Congrats President-elect Obama on his great victory. How the world must be seeing America today, no excuses now. Obama has won an impressive victory, very impressive. Seems down right close to a mandate. Now he gets to work with Rangel and the expanded Democratic majorities. Will they yield or will he? It will be an interesting two to four years.
Congrats also to your magic spreadsheet. While the EV's were more right than wrong. The pop vote didn't change much from 2004. McCain lost about 6 million voters from Bush and Obama gained about 5 million voters from Kerry. The overall number of votes cast didn't change much.
So now, all the world can look at America as the land of opportunity. The son of a Kenyan immigrant has just won the presidency of the lone remaining superpower! And for the citizens of America, there are no excuses. No boundaries too high, you just have to reach for it and it can be yours.
Posted by peter at November 7, 2008 10:17 PMSo why the hell doesn't Obama trot down to Georgia and extend his coat-tails?
Posted by Gtash at November 8, 2008 05:10 AMObama's going to be too busy to visit Georgia just to try to add 'another' Democratic senator. It won't win him much good will.
Posted by peter at November 8, 2008 07:42 AMIf Obama goes to Georgia, it will be closer to the runoff election when it would do more good. It's interesting that Martin is tying himself to Obama in his ads. Even though Obama lost Georgia, it's good strategy since the runoff is all about turnout.

Posted by headxray at November 8, 2008 02:08 PMWow. McCaskill couldn't even bring Obama her own state.
Let's hope that eliminates her from his cabinet.
She' not the sharpest crayon in the box.
Posted by Mary at November 8, 2008 05:43 PMIn fairness to McCaskill, she barely got more votes than Obama in winning election. The southern part of Missouri is very tough for Obama - it's culturally more like Arkansas where he got clobbered.
