Yes, Israel needs to stop killing terrorists. Otherwise, who will be left to vote Democrat?

Putz, I hear Ann Coulter calling you. Bye bye.
Posted by Judith at December 30, 2008 03:50 AMLike that's going to happen: "Israel has the right to defend itself."
Posted by Bill H at December 30, 2008 04:52 AMGotta hand it to the Israeli government and Hamas both - they know when to beat the crap out of one another when the Americans are distracted.
MSOC says it best:
Fuck this shit. Most of the people involved in this -- Israelis AND Palestinians, goddamnit -- are innocent goddamned civilians who just want to live their goddamned lives and are stuck in a fucking ceaseless cycle of ludicrous violence perpetrated by men -- yes, MEN, for the most part it's MEN, MEN, MEN and their fucking dick size, goddamnit, Golda Meir notwithstanding -- who don't give a SHIT about regular people and their regular problems.Posted by idiosynchronic at December 30, 2008 07:58 AM
Another MSOC:
The history of that region is just that -- HISTORY. And however unfair it may be, it is what it is. You can drag out, as your primary argument, the everloving unfairness of it all till kingdom come -- and I don't think anyone will ever print up any new deeds of ownership for the refugees. Your argument about the Jews asking for return of stolen property by the Nazis, by the way? I am not seeing Jews moving back into the palatial apartments whence they were evicted during WWII. Haven't seen it and do not think we will ever see it. Now will we be seeing any Native Americans handed back the Dakotas, much less Manhattan. Come to think of it, has France handed England back Calais yet?Posted by idiosynchronic at December 30, 2008 08:06 AM
I dont know who this msoc person is you are touting, but they seem to have grade 8 comprehension.
Fact is the civilians on both sides are quite intertwined in this mess and both are drvien by the desire for land - the Israelins to keep it and the refugees to get it back.
Who gives a crap if we sign a petition - the people over there need to sign one.
Posted by the young Judith (tyj) at December 30, 2008 08:22 AMYoung Judy - posting less would avoid revealing your own middle-school roots. But that tree was ripped out, disembowled, chopped, and kiln-dried months ago.
However, not knowing whom MSOC is not the mark of a fool, so here's a clue: Maryscott O'Connor, proprietor of http://www.myleftwing.com.
Posted by idiosynchronic at December 30, 2008 08:58 AMYou're right Id, the civilians do want peace. Slight problem, sounds like Israel has it's own PNAC members.
I guess Israel bombing the shit out of Hamas in Gaza is a substitute because cheney wasn't able to nuke Iran.
Israel's been chomping at the bit for some action during the bu$h years. What joy for them to finally run some military exercises!
sorry idio honey, I dont have to know the person to judge what you quoted - I judge based on content. But keep trying honey, pretty soon you'll quote someone worth reading. There are only , what? a million blogs? Lol.
Both peoples democratically elected their leadership and are intertwined with the decisions they make - just like we are. Deal baby.
Posted by the young Judith (tyj) at December 30, 2008 09:16 AMI think young Judy's just pissed off that she wasn't invited to play at L&LP2 and is hoping that showing off her After-School-Special chops will get her noticed.
Uh. She's prolly right, 'cept for the bitchiness. That's my beat, honey!
Oh, and I agree with MSOC; it's fookin' men, and their fookin' overcompensation issues. I say geld 'em all at birth, or round a few up for breeding, and leave the rest for food. Anyone want in with my new start up? It's called Soylent Burger Hut! Woohoo!
Posted by iamcoyote at December 30, 2008 09:17 AMiamcoyote - I have no idea what you mean? Are you suggesting i would want to follow the brats here who bitched and moaned about having to behave like adults? Uh, not fucking unlikley. Lol.
I just laugh when I read stupid shit quoted like it has some kind of meaning. The pretentiousness is a gas and i just cant help making my scorn known.
I am glad you all came crawling back here after your attempt to build tour own site failed (since nobdoy came I guess) but I came back to posting here after you were all gone, which in itself proves I dont find y'all interesting enough to leave eriposte or Paradox for.
Posted by the young Judith (tyj) at December 30, 2008 09:29 AMby the way, in case y'all missed it - the above was written in humor - I have no emotional connection here - nothing personal intended. The world is full of varying levels of intellect and understanding, yes?
Have a great holiday -
Bye!

Loved that sentence... and...

Dumb ass doesn't realize L&L has been around almost as long as TLC in one form or another.
...the above was written in humor - I have no emotional connection here...
That 2 months for the primary must have been a real burden... she's still never gotten over it!
Posted by Seven of Six at December 30, 2008 09:52 AMKinda hard to crawl back when no one ever left, but your protests to the contrary confirm that you're feeling left out. Poor dear! You're welcome at L&L anytime - we put up special troll bait posts for you and muck just to make you guys feel wanted. Come on by! Mucky needs someone to lie to.

Pardon me? PARDON ME?!! Beat the crap out of EACH OTHER?! You and the person you are quoting seem to think that this is a fight among equal parties with equal strength who are doing equal harm to each other.
Tell me that is not what you believe is going on, and if you don't, please stop giving the misimpression that it is.
We are talking about a powerful occupier and a refugee population who have been undergoing a brutal, oppressive, and wantonly cruel occupation. We are talking in Gaza about a population that is made up 80% of people who were ethnically cleansed and robbed of everything by the Zionists/Israelis, and the children and grandchildren of those who were ethnically cleansed. We are talking about a population that for two years has been under collective punishment for the crime of choosing the "wrong" leaders in a democratic election. They have been imprisoned in the Gaza strip, denied food, electricity, water (without electricity they cannot pump or purify water), medicine and medical supplies, fuel. Fishermen are not allowed to fish, and farmers are in danger of being shot at if they go into their fields to work. Exports of produce grown by the farmers are held at the border until they rot and are no longer saleable. The 1.5 million human beings in Gaza are regularly subjected to attacks, against which they dare not defend themselves.
In the meantime 99.9% of Israelis are unaffected by what is going on, and would not even be aware of it if they didn't watch TV or read the newspapers as they go about their lives going to work and school, coming home, sleeping through the night, sipping lattes at their favourite cafe, shopping at the mall, going clubbing on weekends.
In the six months of the ceasefire, the Israelis violated the ceasefire multiple times, killing tens of Palestinians, including children while precisely zero Israelis have been killed.
During the five days of Israel's latest paroxysm of violence they have killed hundreds of Palestinians, an estimated 10% of them children while the Palestinians have killed four Israelis.
Now, would you like to reconsider your statement that Israelis and Palestinians are beating the crap out of each other?
Posted by Shirin at January 1, 2009 04:26 PMPS I don't know who or what this MSOC is, but there is a lot of ignorance there if that person thinks the Palestinians are concerned about "dick size". What the Palestinians are fighting for is survival, not "dick size". It is also a big mistake to think that the history of this conflict is "just history". It is also the key to understanding the conflict, and the key to knowing how it can and cannot be resolved.
I strongly recommend that everyone who has any desire to understand the Palestinians' actions read and think deeply about this piece. I further recommend very strongly that you and the person you quoted try really, really hard to put yourselves in the Palestinians' situation and imagine what you would do.
And as you are doing all this, please consider this. The Palestinians mentality is, at its core, the mentality of human beings whose survival has been under serious and increasing threat for sixty years. And with that in mind think about what any human being does when his survival is under threat.
"Israel's been chomping at the bit for some action during the bu$h years. What joy for them to finally run some military exercises!"
Sounds like you think this is the first "military exercise" Israel has run since 2000. Not even close, I am afraid. Of course, this IS the biggest one since Hizbullah beat their asses in Lebanon (for the second time) in 2006, but they haven't exactly been quiet these last eight years.
