Palin will have a national security emergency and rush home because Putin is flying Russian planes across the Alaska sky. McCain will regretfully announce that she will not beable to participate in the debate due to keeping America safe.

A New Hampshire newspaper announced today that the editorial board of the Keene Sentinel has "decided to 'suspend' our editorial activities today so we can adequately ponder the implications of the economic bailout program."

These are the smartest people in the political press, by far.

Palin said that "dinosaurs and humans walked the Earth at the same time," When asked about prehistoric fossils and tracks dating back millions of years, Palin said "she had seen pictures of human footprints inside the tracks."
Yeah, and I see leprechauns in my backyard at night.

from tpm...

insight into the photo op meeting...

No, Boehner replied, he just wanted his members to have a voice. Obama then jumped in to turn the question on his rival: "What do you think of the [insurance] plan, John?" he asked repeatedly. McCain did not answer.

One Republican in the room said it was clear that the Democrats came into the meeting with a "game plan" aimed at forcing McCain to choose between the administration and House Republicans. "They had taken McCain's request for a meeting and trumped it," said this source.

Congressional aides from both parties were standing in the lobby of the West Wing, unaware of the discord inside the Cabinet room, when McCain emerged alone, shook the hands of the Marines at the door and left. The aides were baffled. The plan had been for a bipartisan appearance before the media, featuring McCain, Obama and at least a firm statement in favor of intervention. Now, one of the leading men was gone.

and he claimed to suspend his campaign to fight for the bill:

how is it that pundits are lowering the bar on s. palin for this vp debate. she's vying for the vp slot for jeebus' sake. why lower the bar for her? wouldn't that be sexist and condescending to expect her to underperform? the leaders of russia, venezuela, iran, not to mention the gender backward saudi's will hold her azz to the fire, so shouldn't we expect her to hold her own in a debate about issues?

she believed dinosaurs walked with humans, though carbon datin-- ahem, science, disproved that long ago. she exhibits more cronyism than gwb's admin. her term as mayor is filled with questionable ethics violations. an apparent affair. and a shotgun wedding for her daughter to a dropout self proclaimed redneck who doesn't want kids.

jj, et al, explain why she should be coddled and why we should expect her to underperform and why it is sexist to expect her to answer fcukin questions?

thanks--

anthony

I certainly hope the IRS goes after these Chruches with the full force of the law. It would be one way to start paying down our taxes.

During sermons this Sunday, some 35 pastors across the country will tell their congregations which presidential candidate they should vote for, "according to the Scriptures."

Their endorsements represent a direct challenge to federal tax law, which prohibits tax-exempt organizations from engaging in partisan political activity.

The clergy have embraced that risk, hoping their actions will trigger an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service, which would then enable a Christian legal advocacy group to take the IRS to court and challenge the constitutionality of the ban.

The Alliance Defense Fund (ADF), a conservative legal group based in Arizona, recruited the pastors for "Pulpit Freedom Sunday" to press their claim that the IRS tax code violates the free speech of religious leaders.

"I have a First Amendment right to say whatever I want to say, and I've never thought it was appropriate that as a pastor I could not share my political concerns with the congregation," says the Rev. Gus Booth, pastor at Warroad Community Church in Warroad, Minn.

Mr. Booth will endorse Sen. John McCain on Sunday, and has already told his congregation that as Christians, they could not vote for Sen. Barack Obama due to his position on abortion...

Palin withdraws today.

Romney as VP Friday.

I'd bet that whatever Hail Mary McPOW tosses this week, Palin will be involved. The amount of press being devoted to the fact Joe Biden will called Condescending for even speaking the words Sarah or Palin on Thursday is at fever pitch. Isn't it funny - the big story out of Friday's Pres debate was McPOW being "condescending" towards Obama. Now, if Biden says one word other than praise, Palin will be handed the victory due to condescension. Seems to me, everyone should be fair game by this point. It also seems to me that Sarah Palin is a lady very used to getting what she wants. I doubt the word "no" is seldom used in her presence. Like McPOW. If Joe Biden does his job, she's liable to blow.

"what hail mary...."

McCain will actually look at Obama onstage? Act like he doesn't smell like a smeared dog shit? Pretend to believe Obama is really the other major party nominee?

Who knows what's next!

Biden should smile at Palin, look her in the eye, agree with a couple platitudes she throws out, and freely savage her on some selected lunacies she's sure to cough out. Most people don't like her, she's not a serious candidate, and the voters who are being "prepared" for outrage over her upcoming "treatment" (i.e. wingnuts and fundamentalists) ain't votin' for Biden anyway.

Or Biden could just not even attempt to "debate" the pinhead points she incoherently attempts to make, no one will likely understand her anyway, based on her past two media "performances". Just say what Team Obama wants to do, and what a disaster more Repub/McClownism would be. He hardly needs to "respond" to the feeble conserva-slogans Palin will utter. Just look at her and smile while talking sense.

And after this "debate" is done, McCain won't ever let her be heard or seen again, even if he wins. Sorry, Tina.

"no one will likely understand her anyway" - right ez. As evidenced by the looks on Katie Couric's face last week, there is simply no train of thought going on when Palin cuts loose. The biggest gift ever given a presidential campaign was the decision to sharply edit the Couric interview. I'd say more people I know saw cuts of it on internet locations than on the Network edition. In short, although lots of people now realize she's a buffoon, a whole lot more haven't had the "pleasure" yet. Thursday they will. Unless the debate is 100% scripted, she'll end up a national laughing stock.

"Yeah, and I see leprechauns in my backyard at night."

Oh come on, everyone knows leprechauns are extinct!

Seriously, I'm glad Palin answered that. I'd wondered if she was one of those idiots who thinks dinosaurs lived side by side with humans like the Flinstones. If that actually had happened, we'd all have been T.Rex chow ages ago.

Either the Palin thing has been a fake out and she'll actually perform ok after they've managed expectations way down or, if she is real, Lieberman will be in her place by Thursday.

Posted by allansfca at September 29, 2008 08:06 AM

Well, even if these "replace Palin" runors are accurate, that would destroy McRage with the Christianist loons, for whom Palin was picked, and look exceptionally bad (judgment-wise) to the independents, wouldn't it?

McRash really shit the bed with this goofball Palin pick, and now he's got to roll around in it as well. What a shame, ha-ha. Sure would be nice to shower the shit off, wouldn't it, McDoof?

Posted by euzoius at September 29, 2008 08:23 AM

Personally i think the moderator will minimize the "debate" part so biden will get little chance at verbally best her.

Mary,

Great topic!

Judith,

Perfect answer in your first responses! Hilarious:-))

Posted by midwestdem at September 29, 2008 09:59 AM

Greup,

Palin's own answers should be enough to ruin her.

What you describe should actually help Biden not look like a bully.

Posted by midwestdem at September 29, 2008 10:01 AM

Biden will focus his fire on McCain. Palin will be an observer.

I'm betting on Bristol having a miscarriage.

Posted by Canuck Stuck in Muck at September 29, 2008 11:46 AM

Mary: "What Hail Mary pass will McCain come up with this week?"

Sarah Palin suddenly drops out, claiming that former President George H.W. Bush plotted to sabotage her daughter Bristol's wedding.
