Comments: No Pardon For Scooter

Rice should cut a deal to name names right now for full immunity and the NFL commisioner's job.

There's still 12 hours left, but, I'm not going to hold my breath. Enjoy your jail time Scooter.

The future AG Holder would do better to look forward than backward. Remember 'hope and change'? PEOTUS Obama surely doesn't want to get entangled in that stuff and neither should Holder. There are far more important stuff to do right now.

Obama's already showing some gray hair and he's just taking office. Join the club old man. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Should be a great event, a nice piece of history. I pray for a safe and secure event. That the many in attendance get what they went there for. Peace.

So now it comes out. Peter had something to do with the torture program and is afraid of a criminal investigation. I mean besides writing his poison posts.

The fact that there was no pardon for Scooter has more to do with the fact that scooter still has the 5th amendment right to silence. Once Scooter is pardoned, everyone from congress to new investigators will demand testimony, and when denied, will demand he be locked up for civil contempt.

Why everyone is so thrilled about Pat Fitzgerald eludes me. He slow walked the plame investigation through a second bush term, he allowed Rove to repeatedly lie under oath merely to give him plenty of time to clean up, he refused to disclose what we all know (the vice presidential office conducted a hatchet job on critics, and bushco fabricated war reasons), and did not act on any of these issues until after the election. Contrast that with his behaviour on Blagovich. He jumped in and announced the potential selling of a democrat's seat, and has yet to actually file charges in the case. FItz has made a very nice career out of pursuing the illinois democratic infrastructure, and successfully covered the republican's asses when they really needed it. What a load of crap.

Shorter petey: "That's a nice president you got there. It'd be a shame if something happened to him."

Another wingnut said the same thing to me yesterday. Makes you wonder what they know, doesn't it? Hey, petey, so what are they saying down at your local Klan chapter, eh? Why you so "worried?"
