Comments: Obama Defends Bush's Domestic Surveillance

Don't know about anyone else, but it's not going lightly with me.

So now the culture of corruption Republicans in Congress (with the help of some like-minded conservative Democrats) are resorting to EXTORTION to keep the crimes of the previous Republican administration under wraps, blocking Obama's nominations to critical government posts in exchange, reportedly, for President Obama stopping any digging by his administration, and Justice Department, into anything done by BushCo over the past eight years.

This goes beyond usual Washington horsetrading, since we are talking about obstruction of justice and certain individuals actively trying to cover-up crimes that have been committed.

These aiders and abettors of conservative crimes don't want any U.S. courts to hear any of these cases, nor any jury of peers impaneled to judge the evidence and render a verdict, nor any subpoenas issued and obeyed, nor any investigations started, nor any grand juries called, nor any special prosecutors assigned...indicating, to me at least, the attempt to cover-up some of the most heinous and loathsome of crimes committed in our nation's name over the past eight years by a bunch of rogue Republicans in the White House and throughout our federal government.

Full investigations (and prosecutions) are required to rid our nation of this Republican stench, otherwise this toxic smell will poison our nation's atmosphere for years to come.

Wrong again oracle, AG Holder was already making claims of state secrets before any coercive attempts were made. This is as I've held before, he likes what W was able to craft in the Executive Branch. He's not about to let any of it go. It was legitimate with W and now is legitimate with Obama. No reaches, just the law.

I could quote JT Kirk's response to Kahn, but I won't...

What a nice reception at the opener of the Texas Rangers today. Standing O for 43, and a very nice pitch too.

Why complain. You've aided and abetted, and slathered enough spit on the knob of Buschco to make a camel proud. It seems you would like this rather than impugn others for it. Wonders never cease.

Just like the torture issue, Obama can get hung via the Constitution for all I care. There is right and there is wrong...and I generally know what is "wrong" because people like you support the wrong thing.

And while I'm double posting the hell out of things...I get reminded of the magnificent things Obama is doing. It's damn tough. On one hand there is the Mad King, Idiot son of George the Lame and Bar the Lush, who literally screwed the pooch on everything he touched, and Obama...who, like a spend thrift lover, can piss me off so bad and then make it all OK with just a few words.

It would be much easier to be a repub-lick-on and just nod in stupid agreement like some bobble head doll and march in lockstep with moronic rhetoric. Oh well.

Yeah Phid, I've noticed we do have to take the good with the bad from Obama.

I'm not happy with fraudulent white collar workers not being in jail, the bu$h/cheney crowd walking free for their crimes, the troop build up in Afghanistan, the Fairness Doctrine not being reinstated or Obama actively pushing the Employee Free Choice Act.

In defense, bu$h had 8 years to continually screw the pooch... the progress already is mind blowing and he doesn't even have most of his treasury and justice dept's appointed. Obama is working handicapped right now. Repukes can only obstruct, they have no new ideas.

Let's see what America looks like in 2 years. Especially after another crushing election in the Senate for republi-cons. A 60 vote majority will really do wonders for America.

Awww, come on little fellow.

Turn that frown upside down!

It is the age of Obama:

...the Obama has created a new language, Austrian

...the War On Terror is over...we now have only Overseas Contingency Operations

...there is no terrorism...what we have are Man Caused Disasters

...no more Illegal Combatants...now we have...well, I am not sure...the Obama has not come up with a new hope'n'changiness name (I suggest "the Obama's BFFs")

...the Obama is returning from his overseas "blame the US first tour"

...and, also, the ruination of the US economy continues apace

...trillions and trillions and trillions of debt

...hyper inflation is not here yet, but it is on the radar

Bagley

Come on over to the deep end fuck-bag, I'll put you out of your misery!

...or Obama actively pushing the Employee Free Choice Act.

That should have read Obama not actively pushing the Employee Free Choice Act.

"I'll put you out of your misery!"

How does this translate into Austrian?

Bagley

P.S. Why do all you Leftists respond to your own posts?

Why do right wing nut jobs have to use a post script?

I find it entertaining that just one hundred days into Obama's Presidency we are all willing to commit to what he intends to do, what he will get done, and what will not get done. We are ready to call him a failure on issues he has had virtually no time to address!

It is still a little unclear in my own mind which of the felonies of the Bush administration were acts of commission on Bush's part and which were acts of omission on his part. Nor do I believe it is reasonable to imagine Obama knows precisely what it will be doing three years hence.

I would like to think that Obama really does want the courts to order him to release the information. I imagine, too, that Obama feels some sense of obligation not to weaken the office of the Presidency too early in his office; after all it's one of his Constitutional obligations to defend its turf.

I would not be very surprised if one of the conditions of Obama taking the position was an agreement to let certain aspects of the criminal procedings of the previous executive and legislature slide. I think that such a move will weaken democracy measurably; but I am not sure that any person could take the position without genuflecting in the same general direction. The cartel is capable of destroying who holds the position. And has been for some time.

My own hope is that the IRS records delivered from UBS will reveal a complete list of the people laundering drug money and smuggling arms and diamonds. And that the information will be complete enough to really nail most of the central figures. When the full story of all of this is revealed, then it might be possible to begin talking about this other stuff.

I think we will discover that this is the motivation behind much of what we see happening. Al Quaida was whacked as much for its effectiveness in diamond smuggling as for anything else it supposedly did. And the reason it was denied due process was because of what we would find out about how the cartel works.

The Taliban was whacked as much for turning off the flow of opiates from Afghanistan as it was for sheltering al Qaida. And the "war on x" is just a diversion to keep us from noticing the war on the middle class in America.

Obama cannot fight on all fronts. He can only fight where he can win.
