OT
The Skinhead Plot just confirms my fear for Obama. When someone is allowed to yell out "nigger" at a Palin rally, or "kill him" and is not hauled out by security and Palins doesn't immediately renounce the act, then Palin becomes a willing participant in encouraging violence against Obama.
I am very concerned for Obama's safety now and for the next four years. Wellstone, Brown, Carnahan, two Kennedy's, Jerry Litton, M. L. King, etc., all met untimely deaths due to hate and intolerance.

Anjha, I left you two sites under the last open thread about the vandalizing of Russ Carnahan's and McCaskill homes.
Posted by Judith at October 27, 2008 07:25 PMPuzzle me this: If the stink in farts controls blood pressure, why do republi-KKKons tend to have high blood pressure and so much heart disease if their heads are so far up each others asses? Hmmm?
, Carnahan,
Randy and Mel going in was a tragedy. Decent people. Russ was a really good kid when I knew him. And his brother was a great guy. Tough to believe he's been dead for 8 years this month.

Let's see Alex... "What is Joe Biden's prediction that Obama would be tested by an international crisis early in his presidency."
Damn, I hate it when Biden turns out to be right!
What's next before the election... an invasion of Iran?

or a domestic act of terrorism?
Phidipides, I worked for the Mel Carnahan campaign. He was the nicest guy, often stopping by the campaign headquarters to tell us how much he appreciated our efforts on his behalf. He was very humble. I was horrified when I got the news that he had been killed in a small plane. My immediate response was that they had killed another wonderful man.
Posted by Judith at October 27, 2008 10:27 PMFor Hagel, almost as disturbing as Palin’s lack of experience is her willingness—in disparaging remarks about Joe Biden’s long Senate career, for example—to belittle the notion that experience is important. “There’s no question, she knows her market,” Hagel said. “She knows her audience, and she’s going right after them. And I’ll tell you why that’s dangerous. It’s dangerous because you don’t want to define down the standards in any institution, ever, in life. You want to always strive to define standards up. If you start defining standards down, "Well, I don’t have a big education or I don’t have experience," yes, there’s a point to be made that not all the smartest people come out of Yale or Harvard. But to intentionally define down in some kind of wild populism, that those things don’t count in a complicated, dangerous world, that’s dangerous in itself.

Posted by Judith at October 27, 2008 11:00 PMJudith, that is so true. As a jazz fan, I am reminded of those who seemed to think that because some jazz musicians without formal training could become great by natural genius, therefore formal training itself was not only unecessary, but actually to be avoided. A celebrity cook on British TV admits that he has never read a book, and seems quite proud of it. At least he isn't standing for political office!
Posted by Colin at October 28, 2008 05:42 AMi have mailed hard copies of a letter to the chairman of the PA GOP and editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer and sent emails to the heads of the PA GOP field offices and close to a dozen PA newspapers with regard to the disgusting race-baiting, holocaust-fear-inducing email sent out by the PA GOP recently.
i also have a call in to the communications director of the PA GOP inquiring as to the employment status of the person who authorized this email (and according to Bryan Rudnick, the guy who pressed the "send" button, it was indeed authorized) and the public repudiation of the three signers, Mr. Coslov, Mr. Morgan and "The Honorable" Sandra Schultz Newman.
this has me very pissed off.
