interesting isn't it. For years we've chided Cuba for holding, what, 200 "political" prisoners...yet we hold how many in Gitmo?
I'm really happy Obama has opened the door to Change in Cuba. The whole "they are commies" bull grew stale as a cheap non-Cuban cigar years ago. We can vacation in Russia or China.. but not the horrible commie Cuba. What a joke. Today's Cubans realize that they'll return to the top of Vacation lists and rake in fortunes once the US partners up with them. Of course, there's the added bonus of watching Rush going berserk at the idea of dealing with terrorists/commies and probably another GOP Cigar Party to protest it.

It is wonderful to see US foreign policy is now based on mature and intelligent approach rather than cowboy ideology. This is the begining to re-establish US credibility around the world.

Posted by suresh at April 17, 2009 03:04 PM

Actually, what is really happening is that this group now "in charge" is being played like a fiddle by adversaries world-wide.

The results will be more than likely catastrophic.

Unfortunately, there will be another "connect the dots" hearing, although it will be much easier to assign blame.

With elections come responsibility of leadership.

With elections come responsibility of leadership.

The Mad King, idiot son of George the Lame and Bar the Lush, proved leadership and responsibility aren't synonymous. The results WERE catastrophic.

With elections come responsibility of leadership.

Then you'll agree that it's a good thing we have someone "in charge" who's competent, eh? Glad you finally understand. Now, go change your pants. You've piddled on yourself again.

Posted by Twinky P* at April 17, 2009 03:45 PM

I allege that our new pinhead wingnut "redsneakers" is the old idiot troll jj (remember him? With all his comic "McTurd will surely win"---"my cookie granny hates Obama"---"archive this!" lunacy)

That meaningless "elections=responsibility" slogan was one of jj's as well. Nor could jj make any actual arguments, it was all "adversaries-catastrophe" slogans and nonsense.

What "catastrophe" will result from ending the absurd Cuba bans, "redsneak"?

Posted by euzoius at April 17, 2009 06:17 PM

god. jj. why did you have to bring him/it up? Unfortunately, many foul trolls infect this site, and use many fake names. It could just as well be Tobytroll, or the horridly discredited MuckTroll. The funny part is, it could also be Texas Gov. Rick Perry or the criminal Tom DeLay. All with 13 year old mentality.

Posted by T2 at April 17, 2009 06:30 PM

Did anyone else notice that onar comes off like benditto?

What a bunch of dispirited trolls...

The tea parties did make history, in one sense. They represent the first time a television network has actually moved from covering events to creating events. - Bill Press

Apparently jj was well known in the "community" that we work in. I never got to know him although he "worked" in this complex from time to time. He worked without pay. Didn't need it Iguess.

Died shortly after he returned from back to back hunting and fishing trips at 77 years old. You guys must be really sharp, with good memories I might add.

I don't know why he wanted this job working the blogs...most were quite below him, including this one from what I understand.

Can you share a couple of stories that I might pass on?

Well, Cheerio Boys

Posted by redsneakers at April 17, 2009 07:40 PM

The Cuba story is great news. I need some parts for my '59 Caddy convertible.

You mean these good times aren't gonna last forever?

Unfortunately, there will be another "connect the dots" hearing, although it will be much easier to assign blame.

Yeah, Bushco won't get off very easily. Monumental fuck-ups that they proved to be.

With elections come responsibility of leadership.

Responsibility of leadership does not good leadership ensure. George Bush and Dick Chaney demonstrated that. Twice.

Posted by snark at April 17, 2009 08:02 PM

Gotta admit, redsneakers' response was funny.

TIKI, does this mean Cuban cigars are no longer a status symbol? The horror~!

An elderly man suffered a massive heart attack. The family drove
wildly to get him to the emergency room.
After what seemed like a very long wait, the ER Doctor appeared,
wearing his scrubs and a long face.

Sadly, he said, "I'm afraid he is brain-dead, but his
heart is still beating."

"Oh, Dear God," cried his wife, her hands clasped
against her cheeks with shock! "We've never had a Liberal Democrat in the
family before!"

"Oh, Dear God," cried his wife, her hands clasped
against her cheeks with shock! "Will he still be able to post a really stupid "joke" on TLC?"

Dr: "No problemo."

And to the wife's horror... the Doctor was a Mexican!

Posted by Twombly at April 17, 2009 09:19 PM

Suresh,

You do know that India was the most pro-Bush country in the whole world, where Bush had a higher approval rating than in the US, don't you?

Posted by Twombly at April 17, 2009 09:21 PM

Actually, Bush's numbers pale in comparison to Piyush Jindal's in India.

Can we send them both there?

Posted by TIKI AL at April 17, 2009 09:40 PM

"Can we send them both there?"

Send Pelosi, Reid, and Borat Hussein Osama to Cuba. It is closer.

Posted by Tomalak at April 17, 2009 09:45 PM

I agree, Cuba will make a great 51st state, and we will need intelligent peeps to govern it.

I am starting thinks Conservatives were right about dissent against a Presidential administration being a bad thing. For the last 8 years, I thought dissent against the Presidential administration was a very patriotic thing, but now I realize it is a disgraceful, anti American, unpatriotic thing to do. I now believe that if you dissent against the President and his administration, you are a traitor and an idiot and should be mocked by citizens and NBC and CNN. Dissent should not be allowed against President Obama. If you don't like to pay higher taxes, and if you don’t like President Obama taking your hard earned money and giving it to parasites and leaches, then you are a whining, weasel and an unpatriotic traitor. There is absolutely no reason for some people to have to work as long as other people are still stupid enough to get a job and allow the administration to take their money, pocket much of it and give what little is left to bums.

Posted by changed my view at April 17, 2009 10:03 PM

OMG... we lost an election! Could it be real? No... no, it can't be... maybe, it's all a bad dream... after all we are white, Christian males... we are better than everyone else... what would make a once great Nation vote for a black Democrat?

8 years of total incompetence, thievery and running the country into the ground.

Keep groveling fucks... you still have the bible belt, the great plain states, and don't forget, you'll always be welcome in Appalachia. But watch out, AZ may be next to go down!

Seven of Six says:
8 years of total incompetence, thievery and running the country into the ground.

Seven of Six's better says:

Don't kid yourself Seven of Six, Obama will not get two terms. You can correct your statement to,

4 years of total incompetence, thievery and running the country into the ground will be Obama's legacy.

Posted by Seven of Six's better at April 18, 2009 12:19 AM

Leftism is nothing but projection. Moonbats are driven nuts by the fact that the right is not reciprocating the hate that the left spewed forth for 8 years.

Republicans have jobs, families, and friends. Leftists have none of these things. That is why leftists have turned their politics into a religion (and a faggotty religion it is).

Posted by GH at April 18, 2009 12:41 AM

So why do left-wing racists hate Clarence Thomas, Condi Rice, and Michael Steele so much?

Posted by Tomalak at April 18, 2009 12:45 AM

Just a wild guess: because they are opportunistic props for the right who could care less about average black and brown peeps?

Relax you poor scared and bewildered trolls, the stimulas is coming to your area soon and you will be able to replenish your Mountain Dew and OxyContin.

Posted by TIKI AL at April 18, 2009 09:18 AM

After Obama's progressive immigration plan passes... that's another 12 million votes.

That'll shock em'!

Hey repukes, you do realize independents think you are all nuts and are siding with moderate Democrats. Yes, we will win the next election big... then the next... then the next. The damage bu$h did to this Nation will take 20 fucking years to get over.

Posted by Seven of Six at April 18, 2009 10:19 AM

What's with all the trolls lately? Are they handing out TLC flyers at the klan gatherings again?

Posted by TIKI AL at April 18, 2009 10:42 AM

"Just a wild guess: because they are opportunistic props for the right who could care less about average black and brown peeps?"

What proof do you have of that, faggot? Perhaps they saw how racist the Democratic Party has been for 150 years.

It is the left that is far more racist. Historical events show it. YOU are a RACIST, and you know it.

Posted by Tom at April 18, 2009 01:38 PM

Yeah, and when Hispanics start voting against Gay marriage, what will you faggots do?

Your anti-Hispanic racism will change from covert (today) to overt (tomorrow).

Posted by Tom at April 18, 2009 01:39 PM

What proof do you have that I am a faggot?

Posted by TIKI AL at April 18, 2009 06:30 PM

Your anti-Hispanic racism will change from covert (today) to overt (tomorrow).

My family will be extremely disappointed.

Posted by Seven of Six at April 18, 2009 09:55 PM

I think I'll post more or less the same comment on every thread here until I get barred.
STOP IT YOU FOOLS!!
Do you not realise ALL of you, how pathetic it looks to the rest of the world when the most powerful nation on earth is a bunch of kids in the schoolyard swapping insults.
If you can't as a nation do better than this, maybe you should tear up your precious sacred constitution and start over again, because the present political system is simply a formula for polarising and mutual loathing. If you can't talk responsibly among yourselves, why should the rest of the world take you seriously?

Posted by Colin at April 18, 2009 11:16 PM

Just 'cause you spell "realize", "realise", doesn't make you better than us.

Some trolls only understand childish insults.

You heard your trolls your way, and we will heard our trolls our way.

PS: Say hi to my ex in Northampton.

Posted by Twombly at April 17, 2009 09:21 PM

Putsch had a rating in the thirties somewhere in the world? Do tell! And it means what, exactly, in relation to his being a murdering torturer who should be tried in international court for his war crimes?

==============

Leftism is nothing but projection. Moonbats are driven nuts by the fact that the right is not reciprocating the hate that the left spewed forth for 8 years.

Well - expect for those right wing nuts who have been shooting things up since the scary black muslimoid commie pinko fag junkie got elected. By the biggest mandate in the last forty plus years.

Oh - and Glenn Beck and Oh!Really? and PigBoy (among a cast of at least two-thirds of the media) spewing hate speech over the airwaves every day.

And Our Lady Of The concentration Camps screaming because her incendiary right wing rhetoric got noticed by the feds. Along with a huge number of right wing blogs.

So - just the domestic terrorists, and the right wing media, and the right wings blogs.

And the churches. Who have been (unfairly) painting Obama as an unchristian baby killer because he believes that people should be allowed to make their own choices.

Just the domestic terrorists, and the right wing media, and the right wings blogs, and the churches.

And the hypocritical Republican't sexual deviants -

...I'll come in again.

Republicans have jobs, families, and friends.

Jobs that they steal from the poor. Families that they abuse. And friends who are accessories to their high crimes and misdemeanors.

Good bunch you hang out there with, Mister Holier-Than-Thou...

Leftists have none of these things.

Due to my awesome conservatude, I can automagically tell exactly what those who are completely different from me have, think, and do!

So far this clown is reading right out of the Limbaugh Field Operations manual. What else you got, Limbaugh licker?

That is why leftists have turned their politics into a religion (and a faggotty religion it is).

And he completes the Reich wingnut trifecta with a gratuitous homophobic remark that at once trivializes leftists who are religious, and infers that his non-faggoty uber-fundamentalist invisible sky fairy worship is oh so superior! Well played, sir!

Posted by GH at April 18, 2009 12:41 AM

How I love the smell of Republican'ts flailing about in the morning! Don't you have any teabagging to get back to, ditto monkey?

I must admit this sort of red-assing used to be a bit more of a challenge back in the old days...
