Paradox, as usual you said it all.

Sorry, when you speak about un-vetted, you seem to forget Barrack Obama himself. Two days ago, he said the the surge worked "beyond our wildest dreams." I cannot imagine (and I mean this literally) a 'dumber' remark that also happens not to be true. Not only did that remark make it evident that he does partially condone the war (remember in his famous iraq speech he called the Iraq war dumb, as if there are smart wars out there somewhere to be had), but he has given the Repugs the ultimate sound bite. Can you imagine how many times this is going to play in ads in the swing states? Only an un-vetted candidate whose claim to fame is winning an election against Alan Keyes (if I have his name correct) could have said something this foolish. In fact, I would not be surprised that this remark, once it makes it into the McCain ads, will be responsible for the election of war criminal John McCain, yes, those who support and foster an illegal war are co-conspirators, check the Nuremberg trials for reference. The Democrats have not learned that they are blinded by race. Not because they really care about race, but because it is a handy excuse to never truly address the problem of class. Anecdotely, I do not know a single trust funder (and I happen to know many) who is not wooed by Barrack. Unfortunately, Barrack would have made a wonderful candidate if he'd waited eight years. My opinion: Hillary was attacked because she was a woman, but the bigger catalyst behind that was class. She married what the Left still subconsciously considers trailer trash: Bill Clinton. Sexism played a big role, but as we shall with Sarah Palin, sexism will backfire as long as they are part of the Republican establishment. As Reagan said: here we go again. I've watched this scenario play out over and over (and I go back to Eugene McCarthy). The Left nominates a prep school educated, Ivy elite with zero track record of winning elections over two proven masters. They pretend they are doing it because of race and political correctness (and believe their own lies) but are really doing it to protect their wealth and status. Barrack is, after all, one of them. That said, I'm donating every penny that I can afford, once again, to his campaign.

McCain said this election would be about personality. Obama said it'll be about issues. McCain is right. They've been ripping Obama for months, while the dems have praised McCain as honorable. It's time to point out that the republicans have mocked community service, mocked people working together to better their own lives--something that is supposedly a republican ideal. He should point out that McCain allowed his convention to be free of substance and full of contempt for ordinary people who benefit from community organizing. Continue to go after the issues, but he's got to get some personality jabs in there too. Oh, and point out Sarah Palin's cronyism and how she leave a trail of fired ordinary working-class people in her wake wherever she goes.

The thing is, they get away with EVERYTHING. Ass-raping us for eight years with Chimpy McFucktard? Hey, no problem. He's a regular guy!

Really, we've already been living under the most vapid, vicious, corrupt "leader" imaginable. Why not a hot babe with zero national experience? I mean, she's hot!

Sorry, I'm having an extremely cynical morning. Part of me just thinks nothing short of total destruction - i.e. the pukes' fondest dream, turning this country into Haiti - will wake Joe Murka up. Hell, maybe not even that.

Posted by Sharkbabe at September 6, 2008 09:22 AM

Pukes: Here, have another war. For your protection. Oh, and you like tripled gas prices? Good, cuz we're gonna triple em again. (*Dumbass fucking serfs. Is there no limit to their stupidity?*)

MSM-narcotized America: Woo-hoo! USA! USA! USA! USA! Drill baby drill!

Posted by Sharkbabe at September 6, 2008 09:31 AM

Hey Doxie, you missed the 500 dead in Afghanistan.

And gas in my neighborhood is $3.33 this morning.

Obama is/was the "anybody but Clinton" person this year. How many crossovers voted for this person for just that reason? Clinton was still able to garner more votes, but, alas the dye was set. Then this learned candidate doesn't realize how much he needs her and picks a safe guy in Biden. Lets put old against old must have been the logic. Gone are the "change" and "hope" messages now. "I need votes."

Charlie up there has one of the money quotes: "he said the the surge worked "beyond our wildest dreams."" Why vote for Obama when even he agrees with McCain. Aren't we looking for someone to deal with today's decisions, conditions and not on who said what back in 2002?

Why won't he campaign against McCain alone? Bush isn't running any more. The anybody but Bush campaign failed so miserably in 2004. Recycling it when he's not running just makes so much sense now doesn't it? I guess if one had a record or experience one would run for something and not against something.

Then there's this left over from the event at Denver's Mile High Stadium. They weren't all that green, well maybe they were, just not so red, white, and blue. A member of the cleanup crew rescued a bunch of US Flags from the dumpsters on there way to land fills. Sure everyone took their souvenir hand held flags home, but what of those larger flags? Obama needing to cover the event brought more than 12,000 of them. Those didn't get recycled by anyone, not even the campaign! They are being recycled now, by Republicans!

There's going to be an event in Colorado Springs with McCain and Palin. Those flags are going to be recycled by the many in attendance there after they have been brought on stage and displayed for the masses, news crews too for sure. The McCain/Palin ticket will surely keep many to bring with them to other events across the country. What a visual, pulling US Flags out of the trash that Democrats dumped. Shame Democrats didn't consider this while trying to be green.

Paradox, you scored high on the Troll-O-Meter with this post (i.e. how many trolls are forced to respond to counter the truth)
I understand your disgust with the "American journalism corps" but I think you are looking at the tree, not the forrest....Firstly, most of the people you are most disgusted with are Announcers, not journalists....there is a huge difference. Secondly, most of these people work for a living (an in some cases a damn good one) at the mercy of Mega-Corporations closely aligned with Republican Party interests. They present the programs as they are told. If they do not, they'll be replaced with someone more pliable....Is this any different from my job? No it is not. My boss tells me what she wants done, and it is my job to do it. If I don't, I'm done. Brian Williams will be riding a bike if he doesn't toe the Corporate Party Line. It's a matter of a Porche instead of a bike.

By my count there's only one here. Charlie says he's "I'm donating every penny that I can afford, once again, to his campaign." Not very high yet.

I'm touched, finally a joint appearance and a suspension of negative ads will come on September 11th's seventh anniversary. McCain said he won't air any ad that day. It would be nice to hear the same from the Obama campaign.

Wel, McCain would have to suspend ALL his ads if he wants no negative ads on 9/11. Obama could keep all his on air.

No one is mentioning that Fannie and Freddie are being forced into gub'mint receivership for the largest bailout in history?

McDoof: "How'd ya like that Sarah! What a nice Fannie! But what's Freddie?"

Posted by euzoius at September 6, 2008 11:46 AM

Joel, you missed the NYPD in your rant. I guess the police don't count for much to you.

Hey Doxie, if you want to join the big press contingency in Wasilla, here's the place to go:

Trout's Place & Windbreak Cafe

Very simple rooms with a nice cafe and bar nearby. Better go quick, the daylight is shortening. They are the home to the first Super Wal Mart in Alaska .

Did you see the SUSA poll released Friday?

Question eight: Is the media rooting for Barack Obama? Rooting for John McCain? Or trying its best to be fair to both?

Answer:
Margin of Sampling Error: ± 3.1%
Barack Obama 54%
John McCain 8%
Being Fair To Both 35%
Not Sure 4%
Yeah I know that adds up to 101, obviously rounding has occurred.

54% said the media was rooting for Obama, and only 8% said rooting for McCain. (35% said ’trying to be fair to both’). This describes the “Filter” through which voters receive their coverage of the campaign — and means that over half of Americans will have a tendency to see positive coverage/stories about Obama, and negative coverage/stories about McCain, as influenced by media bias…. and are more likely to disregard those stories. (And conversely, bad news for Obama and good news for McCain is seen as more credible.)

SUSA

So much for the biased media theme.

"We were elected to change Washington, and we let Washington change us. We lost the trust of the American people when some Republicans gave in to the temptations of corruption. We lost their trust when rather than reform government, both parties made it bigger." John McCain on Thursday night

He lied here didn't he??? This is just more bs too??? 2006 wasn't the price Republicans paid for the above?

"knows how to crash jets!" You know one of those was the one he was shot down in. And another was the one he was in on the carrier when a mishap happened that killed 134 sailors. He wasn't at all at fault for this mishap. I think you'd better research the other three, if you're able.

Posted by peter at September 6, 2008 12:33 PM

Meanwhile, per a Politico piece, the Anchorage Daily News(McClatchy News) is getting calls from the media about whether Palin cheated her way to victory in the 1984 Miss Wasilla Pageant. Yes, really.

"It's a matter of a Porche instead of a bike."

T2, than I'd take the bike. You either have integrity or you don't. No one could pay me enough to spread the out and out lies of the MSM.

I have been faced twice in my career with either doing the right thing, or keeping my mouth shut and protecting my job. Guess which I chose.

Posted by Judith at September 6, 2008 02:54 PM

Mr. Biden is very much owned by the very financial industries who CAUSED the failures of Fannie Mae. He pushed for most of the legislation that reduced regulations on those industries, enabling Enron-like accounting, predatory lending, and tighter new bankruptcy rules for the middle class.

He HARDLY has any right to stand before the middle class citizens of Scranton and perform an "I care about you" act, when he himself pushed for the very legislation that screwed those middle class Americans.

Did he think those "unwashed, low-information" Scranton voters wouldn't know that?

Did Obama think they wouldn't remember that when he chose him?

Puuuhleeeeeeze.

petie... you really need to take back that post on the flags... you know it's not true... spread by that asshole at FAUX news' Carl Cameron.

Try going to the Denver Post article I linked above. He even updated your Foxnews involvement. No retraction required...the Denver Post stands by their reporting. Foxnews happened on this after the Denver Post had it reported. They were left there for a week, over a week, try again another day.

They were left there for a week, over a week...

Scheduled for storage fuckface!

Posted by Seven of Six at September 6, 2008 09:50 PM

Sorry, they were going to an AIP event in Alaska.

Posted by Seven of Six at September 6, 2008 10:20 PM

Do some research, Paradox, into how involved Joe Biden was in de-regulating these financial corporations and thus, contributing to the corruption and mis-management.

Fannie Mae served the very same banks and financial institutions that own Joe Biden.

Same financial institutions that pushed Biden to enthusiastically support the Bankruptcy Act of 2005, which completely screwed the middle class. And Biden's son was a paid lobbyist at the time, working FOR the financial institutions.

Don't be a low-information voter, Paradox.

Biden is no champion of the middle class. He just plays like he is on Meet the Press.
