Comments: Too Much To Ask

THIS IS NOT CHANGE, THIS IS MORE OF THE SAME.

Wake up folks, admitting you have been had is hard on the ego, but not nearly so bad as mindlessly supporting somebody until it is too late. Obama wants to be popular, make it clear that only way he'll get that popularity is if pursues progressive policies, not endless war, or trickle down, or for profit insurance driven healthcare, or tax cuts. The Reagan, Milton Friedman, Jarvis, Greenspan policies of tax cut and subsidizing the wealthy don't work, they were tried before and led to depression and world war. Fair progressive taxes being used to improve the future of this country, have worked and will work again, the examples of what policies work can be found in Asia, Europe, Canada and South Africa.

You were warned about having Geithner on his economic team repeatedly in 2007-8 but still folks kept guzzling the Kool-Aid. STOP!

"Geithner’s financial qualifications are in many respects quite thin. He has never been a banker nor an academic economist. As liberal columnist Robert Kuttner noted recently in the American Prospect, Geither “has neither a doctorate in economics nor an M.B.A.”

Githner’s career rise has consisted largely of falling upwards after organizing bailouts, even if the bailouts fail or prove to be unnecessary. With a B.A. in government and Aisan studies from Dartmouth and an M.A. in International Economics and East Asian Studies from Johns Hopkins,

Geithner went to work at Kissinger Associates before coming to the Department of Treasury under the first George Bush in the late 1980s....In 1999, he was promoted to Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs under Clinton Secreataries Rober Rubin and Larry Summers."

Until Obama's Kool-Aid drinking supporters wake up, realize they have been had and START PUSHING for the tried and true FDR bank policies we are going to remain in decline as a nation. And because we are an empire, we will drag everybody down with us.

"Stop drinking the Kool-aid! Stop drinking the Kool-aid!"

Anyone else get the feeling that Brennan is in the marketing department at Coca-Cola? Or else he just hates sugar-filled fruity drinks...

the policies of obama-geithner and bush-paulson worked. The economy has turned around. Government stimulus works again. Thank you john maynard Keynes.

Now obama can focus on winning the war in Afghanistan.

First things first. If you are interested at all in single payer healthcare this is the time to make a ruckus.

Democrats seek compromise on health care plan. We need a G20 style demonstration on this issue.

S. Brenan:

Where were you when we were raped by Bush/Cheney for last 8 years? Give the guy some time to cleanup the mess. I am sure by next year we will see economy getting stronger and then you will be drinking kool aid we will open champaign bottles.

Geithner's credentials will never live up to the folks responsible for the meltdown but his surreal black-jack game with Wall St. - a game which rewards busted hands - seems to be working.

Oh, come on little guy!

Turn that frown upside down!

This is the age of Obama:

...the ruination of the US economy continues apace.

...POTUS bows to the King of Saudia Arabia.

...POTUS fires the CEO of Government Moters (but the head of the UAW remains).

...Barney Frank determines what pay scales should be in the private sector.

...DVDs for the UK leader (un-viewable in the UK).

...and IPOD for the Queen (complete the Obama's greatest hits).

...trillions in additional debt.

...a strongly-worded letter to the UN after North Korea fires an ICBM.

...a tax cheat running the IRS.

...unicorns and gum-drops and hopy-changiness.

Regards,

Bagley

Please, please let the GOP continue making the Bagleys of the world happy. Start with the corrupt Ted Stevens challenging the corrupt Palin for governor of AK. The hilarity would be breathtaking! And please, let that wimpering Boner keep attacking reporters. It will guarantee unfavorable stories into the next decade. It may be a Bush depression, complete with Bushvilles in every town, but dang, the complete unraveling of the Republicans is the most entertaining show on earth!

...the ruination of the US economy continues apace.

Set up perfectly by the bu$h/cheney administration.

...POTUS bows to the King of Saudia Arabia.

At least he isn't blowing Bandar bu$h.

...POTUS fires the CEO of Government Moters (but the head of the UAW remains).

At least the head of UAW does his job.

Hey bagshit, how was your trip to Binghamton, NY today?

"Please, please let the GOP continue making the Bagleys of the world happy."

Huh?

"Set up perfectly by the bu$h/cheney administration."

Yes, because the Bush administration determined to triple the national debt during an economic downturn....oh, wait...

"At least he isn't blowing Bandar bu$h."

As far as I am aware, there was no homosexual diplomacy during the Bush administration (exclusive of Barney Frank and his "girlfriend," Herb Moses, at Fannie May)....

"At least the head of UAW does his job."

And, exactly, what was the job of the head of the UAW? Perhaps it was to structure union agreements that were determined to drive the employer into bankruptcy and leave the UAW membership unemployed.....

Thoughts?

Yes, because the Bush administration determined to triple the national debt during an economic downturn....

As long as their friends had their contracts... it didn't mattter!

As far as I am aware, there was no homosexual diplomacy during the Bush administration...

Except Jeff Gannon, (male porn star and escort) getting security clearance to ask softball questions of bu$h. And there was that matter of not releasing the overnight White House guest list... ever.

And, exactly, what was the job of the head of the UAW?

To make concessions and restructure existing contracts so the white collar workers could do their job of making efficient vehicles to compete with the Japanese and European vehicles... oh, wait...

It is hard to understate the significance of the Federal Reserve's decision to purchase U.S. Treasuries and other government debt instruments directly.

How long will it be before all that money creation devalues the purchasing power of the dollar through rampid inflation? I look for a worldwide fiat currency collapse in the not too distant future.

The economy has turned around? Give me a break. There are several more trillions in distressed and securitized (derivatized) commercial loans in big trouble that have yet be admitted to publicly. You can bet the AIG is the holding the bag on much of that worthless paper as well.

Keynsean economics is not compatable with economic growth limitations imposed by net world energy depletion. A sustainable economic model is needed, but I'm afraid that it will only rise from the ashes of a completely discredited and hopelessly collapsed present system. It's only a matter of time.

This is the change the Obamabots promised? Yes we are the ones we've been waiting for. Hopey, Hopey, Hope. Obamabots wake up and get with the program. As long as you treat him like W was treated by the religious right you will get screwed like the religious right. Lip Service Anyone?
