Comments: The State of Pakistan

The Durand Line separates ethnic Pashtuns on the Afghan side from ethnic Pashtuns on the Pakistani side--that is, typical colonial border. And Pashtun society is organized on tribal lines and does not recognize outside authority. Not a good situation.

Joel,

That's right. Which is why simply sticking with the Durand Line as a political solution and hoping that problem gets solved is wishful thinking.
