Comments: You, too, can throw a shoe at Bush

It would be nice if you guys could do something along these lines, but it would be kind of sarcastic, wouldn't it, and therefore would (like the shoes) go right over the man's head. Actually, shoes wouldn't really work, because according to what I've read, heaving shoes at someone is a special sign of contempt in Iraq (or maybe all Muslim countries?). What you need is some equivalent American gesture, but don't be too subtle - he won't get it.

Colin, it does not matter if the chimperor in chief "does not get it" because he is so deft.

What matters is that we do it and do it quickly and garner media attention. It is the garnering of media attention that will mean something = plus it will be viral. Once the word gets out it will spread and more people will do it.

It will serve several purposes:

1. It will send the word to Bush how much that we cannot stand him and his policies.
2. The shoes will be put to good use:
a. By being forwarded to those in need
b. By being recycled
3. It will also help the US economy IF we use the USPS which will ship for a flat rate.
4. It will show some solidarity with the Iraqi people. It will help them to know that we stand with them and against our Administration.

Good purposes all the way round.

Who cares if it is "sarcastic."

W. might just understand that language.

It would be better if we ship with UPS, support for the Teamster Union. Another clear signal we disagree with their anti-Union policy.

I already sent him two shoes today - size 10s, ordered from http://www.shoebuy.com. Free shipping, too! Yeah, at $35 it cost a little more than my own used ones (which are size 12, anyway), but in this season of giving, it's worth it and a lot quicker than going to the post office. ;-p Point, click, contempt. :-)
