Comments: Friday Blogaround

The General Counsel of the Obama campaign is currently holding a media conference call to "Announce Major Action Taken Today To Address Illegal Conduct and Improprieties in the Sham "Anti-Fraud" Campaign Orchestrated By McCain-Palin and the RNC."

From TPM.

Hey, how is my face doing? Any drooping? Do I seem okay? Am I coherent?

I'm asking because I think I may have had a stroke. I was looking at Anonny's suggestion and I read a news piece that my brain interpreted as saying "U.S. Supreme Court sides with Dems in Ohio voter registration case."

Maybe it's a flashback? Damn you, Timothy Leary!

Levi Stubbs is dead. Man, what a voice!

Anonny, I was just reading that article. Great!

Man, the blogs are being fooked over by the ads today. Can't even bring up digby's place.

Thanks for the link Phid, got lost over there watching and had to play 'I'll be there...' a couple of times before I could move on. What is it with this society that it is so schitzoid that we have the depth of talent like Stubbs and the zero sum stupidity of Palin supporters side by side? Sad day.

McCain causing violence

Obama calling DOJ out on their BS

Iglesias calls it what it is

I wonder where Eriposte went? I guess all those obama predictions were wrong, eh?

Guys. Read Obama's letter to the DOJ. This is so awesome. He is doing exactly what we have been begging the Dems to do.

Obama is fighting for us!!!!!!

Anjha, thanks so much for posting that link to the Obama letter to DOJ and special prosecutor. He is tying the vile McCain and Palin to this scandal of false and hysterical cries of "vote fraud" and asserting that Rove's illegal tactics are being repeated by Team McCain and that the special prosecutor should add this politically motivated investigation and illegal "leaking" of it to her investigation.

Do we have an Attorney General or not? Is the special prosecutor idenpendent or not?

Obama is indeed fighting back. And on the day that the Supreme Court sided against the latest Repub vote supression tactics, perhaps other national institutions will perform properly as well.

OMG. And Chris Matthews just exposed Republican congresscritter from Minnesota Michelle Bachman.... as a McCarthyite. She said that the media should investigate the Congress for their "extreme liberal leftist views."

Chris called her out. It was awesome. An absolute must see.

Obama's team is worried about complacency. I don't know anyone who is slowing down their local campaigning now, but perhaps some of the youngsters might be, so good to remind them of what happened in 2000.

I *was* holding back on another donation ... tough times and all ... but I just kicked in again to keep the steamroller moving.

Republicans are about to undergo the rare historical event of getting the unholy shit beat out of them twice in a row.

In this case it's because they have been so pig-headed. Bush took a veto-everything posture and the Republicans filibustered like crazy in the first months after 2006. The right wing likes to call this the "do nothing" Congress, but even the low information voter knows which party stopped all progress. Congress has a pathetic approval rating, but because "congress" is such a broad term you don't know exactly who is getting the negative rating in the polls.

In fact, the negative Congress rating is based on 3 parts. First, wingnuts automatically rate anything associated with the Democrats negative. (No Democrat will ever get an approval rating of 90%, like Bush did after 9/11, because few Republicans put country ahead of party.) Second, partisan Democrats can't stand the wimpy way Pelosi and Reid have dealt with Bush. Third, swing voters are pissed that Congress isn't doing much, but they blame Republicans far more.

So, the Republicans could have given themselves a better shot at this election if they'd adopted a more bipartisan stance after the last election. But that's not something their party, as currently consitituted, is able to do.

Hell yes. Reading between the lines, Obama and Biden have already indicated they will investigate this administration. In my opinion, this will also test the ability of the executive to grant blanket pardons when no indictment has been forthcoming. So, Mukasey, do you really want to spend a little time in Super Max? Eh?

What is it with this society that it is so schitzoid that we have the depth of talent like Stubbs and the zero sum stupidity of Palin supporters side by side?

I'm out on a limb here, but they seem to like the "songs". We feel the soul. That's all I can come up with.

Who could they have run? jesus in a Klan outfit?

Remember, the Republicans always accuse us of the very thing they are doing. So, voter fraud (or election fraud) is exactly what they are doing. They always give away what they are up to.
