I have no problem at all with eriposte's detailed discussion here. Secretary Clinton's comments were, unsurprisingly, very detailed and thoughtful. What I do have a problem with is the way that soundbite version of Hillary Clinton's previous statements about China was used as a campaign device to promote her as a candidate working especially hard for women's rights. That soundbite version was routinely deployed in juxtaposition to allegedly misogynist remarks by then-candidate Obama.

Much appreciated eriposte. It's hard to believe people think someone who has spent much of her life fighting for women and children around the world would suddenly leave that part of her life behind. But then, CDS is strong medicine.
