If there is consolation to be had, we now have blogs we will go to for information, insight, and occasional consolation. When Bush stole power, we had nowhere to look for any of these--certainly not to the "news" media. The silver lining of a black, ugly cloud is the voice (maybe in the wilderness) that we didn't have before.
Posted by candideinnc at January 16, 2009 06:25 PMI saw on the news that Bush was leaving the WH and boarding Marine One to go to Camp David. I was so hoping to see him fly over my house (as I so often do) and finally be gone, but I didn't see them.

Posted by Jim DeRosa at January 16, 2009 08:51 PMSo much for Geldorf and Bono, who seem to hold President Bush in rather high regard. To them he helped save more than 10 million African lives.
Now, it will be Obama's war on terror. It will be Obama's war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Gitmo will be Obama's too. Obama will command the newly commissioned CVN-77, the USS George Bush, the last of the Nimitz Class of carriers. The Bush joins the Reagan in active duty to our country. Everything will be Obama's soon enough.
Let's cut out this BS of yours here and wish PEOTUS, Barack Obama many successes in the coming years. Life is going to be tough enough without having your past baggage weighing him down. I know I will be watching next Tuesday. I will be "hoping" he can do the necessary to move this country forward.
Posted by peter at January 16, 2009 09:34 PMYeah, right Peter. We know how much your just hoping for Obama to be successful. About as much as your Republican friends in Congress.
Candideinnc is absolutely right. Paradox, you and others have created and handed the American people a great gift.
When the Supremes stole the election from us, we had no place to go to discuss politics with like minded people. The best thing that happened to me during these past dark years, was stumbling into TLC. Here I could put on my tinfoil hat, and no one looked at me like I was a paranoid crazy person. Imagine were we would be if the blogs had not taken up the cause of truth and enlightement, and had left it up to the lazy and lying MSM.
Many Americans got involved for the first time thanks to the liberal blogs and those who dedicated themselves to getting the truth out.
Posted by Judith at January 16, 2009 10:07 PMOh, and Peter, we are dropping the slogan "war on terror." It had as much meaning as "the war on drugs."
Posted by Judith at January 16, 2009 10:12 PMPants pissing pete never lets me down.A thoroughly deluded asswipe to the bitter(for him) end..PPP your best chance is a good old fashioned lobotomy..,
Posted by headxray at January 17, 2009 10:52 AM"the minute I heard Wolf Blitzer announce on CNN that the Supreme Court was stopping the election"
...You can actually listen to Wolf Blitzer??
Are you aware that the army uses his monotone voice on a loop to cause Al Caeda troops to go insane and crawl out of their caves with blood streaming from their ears?
Dear Paradox,
Thank you for all of your thoughtful posts all these years. You've helped to keep many people sane, including me, in a crazymaking era.
