she may be an idiot, recent interviews point to that, but she's a pretty idiot and that goes a long way. I think the Eagles had a line or two about that.
Posted by T2 at September 25, 2008 02:01 PMPass. I'll take Tina Fey any day.
Posted by Steve Soto at September 25, 2008 02:08 PMtina fey's cari... mocking... showed more intellect than have all of palin's appearances combined...
Posted by Turkana at September 25, 2008 02:10 PMYou have to admit her youtubes etc are hilarious?
Posted by John at September 25, 2008 02:15 PMjohn,
hilarious until you realize that she could become president...
Posted by Turkana at September 25, 2008 02:16 PMShe could have been any of the characters on the old Carol Burnett show - especially the lady in the Tim Conway segments - the secretary.
I've been seething all day. Every time I see a Republican it's all I can do to not demand an apology for what they have done to us all. They unleashed that demon from hell on us and have destroyed my children's future and my beloved grand daughter.
They were ok with war - their kids weren't fighting, ok with the Patriot Act - "if you haven't done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about", but only when their own
personal pocketbook began to be hurt did they
care. And now, it's too late.
yeah Dianne all that plus Palin....you'd think Obama would be 30% points ahead, huh?
Posted by T2 at September 25, 2008 02:40 PMIf Palin were trying to be evasive, she would lie. She has shown no resistance to doing that so far. Every time she answers like she didn't do the homework, she really didn't do her homework.

He's 1/2 black. I'm satisfied he's ahead. Hopefully, the debates will help end this stagnation.
Posted by DeminNewJ at September 25, 2008 02:52 PMWell, McLiar is no Rhodes scholar, either. (understatement)
They're both a pair of nitwits, firmly convinced in their beliefs, with hers being "righteous" as well.
But the GOoPs like 'em stoopid. Even now, after 8 years of complete failure by a vacant know nothing.
Posted by euzoius at September 25, 2008 03:09 PMI said some time ago that Palin should be allowed to fail on her own. Nobody need pick on her for her history in Alaska. The election is not now and never was about Alaska, polar bears, guns or being on the frontline with Russia (or Canada for that matter).
I think she has taken every opportunity to fail on her own merits...and succeeded.
And I agree what dianne said too.
Posted by gtash at September 25, 2008 03:24 PMPalin is so far over her head she doesn't even know it.
Posted by ann at September 25, 2008 03:32 PMPalin is the mean girl at the center of every high school clique who makes everyone else lend her their homework and makes fun of all the unpopular kids. But then when she can't be surrounded by her group of kool kids and has to act like a grown up, she can't pull it off. I don't know if she's smart or not. It doesn't matter; she didn't have to develop that particular trait. She's always gotten by with lies and snottiness. And Katie Couric, of all people, called her to account.
Posted by Delia at September 25, 2008 03:42 PMyeah Dianne all that plus Palin....you'd think Obama would be 30% points ahead, huh?
No Republican will get less than 40% in a Presidential election in the current climate. And even in the extreme case that the Republican gets that low a percentage it wouldn't happen until close to the election, after the debates.
Too many people mindlessly vote Republican either on religious or tax grounds.
After this election the Democrats should focus on attacking the incredibly effective "tax and spend" label that has been slapped on them. You won't change the religious wacko's viewpoints, but you can win over the tax voters.

That's exactly how much of a fuck John McCain actually gives about this country.

CAPJ: Her problem is she had zero reference points going into this thing...she's a smalltown mom who is more concerned about the number of teaspoons of sugar to put in the cookie batter...all of us here are political junkies that have quite a bit of background in the subject matter...she has none....furthermore she has to defend McOld's record which is flippity floppity at best...it looks good on her that she is so out of touch, because she acts like she's in touch...a.k.a: POSER...and btw turkana, she ain't gwan be the preznit...and steve...tina fey would be my choice as well except that my dear wife already won my black heart!!! LOL
With 30 years of stock market experience, I can say with sound judgement that if a catastrophe were imminent without the bailout, the DJIA would be trading at 1100, not 11,000...it's those pesky mushroom cloud rumors again...CODE Orange everyone the sky is falling....Obama and Biden should stand back and let Mr. Let's take-a-break boffle his way through...they broke it let them fix it!!
Posted by Goyo at September 25, 2008 05:13 PMIt's her absolute conviction that she's so smart that worries me most.
Posted by GreenVTster at September 25, 2008 05:32 PMdeminNJ, he may be half black where you live, but he's all black in lots of other states.

You're making the most of your losing streak.
Some call it sick. I call it weak."

I had two people at work watch the 5 minute Couric/Palin interview clip this morning. It was very interesting to hear the oh my gods and the oh my gods from them as they watched. There was stunned silence when it finished.
I asked them for $700 Billion Dollars. They offered up their wallets.
Palin is so far over her head she doesn't even know it.
Ann, what Miss Smarty Pants doesn't understand is she is being used and is too stupid to figure it out. She actually believes that she was chosen because she is so wonderful. Behind closed doors, they have to be laughing their asses off. Believe me, the power people know they can play her.
Remember Kathlene Harris? Another not too bright woman who got played by the big boys and then promptly dumped.

Short sellers get their bounty. That's what it's all about. It's a lovely rigged casino.
Posted by phidipides at September 25, 2008 07:22 PMA presidential candidate with at best an aging mind or even early dementia.
A vice presidential candidate with an inadequate mind.
Wonderful.
There is only one statement that can logically follow that Couric/Palin interview......
LIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT'S SATURDAY NIIIIIIIIGHT!
