Yes, very pretty map, but as with KJS, I won't relax until it's over. What's going on in PA? I keep hearing that the internal polls of the campaigns are showing significant tightening and Obama is spending more time there. Why did McCain decide to take on PA when it was showing Obama up by 10. What do they know that we don't know and why is Obama worried about it?

CG, I'm not so sure Obama is worried, I think he just doesn't want to let McOld come up for air...If McOld is in PA, then Obama is too. But its raining there today, so the old boy had to pack it in...not so for Obama, he stood out in the rain and made his speech.

If the latest Pew is any indicator, at 36% McCain is losing a huge chunk of the Republicans still out there. At 36% he is just a few points over purebred repuli-KKKons, which would be around 27%. This may also be an indicator that the "religious right" is fracturing around the issues in this election.

They waited a bit before finally moving New Hampshire from the "Lean" category.

Category shifts are done programmatically, so the delay isn't due to bias. From what I can tell the average lead has to pass a threshold and stay there for a length of time before the switch occurs.

For example, AZ is "lean Rep" at 8% lead for McCain, but VA is "strong Dem" at 8% for Obama. Why the difference? The trend lines both favor Obama.

Team McRage is still showing up in Iowa for god's sake, so who knows what their "internals" show them.

There were reports last week that McRage's final "strategy" was that he had to take PA in order to eke out a win in the electoral college. So perhaps he's just following through with that plan.

If there's any chance of PA going to McStooge and Lady MooseBreath at this point, or even being close, then I think you can forget about any "wave" election and any real change occurring.

McShit's campaign has been a gross insult to the country and the voters, a deeply unseriously hash of nonsense, with tax rate changes presented as "socialism", Dems as commies, 8 year old law prof discussions of supreme court history as "the Redistributor", lying robocalls running 24/7 for weeks, "Who is Barack the terrarist cipher"?, etc, etc., ad nauseum.

They are a national disgrace as a party and it's appalling and disgusting that McDoof's numbers are in the mid 40s and apparently rising (Pew doesn't seem to be echoed anywhere I've seen). So not many Repubs are deserting McTurd, and Obama is only slightly ahead with independents, as the nation faces one disaster after another.

It looks like too many people's brains are poisoned beyond recovery, can no longer think and can't tell the difference between a real campaign and a collection of assclowns screaming nonsense. That's a massive problem.

"assclowns screaming nonsense" ...oozo

...that reminds me, whatever happened to all those trolls that used to infest this site?

"assclowns screaming nonsense"

euzoius - McBullshit is flooding the underground with BS robo calls and BS flyers for that assclowns, or as we call them here "low info voters." Some of these individuals find it hard to distinguish between actual facts and the BULLSHIT from McBullshit.

Perhaps they've been reassigned to pollute the comment boards on the big political news sites.

Seriously, it seems like every political comment board is at least 1/3rd cut-and-paste Obama-is-the-anti-christ posts from wingnuts.

This will be a perfect test of the independents' endless cry that "they hate negative campaigning!"

McCain will have literally done nothing BUT negative campaigning until election day, and that at the most vile and stupid level possible: "socialist", "communist", "Barack the Mysterious Negro", "friend of terrorists". Now some crazed rightwing groups are distrubuting dvds in swing states solely about Wright and Ayers---those crucial "issues".

If the Repubs grind out a win with such a campaign, I think we can officially conclude that the claim that independents "hate" negative campaigning is false. Or that they are like dogs and cat litter boxes---they just can't help sniffing and eating the turds.

I knew McShit would finally get around to Wright...that son of a bitch! Hopefully people (Independents) won't fall for it like they have in the past. Carl's book has been opened fully and is being played standby folks!

Of course. And now they are throwing everything at Obama in every possible advertising forum in hopes something will stick.

It doesn't seem to be working, probably because most voters are immune to the bullshit attacks at this point. It's not like this is a House race for an open seat, in which case many voters still wouldn't know the candidates at this point in the election. This is probably the most talked about Presidential race in the TV era ... people aren't deciding on new info at this point, the undecided will be deciding on gut feelings.

And tomorrow night is the big Obama 1/2 hour prime time TV special, which as it turns out will be the last major event of the campaign. That will probably counter-act all the recent shit-slinging.

Posted by Anonny at October 28, 2008 08:12 PM

Mediacurves just released focus group assessments of the new McCain shit-slinging ads, including the 527 Wright ad which McCain isn't associated with (wink wink).

As expected, Republicans just eat the ads up, but Democrats and Independents are repulsed by them, and tend to favor Obama MORE after watching them.
