Not to mention that she didn't
Git 'er Done!
Posted by midwestdem at November 9, 2008 08:34 PMI love how she's in both the dustbin of history AND hot water. bwahahahahahahaha!
Posted by Sharkbabe at November 9, 2008 08:47 PMAdd this to the list:
Sarah Palin: More likely to wind up in the Big House than the White House and it all started so innocently. When Todd Palin was asked about the family's 4,000 square foot $500,000.00 house on the lake, he said: "Me and some of my contractor buddies built it!!"
Say what, contractor buddies?? In Alaska??
Seems as though the same contractors who wound up building the white elephant hockey rink in Wasilla (a $15,000,000.00 facility for a town of 7,000) were the ones that "helped their buddy Todd" by building him a house.
Any building permits? Nope.
Any receipts for payments by Todd & Sarah for materials and/or labor??
Nope.
Oh, and did I mention the contractors were some of the same ones who worked on Sen. Ted Stevens' house?? You know, the Ted Stevens who is currently awaiting the verdict on criminal charges he accepted gifts without reporting them???

Posted by Judith at November 9, 2008 09:17 PMUnfortunately she is not in the dustbin of history. On the contrary, she is more dangerous than ever. 64% of Republicans see her as their next Presidential candidate. She will be working toward that for the next four years, and chances are next time she will not make all the same mistakes she made this time.
Posted by Shirin at November 9, 2008 09:24 PMShe's a product of RoveWorld - in fact the perfect bookend to its biggest "success," GWB. That world is over.
Real is in. Fraudulent empty-headed puppets are out.
Sure the increasingly self-marginalizing MSM will keep promoting her, but they and she are both like farts in a hurricane. It's a different world now. Karl's reality creation machine lies in ruins along with all its frauds.
I think Sarah's finished except as a minor wingnut commentator or something.
(Agree we gotta be vigilant though .. the next Sarah Palin will be someone even worse.)
Posted by Sharkbabe at November 9, 2008 10:29 PMI don't agree with you at all that the MSM is promoting her or has ever promoted her. In fact, one of the things that pleased me the most was the fact that the MSM DIDN'T promote her - quite the opposite in fact, they seemed to dislike her almost instantly. And it is the MSM that is helping to expose her excesses during the campaign.
What worries me is not Karl Rove or the MSM. What worries me is the fact that, according to a recent poll, 64% of Republicans have picked her as their next Presidential candidate. That, combined with her grandiose ambitions, and her utter stupidity and incapacity to learn anything except how to promote herself more effectively (one of the hallmarks of a narcissist), is what makes her dangerous.
In the meantime, however, on her return to Alaska she was greeted at the airport by a pathetic "dozens" of supporters (there were six times as many at a "women against Palin" rally), her approval rating in Alaska has dropped 22 points in the two months since her candidacy was announced, and 35% of Alaskans say their opinion of her has changed for the worse. So, what makes Alaskans smarter than 64% of Republicans?
These are still scary times. If Obama blows it, Palin is likely what we will end up with next.
Posted by Shirin at November 9, 2008 11:14 PMSarah need to GO AWAY! Back to Moose Land.
B'bye Moose Hunting Lady.
Posted by angryman at November 10, 2008 05:38 AMExtremist parties pick extremist candidates. The rump Repubs are now almost exclusively a party of crazed extremists and are unlikely to be able to reform themselves. Hence their future candidates will be more Nazi-like, Christianist and lunatic.
But all that can be done is monitor and attempt to expose. And with a new admin of competent pragmatists coming in with enormous national approval, the Palin Clown and her Saks Brownskirt are pretty low on the list of things to be worrying about.
Posted by euzoius at November 10, 2008 05:41 AMDespite what we see - a Republican Pary imploding, there is a lot to be worried about in the remaking of it.
There are a couple of ways that they can go and we need to be paying attention and exposing the truth of what is really going on.
Theopalinism is already out and we need to pay attention to what the book says.
In addition, someone stopped by at L&L Pt2 and left this link which is an excellent article on the future of the Republican Party (not to mention a very cool website.)
If we just look at it all as the joke that we believe it to be, and not realize that there are millions of people who take it seriously, I believe that we do so at our own peril.
We need to pay attention. Regardless of how ridiculous that we think their BS is....there are people who are very serious about pursuing their ridiculousness.
Posted by Anjha at November 10, 2008 08:03 AMTo avoid any problems can't Sarah merely secede Alaska from the Union and declare herself Queen Moosefart? Todd probably still has the necessary paperwork.
I hope that little bundle of special needs has recovered from being dragged around the campaign trail like Paris Hilton's pooch.
My thoughts and, er, more thoughts go out to the little guy with the inconsiderate, selfish, and abusive parents.
And finally, I hope Joe the "plumber's" appearance on the Fox Huckleberry show encompassed his 15th minute.
He came off as extra ignorant even by his knuckle dragging standards, causing my innards to go into preliminary upchuck check off.
Shirin, I don't think it's as bad as you say. 64% of Republicans see her as their next Presidential candidate? 64% of what Repubs? Surely this means the PEOPLE, the PUBLIC. Since when did they have a final say in things? Anyone would think we were talking about democracy! Unless, at the end of Obama's first term, the polls show the Repubs can win the next election, the party will never pick the person who lost them this one.
