Comments: The Thawing of California Bonds

I hope Gov. Jindal and Sanford who turn down stimulus money take note of this.

Not every state uses debt as much as California, but during economic crisis it's a good way to help turn things around. It's a good thing that the federal government is making it easier for state and local governments to sell bonds.

Remember California folks, vote 'no' in May against this cluster of a budget. Don't accept what this governor has resorted to.

I have to look at the propositions in detail, but I will be voting yes on those which allow initiative earmarked money to be used for things other than its intended purpose. I hate ballot box budgeting and am happy to undo a little bit of it.

Don't accept what this governor has resorted to.

And the alternative is... what exactly?

How about getting them to do their job right for once? That "budget" is a piece of crap that's already short another $8 billion. My gosh, y'all are spoiling paradise, or paradise on earth. California has everything, and still not enough.

lemme get this straight..petey supports dead eye dick and his pet chimp running the country in the ground for 8 years, then has the temerity to criticize CA's budget ...and we're supposed to listen to your delusions why, boy blunder?

...vote 'no' in May against this cluster of a budget.

The party of 'no'!

I think petie wants 4 more years of bu$h/cheney policies! More King Midas in Reverse... that will cure us all right!!

How amusing it's going to be when this site endorses the 'no' vote there.

shithead petey always a bilious, smug, miserable, deluded, small minded....

Peter:

I understand why you are against Gov. Arnold of CA even though he is Republican. He is more pragmatic. He believes that tax cuts and spending cuts do not solve problems and neither throwing money at the ptoblems. We need to do both in a balanced way. I have never heard that kind of talk from any Repub in many years. They all talk with the taxcut and spending cut mantra. Arnold is definately a fresh air in GOP. Too bad he cannot qualify to run for the big office.

I am voting NO on all the May 19th ballot measures. I am also buying whatever I can on-line. I minimize any purchases made that are subject to sales tax. I will do all I can to starve the beast. When Octo-mon, the unions, big business and the political hacks in Sacramento, San Francisco and LA run the state in the ground its time for scorched earth.

But what about the children?

California has a reported 20% of the population without health insurance. The State is picking up the tab for all treatment provided by State aid.

All States with large numbers of minority and under-employed individuals will continue to have budgets that will not be funded except by additional debt. Like the United States itself...many states are insolvent and can only continue to operate by perpetual borrowing.

Now that the Fed is buying government debt instruments directly, it is actually counterfeit dollars that are being paid to those rehired California workers.

Methinks this will end badly for the spending power of the greenback.
