Comments: Keep To The Timeline

The general also stated that in at least two cities, we might miss the timeline set for June.

As far as your middle paragraph, what nonsense. These people act on their own. They take encouragement from those anti-war types, but this president hasn't shown any of those tendencies since being sworn in. Much the opposite, he's already stated we won and our military has accomplished their goals. That our military will come home bearing the honor of their accomplishments, heads held high. Bravo Mr. President!!!

My question right now is what becomes of Karsai? The new laws or rules for women in Afghanistan that he supports. How will that play out with the Obama admin.? Laura Bush championed women's causes there. This 'new' approach raises many questions. We're send many more troops there to support this reining in of women's rights? I'm not so sure.

DB,

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There will be a "major" uptick in violence in Iraq as we prepare to pull-out because the Iraqi government hasn't taken over the U.S. "peace payments" to the Sunni minority.

The downturn in violence during the so-called SURGE was nothing more than the U.S. admitted results of paying-off the Sunni "deadenders" who have no viable economic future without a war or an equitable distribution of the oil profits between the 3 major religious groups that comprise the population of Iraq.

IT'S ABOUT THE MONEY, STUPID...!!!

Consider the above to be the answer to what happened to the billions in U.S. "cash" that arrived on pallets and "mysteriously" vanished into thin air.

The lack of any other viable option for economic survival will drive the Sunni population of Iraq to even more sensational and desperate attacks as the deadline approaches for the US pull-out.

This, is the truth of the matter and the Obama Administration, if they are smart and transparent, should get out ahead of the "teabagging" right-wing MSM with "this" story before we get trapped into staying in Iraq for another 20+ years.

BTW, what ever happend to the Iraqi oil profits paying back the U.S. and deferring OUR expenditures on THEIR behalf?
