So, Bubble Boy, aka, Frat Boy, aka, Wannabe Dictator, bucked The Evil One. Sounds like Bush Cheneyed Cheney on his way out the door.

Those %@*& bastards. How dare them ask that sweet Governor Palin such a question. Just who in the hell do they think they are talking to?

Shocking! Just damn shocking! How dare he say...during the entirety of his campaign...that Afghanistan was the problem and he would, as president, send more troops. That the troops go in AFTER his strategy is developed should not be considered.
Posted by phidipides at February 18, 2009 06:50 AMObama was interviewed on Canadian TV and was asked about the troop buildup in Afghanistan. He said that the situation over there has become worst and we need immediate help. He said Military is not the only solution. We need to increase economical assistant to that country and get their government stabilized. He also said that he is working on the strategy to get other countries involed in helping Afghanistan. However, currently the Taliban insurgency must be met with strong response or the country will fall apart. He also mentioned that last 7 years we took our eye off and put our resources in Iraq. That was the mistake and that is why Taliban was able to regroup.
Folks. The guy is office for a month. Give him some time to come up with a strategy on Afghanistan. Bush had 7 years and he did not have any.

I'm pretty shocked how closely tied our success in Afghanistan is to Pakistan. Check out his week's Global Pulse coverage of the Taliban incursions into Swat in Pakistan at www.globalpulsetv.org. Could this be Obama's Vietnam?

Spare me. This is some of the most rugged terrain on the face of the planet. And the Pashtuns on both sides of the border (a line sketched by a British colonial official in an office somewhere) are organized in a tribal fashion and recognize the writ of NO outside authority.
Posted by joel dan walls at February 18, 2009 09:22 AMJudith, I love that observation "he cheneyed cheney on his way out"
if dead eye dick is hurt and disappointed, I am deeply pleased.....
next stop...throw dead eye and frat boy together in the worst cage in GITMO, with former prisoners as their guards....
Agreed, Joel Dan, sealing a border like that is hardly a realistic project. And I don't like that word "walled". Too reminiscent of a certain place called Gaza. How about we mind our own business for a change and disengage (militarily)from that part of the world.
Recruiting of militant Muslims to fight the Satanic Russians when they were there, helped the Taleban on their merry way in the first place, and one of the chief achievements of "our" invasion has been a huge boost to the Afghan drug industry. Let's stop trying to mould the world.
Guys, Deacon isn't talking about sealing a border, but about partitioning the mountainous areas between the two countries off into its own area and sealing each country off from that area.
