enviously at their medals and/or arses...for the later see women's beach volleyball) Gawd get the eff out of there Junior and family...you've got absolutely no business over there except as murkan tourist...this is about the athletes, not you or your swan song lame duck worst preznit evah legacy rehab tour. And the media should stop giving him any spotlight at all.... everytime NBC even cuts to pictures of them I immediately barf and turn the station and watch something else.
Okay... done I despise Nero Worst preznit evah rant.
