Comments: Nice Shoes

as hilarious as it was, the shoe throwing pointed out better than a million blog entrees how far the respect for the United States has fallen under George W. Bush. But what I took out of it, after chuckling for a while, was the reality of Bush's response. "What's his beef?" Bush asks of his assailant. Bush simply has no real idea of the death and destruction Iraq has suffered at his hand..well, maybe in a "we kicked their ass" sense, but not in the true way. Tens of thousands of innocent men, boys, women and children killed, maimed and tortured. A nation essentially bombed to destruction. All on a whim. No, George W. Bush doesn't understand the man's "beef". All he knows is that he wanted to bomb Iraq, and he did. Mission Accomplished. He got his way. It's his life story...get what he wants, screw everyone else. For probably one of the few times in his life, someone stood up to him and said "no, screw you Mr.Bush, eat this shoe".

I think even a Catholic Sunday school teacher like Stephen Colbert can compartmentalize a couple of low flying Florsheims from the sum total of all the death and destruction in Iraq, and would have no problem posting it on a Sunday.

Of course, that's easy for me to say because I am a non-godbot, and posted it on Sunday willy nilly without any fear of going to hell whatsoever.

The only sad part, as T2 said, is that Bush still doesn't get it.

I wonder how accurate my 14s would have been.

The idiot Bush knows in his heart that he is an asshole. His arrogance and total disrespect for basically the rest of the human race is why he surrounds himself with "Yes" men who are also assholes. Can anyone name anyone of his close associates who couldn't aptly be described as an asshole.

Chris: In answer to your question NO!

I guess this story does bring out my patriotic side. While this particular bastard would be an excellent target for any self respecting shoe thrower, I have deep respect for the office of the US Presidency. With that said, I don't want an asshole from friggin Iraq throwing shoes at him. (However, it was extremely funny LOL) Excellent job of ducking Bushie!

angryman, too bad George W. Bush doesn't have the level of respect for the presidency that you do. By the way, I'm sure a lot of Iraq "assholes" would like to throw a good bit more than a shoe at Bush. Bush got off lucky this time, he just as well could have been shot.
