Comments: Not Quite An Exoneration

So you want to put your hopes on DiFi for this? Has she done anything else to support your cause? Maybe, just maybe, she'll need something to divert attention away from this other story out there about her husband being awarded a big contract to sell foreclosed properties at higher compensation rates than industry standards. Why has she intervened in another committee's area, The Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, with its jurisdiction over the FDIC? The contract is worth $25 billion, maybe this is where the cabinet can save that $100 million our president is talking about. How much will CREW get involved?

peter pathetico basically visits one web site after another, like a retarded squirrel collecting scraps of "info" (which he can't make head nor tail of), yet he imagines he's a wonderfully "informed" person. You're a dedicated scavenger of political "news" websites, peter, and the reality is that you don't know or understand anything you "read".

As Shakespeare said of another such moron, "He has been to a great feast of languages and stolen the scraps".

For those actually interested in the reality of our torture (unlike peter pinhead), you should read Mark Danner's latest piece, "The Red Cross Torture Report" in the latest NY Rev of Books. Great overview, the exact thing that peter pinhead could never grasp no matter how many scraps of shit he gathers and bookmarks for "use" at his TLC shitter.

Should Holder appoint a special prosecutor, the jig will be up and there won't be any way to contain him, so I doubt we'll see one.

"He has been to a great feast of languages and stolen the scraps".

Great line, euzoius. But you give peter too much credit. He goes to Malkin's site, betrays his wife in his mind playing the rabid shitzu's embarrassing (to her) cheerleader clip over and over, then hurries here to regurgitate whatever worm she's shared with him today. You don't have to visit many right wing sites, anyhow, they all say the same thing. Whatever Rush said the day before. I really hope the peter's of the world don't catch on that that strategy has failed them. The hole keeps getting deeper and deeper for the GOP. Wouldn't want them to get a clue and stop digging.

well put euzo as always...another possible quote from the Bard for petie? "Get thee to a nunnery"...

Geez Peter, the nerve of you to actually read articles on a subject and then form an opinion. It is so much easier for the lefties that just have to open their e-mail and get the day's talking points.

These folks just love DiFi. She backs President Bush most of the time. Is for the Patriot Act, The revised Patriot Act and reforming the FISA law last year. Yet, here these progressive are placing there hope on this progressive killer senator. Yeah, it's the left's way. They hope for a different outcome and then get what we have. A president that's getting more funds for the war in Iraq, and expanding our forces in Afghanistan. I guy who talked down President Bush in the campaign and is loving the Executive Branch that the Bush/Cheney admin. provided. An AG using "state secrets" phrase just like the former admin.

Here's another Democrat they might place their hopes in. City Councilman Kwame Kenyatta of Detroit. He wants to run for mayor. Thing is he just locked up his home and mailed the keys back to the mortgage holder and left.

who else here thinks shit-fer-brains petie has missed his true calling?
why with your obvious "brilliance" and advanced insight you, shit-fer-brains pete should be anointed the new chimporer, son of dead eye dickhead and his pet chimp..
all seig heil for shit-fer-brains petie!!

Peter

You continue to twist these poor folks into knots,(except for dumbo of course).. Keep up the good work.

The only downside is that our "group" might have to lay a couple off...you have it covered !

Is Obama holding back from prosecutions because he wants to keep cosy with the GOP? Surely not. It's because he knows a hell of a lot of Americans are in favour of the torture, as witness some of the people that come here. He knows prosecutions, let alone the richly deserved punishment of Bush himself, would divide the nation. Has there been any poll of public opinion about the torture? I'd love to hear that it is generally condemned, but I'd be surprised.
