Comments: A Right Wing Cop Killer

Quite reminiscent of Ted Kacznski, Harvard grad and former UC Berkeley Professor, a liberal nutcase without a doubt ...or how about Mr Billy Ayers.

Fortunately Mr Kaczinski is in prison where he belongs.

Mr Ayer's? He is involved in youth education in one form or another.

Scary huh?

redsneakers,

Bravo!

Scary huh?

Not as scary as the thought that you support a Cop Killer, and that you are willing to justify a neo-nazi republi-KKKon murdering Cops based solely on the wrong actions of others a decade or more ago.

Bravo!

Cheering for someone who supports a Cop Killer?

I really wondered how long it would be before I could say:

"republi-KKKons cheer on PA Cop Killer!".

Red Bags,

Mind tossing me a link to and left mainstream media that was espousing, supporting or otherwise promoting the basis for Kaczinski's psychosis?

On the other hand, I can show you multiple links each day from the right media and elected leaders subtly or actively pushing meme's that were driving Poplawski's thoughts and actions.

Should dangerous, demonstrative, out-and-out lies be protected under free speech? Check out Sadly, No! for a perfect example today. Guess I missed the part in the Bill of Rights protecting the Right to be a complete Tool.

The far-right is using standard fear tactics as it is all you guys have. Its pure idealism. You are out of power. You have no leader. You have no ideas. You don't know how to actually govern. You. Fucked. Up.

Trying putting some grown-ups out front that at least *sound* sane and I'm sure you'll get some more attention.

As much as I'd like to say "Back of the bus, sit down and STFU." I won't. I'm just waiting for some sense of sanity to prevail to engage in some actual reasonable policy debates. Until then you guys are simply more foolish (and flat out disgusting) with each new day.

phidpides,

I have long understood that your are reading challenged, but I was not quite sure if you were contextually challneged, as well. I suppose that I now understand that you are.

My "bravo" was in response to redsneakers pointing out the stupidity inherent in the original article.

Regards,

Bagley

P.S. Oh, I am sorry. I did not allow you enough time to reposd to your own post. My bad.

RS: I'll see you one Ted Kaczynski and raise you by one Tim McVeigh. Who ended up being a better American terrorist? American terrorists on the right seem to be ready to store massive quantities of munitions and readying for the great race war.

Shorter: Bagley hearts Cop Killers!

When the mind numbed robots start spouting this we can trace it right back to the source....Kos daily talking points. Ironic how liberals always project their own darkest desires onto conservatives. Yep this Poplawski guy is a regular Mumia abu Jamal. Sara Jane Olson is a cop killer wannabe..
she and her friends, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn are DEMOCRATS.. Who coined the phrase, "Pigs" for cops? Who threw a rally for the cop-killer in Oakland last week? Who attacked police at the Democratic Convention in the 60's in Chicago? Who was behind the murder of 2 police officers who also bombed the Pentagon and said he wished he had done more? Who has a long and bloody record of killing police officers? I'll give you a hint. It's not Republicans. One nutjob does not erase the entire recorded history of radical liberals.

Posted by onar at April 5, 2009 05:44 PM

violence is all the right wing has left..with it comes their true nature..fascism...the modern, right wing, criminal party..nazi to the core..

With extreme prejudice.

EXTREME prejudice.

So all of this is projection?

One nutjob does not erase the entire recorded history of radical liberals.

Riggghhhttttt!

Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) said this weekend that she wants residents of her state "armed and dangerous" over President Barack Obama's plan to reduce global warming "because we need to fight back."

Onar can write more than one sentence... who knew?

Posted by Seven of Six at April 5, 2009 10:53 PM

There were 3 mass killings over the weekend. A dozen or so this month, from all shades and types. The economy is the common thread, not right-wing propaganda.

For some time now I have been compiling a file of news reports of gun incidents in the USA, under the heading "Gun Culture", They range from the dreadful right down to the ludicrous and even hilarious, like the guy who scratched his back with a loaded gun. Clearly it is far too late for guns to be taken away from the American population, but the infatuation with firearms continues to project an image of a society which is pretty well deranged.
We are told the guy's mother described how he'd been stockpiling guns. Why didn't she report this? Because she too was infected by the prevailing gun culture.

Posted by Colin at April 6, 2009 03:29 AM

Guns don't kill people.

Bullets fired from guns do.

...or something like that.

An upstanding citizen armed with a gun is a fine thing...

...until that upstanding citizen armed with a gun becomes a deranged lunatic armed with a gun.

Posted by snark at April 6, 2009 07:26 AM

Purple has it right.

The big driver in this, IMO is the economy. A depressed economy stresses many out, esp in the lower classes.

My previous post was on the border of blaming extreme right-wing talk. I don't believe that that talk was the cause of his actions. The cops came to yank him out of the house and the paranoid asshole opened fire.

My point is that this bullshit being spouted from the far-right is creating a general mindset. They are trying to make people fearful. Fear motivates (albeit nearly impossible to control). The right has nothing, NOTHING left but fear.

No policies, no real sense of community (outside their absurd little nationalistic circle-jerks), no vision, no sense of financial obligation to support our democracy and no understanding of indirect causal elements in society (everything has to be boiled down into binaries for them to pull people along "up or down vote!" "with us or against us!").

Posted by simp at April 6, 2009 08:54 AM

Simp, what you say is true, but my point is, all the terrible shootings couldn't happen if the people in question DIDN'T HAVE GUNS!
As I said, it's far too late in history to turn that round. There probably is no solution, but it should all be a warning to other countries.

It's true that if nobody had guns there would be no shootings, but does anyone really believe that if nobody had guns there would have been no killings? Please. If somebody makes up their mind to kill another, gun or no gun, they will kill them.

Posted by curious at April 6, 2009 12:42 PM

...but does anyone really believe that if nobody had guns there would have been no killings?

Guns were invented because having a gun made it easier to kill things more quickly and from safer distances. If the guy walked into the building in Binghamton with a knife I'm pretty certain he wouldn't have killed 13 people. And if the skinhead in PA attacked the cops with a hunting knife I'm pretty sure at least two of the cops would still be alive today. But hey, I guess if you can murder one person you might as well be able to murder 3 or 13 or 20 or 50, eh?

Posted by snark at April 6, 2009 01:29 PM

The right to bear arms, constitutionally, was included in an age where everyone carried guns and there was real danger. Its not that way anymore. No matter, guns won't be outlawed. BUT, there could be very stringent regulations on purchasing ammo for the guns. That is where the control can be done. Keep your guns, but only get ammo by regulated permit.

Posted by T2 at April 6, 2009 01:54 PM

The right to bear arms, constitutionally, was included in an age where everyone carried guns...

There's actually a fairly vigorous debate about exactly how prevelant gun ownership was in the colonial period.

Posted by snark at April 6, 2009 02:03 PM

the right IS completely immersed and about fear...dead eye dick and his pet chimp were about fear and essentially nothing else: before them was ronnie ray-gun and his fear of the commies and his rascism....having said that who but fascists are best at pushing the fear message? and the other main method of repuke fascists? out and out criminality: the complete looting of the treasury, the manipulation and con job leading to the war and that ensuing swindle...the total disregard of any viewpoint but their own..the modern fascist right: swindlers and fear mongering, it's all they got...

Of course and I'm absolutely with you. However, my idealism is restrained by all-too-aware pragmatic side.

Slash and burn on guns will not and cannot work. The consequences are immense and insurmountable.

In order to have a progressive society you need to be addressing people who are politically aware and reasonable.

Bags, red, et. al. are completely driven by ideology and no factual body of evidence will divert them from their ideological path. And they are here trying to push their ideas no matter how absurd. You can't reason with them. As much as most disagree, it is still an outlet for me to engage them, knowing full well that it's a fool's folly.

apologies for the rest for giving them any attention.

Wow. Quite a bit of traffic in this thread.

All the Lefties blaming the right for the death of these police officers. Tragic.

But, hey, here is one for you Lefties: Andrew Mickel.

You may read about it here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Mickel

He was one of yours.

He planned the murder.

Posted by Once Again at April 6, 2009 04:22 PM

But, hey, here is one for you Lefties: Andrew Mickel.

Sorry, douche-nozzle, Mickel is an unfortunate schizophrenic. In your jargon, he is nuts.

Here are some excerpts from a little 20 page story he wrote while in jail under these charges:

"The Just Barely Short of Holy Bible (The Story of Uz) by Andy Mickel." The text is a jumble. Biblical. Hectoring. Violent.

Over the 20 pages, the "Author" puts the "Character" through anguish and torment -- attacked by monster birds "with their giant razor beaks," the protagonist covered in boils and blood, "castrated and paraded before lovely women."

At one point, the Character says, "I have been sent by ANDREW, Author of the Story. Thus saith He -- Let My People Go!"

Then the Author Andrew becomes God.

Later, the text breaks into large print, capital letters: "JEHOVAH!!! YOU IDIOTIC WHORE!!! YOU MAGGOT!!! YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND THIS, DOWN HERE!!! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, YOU TYRANT!!! YOU DON'T LOVE ME!!! YOU DON'T LOVE ME!!!!! BUT I DON'T CARE, BECAUSE I HATE YOU!!!!!"

Toward the end, the Character is hanged on his "new age" crucifix. "That's how the story ends -- Character went to Hell," Mickel wrote.

But there is a coda, where the Character enters a kind of Heaven "without boredom, without depression." On the last page of his story, Mickel scrawled a crude, sad-eyed cartoon face with a screaming, open mouth, and in the back of the figure's throat, Mickel inked, "I'm finished with exams."

So, you see, douche-nozzle, Mickel is quite ill. Your guy, probably much like you, is a republi-KKKon fuckwad conservative who would kill cops for no real reason. There is a huge difference.

Posted by phidipides at April 6, 2009 07:02 PM

All the Lefties blaming the right for the death of these police officers. Tragic.

Case in point. They cannot or will not engage in a reasonable or truthful debate. It doesn't matter what has been said.

Posted by Simp at April 6, 2009 07:11 PM

Bags, red, et. al. are completely driven by ideology and no factual body of evidence will divert them from their ideological path.

The shame is that they are driven by much more than that. The right attracts less educated violent people who can be led by authoritarians who then use their (the same trolls yapping on here) general paranoia, greed and inherent selfishness to an end. They aren't mentally ill, but they are really really fucked-up.

It is a shame this fascist, extreme left wing liberal loon became so disenchanted with Obama, the man he voted for in hopes of change. Once he saw Obama was nothing more than an average, lying, corrupt, stinking, weasel, Liberal politician, he went loony lefty nuts and started killing innocents, much the same way liberals kill the working spirit of Americans and kneel to stealing from successful people to give freebies to parasites and leaches.
