Comments: Auto Bailout Designed as Rebates for Buyers?

I like the idea on the surface, but I wonder if it would really help the car companies much. It seems like the greener cars are likely to be smaller and lower cost (other than the few hybrids out there), and the car companies make a lot less selling those than they do selling SUVs and pickups large or small.

Good plan, but if you aint got the money (or credit), you cant buy the car... green or otherwise.

California had great sucess getting clunkers off the road...should be part of the plan.
