Comments: House Republicans Offer A Visionary Budget Plan!

its easy to criticize when you don't have shit to offer. go head, take up the challenge, create a budget. just include the wars you voted for, the bailouts your policies lead to. cuts for the middle class. health care, education, and green energy. please, tell us what is your plan? this legislatin thing is difficult when you have a president that calls you to put up or shut up...

i disagree with your assertion that the goopers don't have shit to offer- that's exactly what they have to offer...

I notice that some brainiac managed to come up with this by marrying the widely-circulated 10% number associated with the Flat Tax with the higher bracket decrease.

"Under the Republican plan, the top marginal tax rate would be slashed from 35 to 25 percent, facilitating a dramatic transfer of wealth up the economic scale. Anyone making more than a $100,000 would pay the top rate; those under would pay 10 percent." ..your link

This is a joke, right? They hogged in on Obama's town hall for this crap? And they wonder why we hate them.

Republicans: A Collection of Really Dumb People!

Of course the Republican plan is garbage!

Nothing is better than producing (almost) 10 trillion dollars in deficits over the next ten years.

Comrades! Forward into the future!

Sorry to go off topic, but I see Kagan, Senor, McCain et al have set up the sucessor to the Project for a New American Century. The new "thin tank" (no pun intended)will fly under the banner of "Foreign Policy Initiative" or FPI....kind of fits into the GOP slush as the platform will be based on "A Surge for Afghanistan"....problem is this is all done under the radar screen....if anyone sees articles, press releases or what not about these assclowns kindly post it here on TLC. Looks like a reunification of the same old losers waiting for their day in the White House.

I'd take a tax cut. Better than another trillion to bankers or $500k for every new job created or "saved"

Hell yes it's visionary! It even has it's own song (from Firesign Theater's Don't Crush that Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers Album):

Oh blinding light,

Oh light that blinds.

I cannot see,

Look out for me!

How do you like that cocksucker, AssCroft? Ain't he a special little torturer?

I will bet anyone here that the death threats to AIG are primarily coming from republi-KKKons

"More Science High School"? whaddya think Pdip?

Sure, I loved the lack of a plan; after exciting the MSM at MSNBC and getting them to leave the president to cover a bunch of speeches complaining about the president's plan. But then I loved "the lack of a plan" that Geithner's been playing all along too. Seems two can play that game. Yet Geithner's the more important voice right now and shouldn't be playing games.

petey, I read your post three times....WTF are you talking about?

phidipides: The Foreign Policy Initiative (FPI) is a newly formed, non-profit, non-partisan organization intending to qualify as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code .....right, non-partisan!!! Thanks for the link!....these clumps are advocating a surge in Afghanistan....that would be a meat grinder! Silly and dangerous...no doubt Dead Eye Dick will have a fang in this one!!

"More Science High School"? whaddya think Pdip?

I think they need a sermon from Pastor Rod Flash about the good things in life: Powerful gasoline and clean underwear!

try this one then Goyo.

They came to a presentation with no details just as SecTreas Geithner has done a few times. What a piece of bs from both of them. MSNBC broke into President Obama's townhall for the GOP'ers to present nothing but complaints about Obama's plan. They were pissed for interrupting the president's townhall, as well they should be.

I think it was a bonus that the news channels switched to Boehner's Boner. So many good things come out of it.

1. More people were witness to the GOP's humiliation. They are now a laughing-stock. Bummer that Daily Show is on vacation right now.

2. It pissed off the press who were forced to share in the humiliation because they, once more, fell for the old "pull attention away from Democrats doing something positive by announcing something, anything, no matter how idiotic" gag. I get the feeling some of them are getting mighty sick of that happening.

3. People were able to compare, side by side, the positive messages from the President and the response from the opposition, which consisted mostly of whinging and negative nellyism and unattractive crankiness. They looked ridiculous, making President Obama look even better by comparison.

4. With this bonehead move, the GOP surrendered the role of opposition, and will now be on the defensive.

5. There are Republicans already trying to separate themselves from the debacle saying "I tried to talk Boehner out of it!" What fun!

6. They fell for Obama's double dog dare and everyone knows it. More comedy.

I just saw Matt Cooper repeat the (obviously) new meme that "it's just like what Geitner did" on Olberman. Sorry, you don't get to rename Boehner's Boner, kids. Once the comedy shows get done with this total fail, people still won't know who Geitner is. Heh. I think it's funny that they announced that the details will arrive on April Fool's Day. Who wants to bet they don't present some numbers in a pretty binder next Wednesday and do it before or after?
