I hope you take this all in fun, but that's gotta be the gayest (not that there's anything wrong with gay) thing I've ever read. C'mon, "wondrous bike path" "seeing people happy, yapping and content" "dolphin riding the bow wave of a ship""piazzas?"

Dude, demand your money back from this creative writing class--it's all wrong.

I was out in SJ several days last week (dad was hospitalized at LG community) so I followed your route several times. the place sure has changed since I left 20 years ago. the saturday morning market in downtown Campbell is about as close to the street markets we loved in Provence

I spent the day in my garden, which is where I go to leave the political world behind. Time began in a garden, and it stops in a garden. I will miss it during our winter months here in St. Louis, but just maybe this Spring will be more hopeful than it has been for years.

Paradox, you inspired me to go out and take some photos on this beautiful day in central Portland, Oregon. I got lots of glorious orange and red trees, old houses, smiling neighbors, kids, Obama and Merkley signs, and I didn't realize until I started taking pics how many peace signs there are here besides my own - which felt wonderful. I told people I was documenting my corner of Real America. One person hanging out with neighbors said she was the odd one out, being a McCain supporter, to which we all said "You're part of America too" - right on cue.
