You are tough as nails. Damn!

Well, okay. And the point of this is what, exactly?

Thanks for the huge laugh. I wanted to tell McCain the same thing. The debates should be interesting.

Palins' Un-American Activities

Imagine if the Obamas had hooked up with a violently anti-American group in league with the government of IRAN!. By David Talbot

Oct. 7, 2008 | "My government is my worst enemy. I'm going to fight them with any means at hand." This was former revolutionary terrorist Bill Ayers back in his old Weather Underground days, right? Imagine what Sarah Palin is going to do with this incendiary quote as she tears into Barack Obama this week. ONLY ONE PROBLEM. The quote is from Joe Vogler, the raging anti-American who founded the Alaska Independence Party. Inconveniently for Palin, that's the very same secessionist party that her husband, Todd, belonged to for seven years and that she sent a shout-out to as Alaska governor earlier this year. ("Keep up the good work," Palin told AIP members. "And God bless you.")

McCain Camp cannot talk about the economy because their Economics is for the Rich, the well-off and the well connected!

I, also, agree with Mitch.

And, also, the point even of this is what, exactly?

Hey Turkana: looks like you may get that landslide that you were lamenting was a "lost dream" a month ago.

Honestly, the state poll numbers are moving so fast in Obama's direction that it is stunning. And the House and Senate poll numbers are moving in the same direction.

Dear Republicans,

33 years ago you made a deal with the devil. You'd been locked out of Congress for 43 years, with a very brief 2 year taste of the leadership in the 1950s which you screwed up so badly that Americans banished you for another 20+ years. You had two moderate presidents (Eisenhower, Ford) and one conservative one who had to resign in shame.

You were desperate to get back in power so you funded the far right Christian leaders like Falwell, who until then were content to be non-participants in the political process but the scent of GOP money converted them to Republicanism. Then you recruited all the segregationists into your party.

Initially it was easy -- you funded the Falwells, gave code signals to the racists like Reagan starting his campaign in Philadelphia, MS, and the votes poured in. You won 3 Presidential elections and even had the Senate for 6 years. But after you lost in 1992 you were locked out again, and addicted to power decided to go for the whole Congress.

But that required taking it even further. In order to fire up the base you had to start going after the lunatic fringe, and adopt the rhetoric of the John Birchers. You blanketed the radio waves with Birch-like commentary, some religous some not. You infected TV and newspapers too. You harrassed the Democratic president relentlessly, investigating every half-baked rumor and impeaching him when, after 6 years, you finally found a minor scandal, with no concern for the standard you were setting and how it would be applied. All the while building an angrier and angrier base of voters.

Then, 2000. You broke rules and laws to get power, then when in power did things that even Nixon wouldn't have dared. You became drunk on ideology and power, all the while fanning the flames of your base and imagined that the 50%+1 you were getting at the ballot box indicated tha the majority of Americans shared your base's anger. But in fact what you were doing was feeding and growing the monster you created -- the monster that you can now no longer control.

Here we are in 2008. In order to win this election you needed to, once again, tell the monster that is your base of racist, theocratic voters to go into the shadows and be quiet like they did in 1980 and 2000 so you can woo the swing voters. But the monster won't listen to you anymore. The monster won't mindlessly staff your election offices or vote for whomever they are told anymore. They demanded, and got, the worst ever VP nomination in history, one that guaranteed your election loss. And as the monster realizes that they are facing a landslide loss they are angry. Very angry. We're likely to see 1000 Timothy McVeighs in the coming months and years because of the angry base you created.

And so, justly, your deal with the devil ends in disaster. 2008 will be 1932 all over again for your party. The country will be suffering for these next few years due to the disaster you created. When you start rebuilding, don't deal with the devil again. Build your new party from the center, not the fringes.

Please allow me to illuminate for those a bit thicker between the ears than most, Turkana is respectfully stating that the McOld campaign is completely fucked....and Johnny boy can ride off into the Arizona sunset as a political loser who was fucked by George Bush and his decision to bring MooseMouth onto the ticket...that clear enough?? Ha ha ha ha!! LOSERS!!
